The Free Rubi-ka Declaration

We, the free people of Rubi-ka, hold that we have been endowed with the inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and carry an inherent dignity that no one may take away. The Omni-Tek Corporation of Rubi-ka has trampled on our rights, with no respect for human life or dignity, placing money and profit before individuals. They aim to institute a tyrannical dictatorship over Rubi-ka, and maintain an unholy alliance with the Unredeemed.

Omni-Tek are the purveyors of suffering of gigantic proportions.

The injustices perpetrated by the Omni-Tek Corporation are present for all to see, and all Rubi-kans who cherish freedom must unite to stand for the freedom of all.

The resurrection technology posessed by Rubi-kans makes war futile, so our weapons shall be words. We support the liberation of Rubi-ka through peaceful means, but are willing to use force to defend ourselves and the freedom of Rubi-kans if necessary.

The employees of Omni-Tek are victims in this conflict, manipulated, exploited and deceived by shadowy masters. Free Rubi-ka aims to convert Omni-Tek employees to the side of freedom through dialogue, and are willing to negotiate with the Corporation provided that certain pre-conditions are met.

Until Rubi-ka is free, until everyone is respected for their inherent worth rather than their profitability, until the dignity of all Rubi-kans is respected, we shall not rest.

We shall stand and fight for a free and democratic Rubi-ka. We shall fight for the values of Justice, Democracy and Freedom. We shall fight for the inalienable rights of all.

Im sure you mean the resurrection technology possesed by Omni Tek and GIVEN to all the people on Rubi Ka.
Even the profitruled clans whos cause have been long won and fights for nothing else at the moment but to earn further massive amounts of credits through Notum minings. Even they get to use the resurrection insurance witch Omni Tek provides.

Not all of us are motivated by profit in the Clan struggle. Whilst there is a promise of democratic government in the future, we find this unacceptable. Democracy should not be postponed, we should have it now. We're not averse to negotiating with Omni-tek, but we want everyone's democratic rights to be respected today, not tomorrow.

The resurrection technology is in the hands of all, and such technology should not belong to anyone, given it's major life-prolonging capabilities. The resurrection technology is posessed not by omni-tek, but by the clans when in clan territory. I am sure that you or some of your spies in OT have noticed that scanners in clan territory are only useable by clans.

My point in the declaration was that regardless of who owned the resurrection technology originally, it is now used by all sides, and it is pointless to fight a conventional war, since death is practically ruled out. The soldiers just respawn at the last terminal they registered at, and the battle continues. Why has the war gone on for over 200 years? Because no side can strike a killing blow over the other.

Hmph. The "unholiness" of the Unredeemed is debatable. The Redeemed might claim having high ideals and how everything should be preserved and so on and so on, but only rarely do they actually act on their own ideals. They exploit notum just as the Unredeemed do, no matter what they claim. The Unredeemed do not claim to be anything, whilst the Redeemed claim to be good. In fact, I would say that the Unredeemed are much more like us than the high and mighty Redeemed could ever even dream of being. If you actually believe that the Unredeemed are unholy and evil and teh Big Bogey Man behind the scenes, you're so full of Clan/Redeemed propaganda that not even years in Omni-Reform would fix you. If what you claim is true, why wouldn't the Redeemed be the puppet masters behind you, abusing your desire for, as you call it, freedom?

If you consider the war to be futile, as you say, why do the Clans continue waging it? Why should Omni-Tek be the first one to lay down its weapons? The Clans have surely not shown any signs of wanting peace. Not any lasting kind, anyway. Not to mention how only the Clans are openly hostile towards the neutrals on this planet. The fact that neutrals are killed on sight in the city of Tir is inexcusable, especially since you claim to be on the side of "freedom". It is also one of the reasons why I ended up choosing sides in this war.

The reason why this war has gone on for over two hundred years is because Omni-Tek is following the rules set by the ICC. Otherwise it is obvious that a megacorporation that has operations in multiple galaxies would crush a minor uprising like the one here in an instant. Common sense, isn't it?

I must conclude that your declaration is obsolete and simply a waste of time, and as such, I shall now end this reply to your... Declaration.

An interesting response, and one I shall hope to address in this post. The Unredeemed are exploiters of the Notum resources in the Shadowlands, that I think we can agree on, however this exploitation is leading to the destruction of the shadowlands, and was the reason the devastation of the Xan occurred in the first place. The Redeemed, whilst utilising Notum for their own ends, only harvest the surplus of notum produced - i.e. what won't upset the natural balance.

That depends entirely on which clans you talk to. As a clan, FRK is opposed to fighting a war with Omni-Tek, and are much more willing to negotiate with OTRK than to obliterate them. As such we will ally with either New Dawn or Terra Firma when we apply to join the Council of Truth. We're also willing to share power with OT in a democratic government, and will negotiate once pre-conditions are met (these will be decided upon at our annual congress). Omni-Tek is perfectly free to issue its preconditions, and provided that they are sensible and workable, we will push within the council to achieve a ceasefire. Whilst Silverstone and his Sentinel dogs may want this war to continue, you can have my assurances that Free RK does not.

