It says that melee adv without any of the so-caled overpowering toolkit (no DD perks, easily rootable, ~9K hp, and what was it, 6, 7 levels lower?) was able to make you eat dirt 2/3 times, and the only actual win was based on a broken game mechanic.

LOL you're too much. Your proof that advents aren't overpowered is simply that you are a crappy advent, and can still kill a good trader? 2/3 times? Yeah, you got a way of proving your point. ROFL

I fail to see the humor, and being a smartass by ignoring the argument is a very low form of smartass. You need a mentor, someone like me.

My point was I lacked anything even close to the adv toolkit (very low root resist, very poor hp, casting the lowest SL heal, unable to land DD perks, dual drained, etc).

That proves that without my toolkit, just using this thing called skill, I was able to beat one of the only pvping traders.

That says far more about the trader than about the adv (who improved quite a bit)

No, if anything, it proves that even with a fragment of the adv professions toolset, one can still beat a well equiped/played trader (and a bunch of other struggling professions). It says a lot about the current state of profession balancing and why advs should be hit with the nerfbat for good.

It has very little to do with your skill - if you did indeed have any of that, you would have improved your character into the right direction long ago. But as I said, some aren't even capable to play godmode right ... or maybe you're just lazy and figured out that you can still win with half the effort, so why bother.

Point is, you're contradicting yourself here. You're trying to argue that advys are not overpowered (which i agree with to some extent), while at the same time claiming you can pwn a PvP Trader easily with barely using the Advy toolset.

Random fails to see that he's arguing two different things, and poorly. First, that adventurers' toolset is overpowered in comparison to most other profs. Second, that some other professions are underpowered in comparison to most other profs.

He contends that he is not overpowered, and traders are not underpowered. But winning against a trader who is well prepared and knows what he's doing, when he says he's using 10% of the advent toolset, well the proof is in the pudding. Course it does seem like he's using the most nerfable parts - acrobat+cocoon+heals.

I'm really getting a kick out of his idea that its all about his superior skillz. I mean, if you aren't smart enough to have heals set up to use when drained, and have no idea how to fight a trader . . . and haven't even got yourself set up to use your own toolset, that doesn't exactly make you a superior player that is winning by merit of your superiority.

If you win despite your best efforts not to . . . well, its not that you're better, its just that you're racing a Prius in a Ferrari.

I wonder - does Paris Hilton have herself convinced she's rich because she's smarter than the rest of us, and we are all dumb noobs at life? You guys would probably get along swimmingly.

Can a trader beat any other prof out there? Yes, of course. There are people playing this game, and they aren't all that good at it. Can a trader beat any other *skilled* prof out there? Well, still yes. Thats a lot more about luck than skill though. But fighting against a high level trader feels like soloing greys in sl - they die fast, and keep trying to run away. Soloing an advent is more like hitting a red SL dyna. <splat>

seems like fc gonna boost the broken classes instead of nerfing any lovechilds... nm versions passed the test's broken on the shielding nano's... fc you gimps, do something ..

That was my point, only somehow you figured that with 10% of the toolkit I'm overpowered (as little faith as I have in FC, if good advs were 10x better I'm pretty sure they'd actually do something). My point was being 220, an active PvPer, and in decent gear, does not mean you know wtf you're doing.

(I was implying syy is a noob and as the only pvping TL7 trader, the profs' power is inaccuratley reflected)

LoL and Lifecure both heal more than Supreme Health Haggler, with a lower recharge. Its the combination, the synergy of damage avoidance with healing.

I didn't say that with 10% of your toolset you're overpowered. I said that if 10% of an advent can beat a GOOD pvp trader - or any pvp trader using 100% of his toolset, any moron could conclude that traders are underpowered.

Any moron would conclude that, but you brilliantly deduce that traders are in fact perfect the way they are, and that the only trader you ever fought just sucks. Even worse than you do.

Your argument would be valid but you're operating on a false premise.

You must fight a lot of tl 7 traders then, to be able to judge who is good and who is bad . . . who is running around pwning you as a trader? Or at least, coming closer than syy does? You can't claim to be an expert after fighting one. The fact that you don't see other traders pvping doesn't give you any kind of a clue, does it?

Generally I know how well my own characters are doing, and when my character is as poor as I was at the time and I beat someone in fair duels, well, the problem isn't game mechanics.

When in doubt, ignore the question and make a claim that has nothing to do with anything.

Haven't seen anythign from you showing that syy sucks, other than the fact you won a few duels. If syy rocks, and traders suck, you'd win a few duels. . . how could you tell the difference? I mean, was syy running around in a med suit and chimera shotgun? Hardly. Aside from you winning, what makes you say the problem is the player not the prof?
