Pistols a useful waepon in the futur?

Well, I´m for one is not giving up untill Funcom give a serious answer to the fact that pistol are useless as you increase in lvl and more mobs get better damageshields combined with higher health then possible for a player.

The multiwield is also so nerfed on some pistols you can only use a lower QL weapon in second hand then your lvl, and we all have experienced that minimum damage syndrome that gives.

So, will pistols be balanced to a usable alternative to shotguns and assault rifles. the pistol wielding adventurer definitly need this answe so we know if we are just to erase them and start over with dual wielding shotguns instead.
