And what is Desert Winds?
Well we are a roleplay (RP) guild set in the Anarchy Online universe. We are a bunch of neutral players who like to RP being ecowarrior/freedom fighters.
We want a free Rubi-Ka with a government of Rubi-Kans rather than off worlders, a Rubi-Ka that is a self sustaining colony ie has a properly balanced and functional ecosystem.
We feel Omni-Tek are not doing this correctly and the clans are not the alternative we need. We do not pretend to be the alternative to either, just part of the process of change and evolution.
We will campaign to make our selves known
We will fight for a Rubi-Ka independent of the corporations, and free for all

The following text is an interview conducted by Elizera with our fearless leader Naxilite......
(ELizera) - Good afternoon you join me Eli Keppler, here live from
Borealis , speaking with Naxilite , President of the neutral guild Desert Winds. Good after noon Naxilite it is good to have you here and
talk one to one with you away from the perils of battle.
I have a few questions for you....
(Naxilite) - Hello Eli, thank you for taking the time to talk to me and to allow us to get our message across.
(ELizera) -Tell me what the Desert Winds are all about, what are their
roots, and their aims?
(Naxilite) - The desert winds are a neutral organisation I founded with some like minded friends. We campaign for a free, independent, self-sufficient Rubi-ka. We want Rubi-Ka to take her place in the galaxy as a home for
Rubi-kans and not as a corporate plaything. This requires Rubi-Ka to be self-sufficient and ecologically stable allowing her and her population to
achieve independence. As such we support the move to terraform Rubi-Ka and often investigate the effects changes to the eco system have on both local and global scales. The move for independence is tied up with the state of the artificial eco system that Omni-Tek are creating. We feel the clans in general, but not all of them, have lost sight of independence
as an aim and seem to be more interested in gaining control of the notum and in some extreme cases simply going to war.
(ELizera) -The Desert Winds is a newly founded guild, being little
known in Rubika how will you go about making your presence more widespread?
(Naxilite) - We have been active getting ourselves and our ideals known. We have already protested the presence of the ICC troops which have been forced on us. They are a barrier in the road to independence, giving the ICC more influence here. They should leave immediately and their duties returned to the original authorities.
We will continue to campaign for our ideals and for a free Rubi-Ka. We have a rally coming up this week calling for a free and independent Rubi-Ka.
(ELizera) -This rally you speak of Nax, what will it mean for the average person on Ruib-ka?
(Naxilite) - I hope the average Rubi-kan will support us, I would hope those who really care for their home planet will attend and show the galaxy we care for our home.
(ELizera) - It’s clear that environmental issues are important to the Desert Winds, what can you tell us about the recent changes in the
Rubi-ka weather system?
(Naxilite) - Rubi-Kan weather, like that of all colonies, is controlled by a weather control system to maintain the weather at a galactic standard. In the 800 some years of Omni-Tek rule this system has not functioned correctly and the weather has not stabilised to allow a proper ecosystem to form and fully adapt. When the ICC announced they were landing troops Omni-Tek rushed through a large number of changes in order to reduce the amount of electro-magnetic activity on the planet. This resulted in a short-term reduction in storms and the death of all aquatic life. It seems to me the changes were rushed and no thought was given to the consequences. The weather is the very heartbeat of Rubi-Ka, all living things are dependent on it, if the system fails life will simply not be able to live here. Rubi-Ka shall return from whence it came; a lifeless ball.
(ELizera) - If an individual wanted to join the cause and support Desert Winds , how would they go about it?
(Naxilite) - First off we publish a gridfeed at www.desert-winds.org, they should read that to make sure they fully understand what the Desert Winds are for and that their own objectives tie in with those of the guild. Should this be the case they can then contact myself, Elizera, Trisagiona or Ascentia who will happily interview them and hopefully recruit them
into the guild. Although they are welcome to speak to any member of the guild, word of mouth is a powerful was to 'advertise'.
(ELizera) - What kind of people are you recruiting?
(Naxilite) - Rubi-kans, those people who feel Rubi-Ka is their home and would like to see it flourish. Determined, intelligent and resourceful people who are not afraid to speak their minds on what they believe in and are not scared to get their 'hands dirty'.
(ELizera) -Thank you for your time Naxilite, any thing else you would like to add?

(ELizera) - On a more personal note Nax, When you aren’t on duty , what do you like to do?
(Naxilite) - I mainly spend my time communicating with other leaders discussing events and the news, or I can be found helping new arrivals to Borealis and Newland city get settled into life here. I will simply talk with my fellow guild mates at times, sometimes i even sleep.
