Purpose eh? Well I'm sure there's something! (Maybe supplying teammates with runspeed, hacking the grid network etc.)
Well, My fixers current purpose is to waste a character spot.
aoe snaring zerglings at wars/BS, team meeping when SB rooted (and getting OSed) without a counter SB up, dispensing buffs?

Can get some speed from advys and MAs, can get meeps and short HoTs from docs ...

I have no idea, i might bring mine out from retirement if i ever figure it out :-(
1. NCU's for my keeper is essential when raiding/fighting with all the lovely helpfull/essential OSB's.
2. GSF is just pure love whatever I do on whatever toon I play.
3. HoT's help a lot when doing hard encounters to offload my doc or to take care of damage from adds and stuff...
4. Roots/snares are a pain in the xxx when on the receiving end in BS and a blessing when spammed by a helping fixer in BS.
5. Team Fgrid is very helpfull (Allthough hated by most fixers that have it I'm sure ;))
6. Evac is great to get around fast when questing or to get out of a mess if things turn bad. (Why, oh why don't fixers have SL evac's btw???)
7. Essential for getting ql250+ items from RK missions.
Whatever I do with any of my toons I very much like to be teamed with a fixer and consider a fixer as helpfull/beneficial to a team or more than many other professions.
I'd like to see a new purpose for Fixers introduced involving more hacking.
Advy/MA can't add as much speed and do not add as much evades as well.
On top of that Advy speed means you'll have a dasm annoying morph as well or that you can't fight depending on the morph...

It was like saying you can get reflects from an engie and inits from an enf and so solds have no role.
Fixers had a good role before, and were damn hard to hit (but evades are a touchy subject, AS war sucked). The thing is FC simply didn't give worthwhile rewards. Be it nano (You have been hacked lololol! -12 abilities!) or weapons. And the reqs are simply unrealistic.
I think FC is afraid to touch some things because it might bring back AS war and stuff.
