why pvp in AO will never be good

Just because you want to roleplay doesn't mean the game should have rules forcing everyone to. I have teamed with Omni in the past -- generally when there are no other Clanners around to fill a team -- and we all walked away from it having gained XP and chatting and having a good time. I also play the good samaritan role and have no problems buffing Omni with SFA or any of my leet Doctor buffs. I rarely accept tips from them.

As for not being able to attack people your own faction ... why? I am just about every day testing new nanos/weapons/strategies against guildmates in Tir Arena (and before 14.7.1, Wine). 0% is there for a reason, and arenas really have little to do with roleplay or storylines.

For what its worth Rhalla, I agree with you. So far PVP really is
subpar in this game, and you're right-on in your original reasons
why. Your reasons arent the end-all by any means, but they are
one aspect at how it suffers for role-players. Neutral characters
don't get enough benefits for being neutral IMO, and they can't
get in Omni or Clan groups because they come up as an enemy
which is super annoying. (OMG fix this Funcom) As to Clan vs
Omni, I personally like an US vs THEM attitude and think it really
adds to gameplay. Funcom really gimps this by allowing too much
peaceful interaction between us.

While some games take it too far (DAOC) and make it so that you
can't even talk to other realms, AO's almost complete lack of rules
and structure really take away the RPG value of the game. I
think that AO has a great storyline which is well thought out, and
well written. Unfortunately Funcom didnt do a good job
translating the Story into the GAME.

I do somewhat disagree with your idea that we be only allowed
to have chars on one faction per server tho. The reason being
that Funcom's server design means that there is only really 2
servers, although each one is huge. This strategy does work well
in other games with smaller server sizes , but there you have the
alternate problem of populations that are too small. Not letting
people have clan and omni people on RK1 would be a bit too
strict for most people. (Although I could understand why if they
did it, I doubt most people would)

Sorry for all of these moron flamers b*$&#ing at you for sticking
your neck out at the very beginning of this. One thing you might
consider doing is fleshing out your arguements and not being
quite so negative from the start. Its too bad that people think
they can disagree with someone and just be rude instead of
explaining why they disagree in a mature way. AO seems to
attract quite a bit of this crowd tho, mostly because they DO
listen to whoever screams the loudest 90% of the time.

btw, u dont want to roleplay...lets call it "realism". i see an omni and i cant shoot him in Wailing Wastes or Omni Forest? o ya suppression gas...and who put that gas there? neutrals? lmao