(ELizera) - Where would you name as your favourite place on Rubika
(Naxilite) - Hmmm a very difficult one to answer, I like Trinity Face in Street East Bank, its simple desolation is very uplifting.
(ELizera) - What’s the best quote you have heard ?
(Naxilite) - Some people say there are no stupid questions, I am here to tell you that yes there are..

An interview with Trisagiona, General of the Desert Winds
Elizera: I'm joined here in a picturesque location in SWB , by one of the
highest ranking females members of Desert Winds, the lovely Trisagiona! ,
Good morning Tris
Trisagiona: Good morning Eli
Elizera: Id like to talk a lil about yourself , your beliefs and your
interests, please be at ease and be comfortable.
Elizera: Tell me about yourself Tris, where are from, what is your
background?
Trisagiona: I was born out in the desert.. and later moved to Newland city
when it became just too unsafe to stay. My mother and my father worked hard to give me a home and my father was the one who taught me about the desert
Elizera: Tell me a bit about your parents Tris, who were they , what did
they do?
Trisagiona: They were ordinary people just wanting to be left alone, they took whatever work they could get and loved life.
Elizera: They were,, are they still with us today?
Trisagiona: They are with us.. they moved to Rome when they joined the Corporation
Elizera: How does this effect your relationship with them Tris?
Trisagiona: I have not spoken to them in years.. I live my life here and
they live theirs. I do miss them from time to time . Especially when I
watch the suns set over the desert and I remember them telling me about the
desert wildlife. I miss who they were... not what they have become
Elizera: What has been the best point of you life Tris, what is the most
fond memory?
Trisagiona: That's a though one.. I have a lot of fond memories.. let me
think
Elizera: No problem, take you time
Trisagiona: I think it must be from when I was 14 I think, out in one of
the oasis. A good friend of mine was with me. We called him Frostclaw.. I
don't remember why exactly. We were our there all alone to see the sunrise
and listen to the birds and maybe see a scorpiod
Trisagiona: It was.. *smiles*
Elizera: *imagines the image*
Trisagiona: I was happy.. and felt at peace.. it was also the day I got my
first kiss
Elizera: So tells us about this gentleman Frostclaw
Trisagiona: We did not get to see a scorpiod though.
Trisagiona: Gentleman!? oh no far from it
Elizera: I’ll rephrase that, this punk
Trisagiona: Well, he's into the martial arts like yourself
Elizera: oh, do you still keep in contact with him?
Trisagiona: No, I do not and for a very good reason. He deals in drugs and joined Omni Tek. So I really don't want to see him again.. I just cherish the memory of who he used to be.. much like my parents really.
Elizera: Dealing drugs, how terrible, an interesting memory from the past

Elizera: So we have heard about the good memory, perhaps you could tell us
of the low part of your life, or your most sad memory
Trisagiona: I remember being killed as very very sad
Elizera: I would have to say seeing someone else killed by my side, is
worse than dying myself
Elizera: I got used to dying myself i guess
Trisagiona: Then you're a better person than me Eliz
Elizera: *slaps herself*
Elizera: This interview is about you , not me Tris
Trisagiona: It is always good to know something about the interviewer
as that may help you understand why the questions are being
asked
Elizera: Good point, but i try to stay impartial
Trisagiona: Ok, I'll kick you if you start interviewing yourself again then
Elizera: So what in life, are you really passionate about Tris?
Trisagiona: I'm very passionate about life in general
Elizera: Could you be more specific?
Trisagiona: Everyone that knows me knows that I've got a temper
Elizera: You have a temper! never!
Trisagiona: I flare up at nothing at all and cry for less
Elizera: I’ve not seen this Tris,
Trisagiona: And I hate seeing things die for no reason at all
Elizera: Can you give us an example?
Trisagiona: of me crying? you want me to cry now? *chuckles*
Elizera: No no , not an example of crying
Trisagiona: Good as I'm a lousy actress
Elizera: Perhaps a situation where you have lost it, your temper i mean?
Trisagiona: But there are so many situations to chose from..Ah let me see. I lost my temper on the gridfeed earlier today..
Elizera: Really? tell us, please
Trisagiona: Well, I hate things that are not fair.. and being shot at for
having taken a neutral stance in a war is not fair. So I flare up and starts yelling and telling people that I really hate them.. all of them
Elizera: To who were these comments aimed at Tris?