Once again, this is not the policy of all clans. Free Rubi-ka recognises the independence of the Neutrals, and will not interfere in their affairs. In any power-sharing arrangement the Neutrals should have an equal voice to OT and the Clans. I agree, the killing of Neutrals in Tir is inexcusable, and I opposed the Sentinels' invasion of Tir from the outset. The fact he calls Tir a "free city" is laughable! I would like nothing better than to see Silverstone and his scum removed from Tir. He is an arrogant little man, who leaves suffering in his wake.

There is no factual proof that the exploitation of those now called Unredeemed was the direct cause of the fall of the Xan. There is, however, proof of the fact that the Xan fell because of multiple major wars, where both sides exploited notum without a care in the world and everything ended quite... Abruptly. It was those now called the Redeemed that started the chain of wars to begin with, as far as I know. What they did simply escalated it a thousand fold. Beyond any point of recovery.

All this to stop this exploitation. Or so they say.

It is far too obvious that they sold out those principles they claim to uphold to stop the other side from doing what they themselves did and still do. I think this makes them... Slightly hypocritical. Untrustworthy. At least the Unredeemed do not share the Redeemed trait of spouting out idealistic claims that are untrue.

And anyway, how do they know their own notum mining is less depletive than that of the Unredeemed? To me, it seems, that they do not. They just think so and say so because they can't be wrong, for they are the Redeemed, gods among mere mortals.

But enough of that. If you mean no harm to us, I think it is fair to say that at least I do not mean any harm to you, then. I hope that we will never meet on the blood drenched battlefield that is Rubi-Ka.

but instead /me thinks you want to benefit from all the technology and items clams have stolen from Omni-Tek and try and propose a ceasefire that your side can't possibly uphold.

How can you see yourself as wanting a declaration of freedom when your sided with clams? You say your against half of what being a clammer is all about, I'm surprised they havn't draged you outside and shown you a thing or two by violating thier codes. oh yeah, your freedom speach takes the heat off of some of them. While your out protesting, thier gonna be setting up the next big battle. Don't worry, you'll be exploited as a clammer by the clammers.

Maybe I should, but I cannot join the Neutrals. The Clans are simply an umbrella group of organisations opposed to Omni-Tek's rule of Rubi-ka. As it is both sides have scored victories and a petty conflict is not going to achieve anything. The Clans wouldn't "drag me out" and "shown you a thing or two by violating thier codes". The Clans are not a monolith, but an alliance of organisations. It's a shame that many seem to use the words "Clans" and "Sentinels" interchangeably, because the Sentinels are in the Minority, and many in the Council of Truth have allied with Terra Firma, which wants an OT-Clan powersharing arrangement. "You say your against half of what being a clammer is all about" - what being a clanner is about is opposing omni-tek rule: nothing more, nothing less. I oppose a corporate monopoly over the planet, and believe that the council, neutrals and Omni-Tek should rule RK in a powersharing government until Omni's lease on the planet ends in a few years time.

I agree with you there. Simon Silverstone is a belligerent warmonger, and will not provide any suitable form of peace. If there were a united clan victory tomorrow, there would be a war with silverstone and the sentinels against everyone else. His brand of politics is unhelpful and fundamentally undemocratic, and Free Rubi-ka opposes them. I think the problem here is that people tend to view the Sentinels as being representative of all Clans, which is completely untrue. Many oppose him and his methods, and I would like nothing better than for the Sentinels to be completely marginalised. If you are considering joining Omni-tek, that is a matter for you and your conscience, and I recommend that you think long and hard before making such a monumental decision. Do not let the actions of one belligerent clan make you change sides.

This is where you are wrong. They are not a monolith, that is true... However saying that the clans is an alliance of organisations is not.

The clans as a whole consists of several alliances of clans each alliance working towards extremely different goals. Had the clans been one instead of so many different there probably would be no more conflicts on this planet. Sadly, the clans are unable to come to any kind of long term agreement amongst themselfs and this, naturally, prevents them from properly having diplomatic relations to ANY other faction.

Striking a deal with any one clan/alliance is worthless since it most likely will cross the paths of several other clans/alliances.

Hence, I would not describe the clans as an alliance since it would give them the credit of being much much more organized then they really are.

Oriitas, I switched sides after discovering that Omni-Com are in charge of ALL insurance patterns. A large part of my argument is invalidated because of that. If they had no respect for human life or opinions differing from their own, they'd just shut off the insurance of their opponents and problem solved.

The declaration was made in ignorance, I have seen the light.