Trisagiona: Omnis and Clanners.. I tend to think in black and
white when I get angry
Elizera: Do you see this as a weakness?
Trisagiona: If they are 10 and I'm only me .. yes
Elizera: I mean in general, when you loose your temper, do you think you
have lost the argument?
Trisagiona: To some degree yes.. as with this Anamaxis. I would
probably end up cutting his head off, and that would be bad, as I think he's really a nice guy.
Trisagiona: I do call that losing the argument
Elizera: As one practised in martial arts we learn control and to channel
this rage, where do you channel your rage to?
Trisagiona: Usually to my swords
Elizera: Are you saying you would "strike first , and ask questions later"?
Trisagiona: It's a flaw I know.. but when I get angry.. the world turns red
and...Yes then I would strike first
Elizera: Everyone has flaws even the Great Naxilite (tho i am yet to find
them) , where does this rage of yours come from do you think?.
Trisagiona: If you look at it cynically you would probably come to the
conclusion that being killed repeatedly at the age of 18 would make a
person bitter and maybe just a tad bit angry.
Trisagiona: I usually like to say that I channel the planets fury though *chuckles*
Elizera: Most certainly, this would have a huge effect on an individual
Elizera: Was there something that happened when you were 18 then?
Trisagiona: I would rather not talk about it..
Elizera: I respect that, lets move on
Elizera: Talking about wildlife, i still remember the first and last time i
smacked a leet in front of you Tris
Elizera: You certainly showed me there your passion for all things living,
and leets in especial
Trisagiona: A life is sacred...
Elizera: Yeah i managed to evade those riders on that occasion, and i have
learned my mistake
Elizera: I think you made me more aware of living things, i have you to
thank for that
Elizera: So tell me about leets....
Trisagiona: They are cute and cuddly.. I had a pet leet once
Elizera: really?..
Trisagiona: yes his name was David..
Elizera: Aww David sounds very cute
Elizera: but i feel this story has a sad end
Trisagiona: He could talk.. not like us but a word here and there
Elizera: Have you ever experienced other animals talking to you, not
perhaps with words, but thought?
Trisagiona: All living beings talk. Everything with life in them talks .. you just have to listen
Elizera: tell us a little about it if you would?
Trisagiona: Have you ever sat down under a tree and felt the life in it?
Elizera: Sure i have I'm not called "tree hugger " for nothing
Trisagiona: Then you should know that a tree speaks
Trisagiona: It tells you about itself, the soil it stands on.. the air that
blows through its branches
Elizera: I do know that Tris, just would like to hear you opinion on it
Elizera: After all a tree has seen many more lives come and go then us
humanoids, they are wise indeed
Trisagiona: They are. And look at a wolf. When he looks back time freezes
Elizera: Im feared for wolves
Trisagiona: and all you can see, hear, breathe is the freedom.. and the
thrill of the hunt
Trisagiona: Ah.. why is that Eliz?
Elizera: I actually feel imminent death, when i wolf looks to my eyes.
Trisagiona: Open up the beast in you eliz
Elizera: Certainly with trees i can cope, they don't bite me, but wolves
well they tend to chew me
Trisagiona: to know the wild you've got to be one with it
Elizera: The beast, no im no beast, im a shy quiet girl
Trisagiona: Look at me Eliz
Elizera: I am looking at you now Tris
Trisagiona: You've got a beast in there too
Elizera: A beast? you talk like my mother used to
Trisagiona: Without it you'll be nothing but a souless drone
Elizera: Do you have the "gift " too?
Trisagiona: What kind of gift are you talking about?
Elizera: Well my mother had it
Elizera: It is the "gift of second sight"
Elizera: The ability to read and feel a person, before they even open their
mouth
Trisagiona: Oh.. no I am terrible with people .. I'm more at home among
animals
Elizera: Perhaps you feel the animal then?
Elizera: Erm i mean mentally "feel"
Trisagiona: Yes.. the animal or the beast as I prefer to call it is always there
Elizera: I see, i see, the beast, well i have learnt something else today
Trisagiona: some people are just too "tame" to know it's there
Trisagiona: got to free it from time to time
Elizera: Yes i would agree, i think my beast has been bottled up for some
time
Elizera: oh yes, what inspired you join the DW?
Trisagiona: That we fight for a free and independent ecologically stable Rubi-Ka. It’s all I have ever wanted. *smiles*
Elizera: Well thank you for letting my talk with you Tris, was most
interesting, unfortunately my brain has dried up
Elizera: Anything else you would like to add?
Trisagiona: and so has my tongue
