Team Play article !!!!!!!!!!!
My gawd!!!!!!!!!!
I read about half of it before I wanted to throw up.
Funcom has no idea how this game is played if this is How they think the game is played!
Couldnt read more than half of the article because it bothered me on so many levels. They really have no idea across the board what this game is like.
Funcom get your ass off the keyboard and play your game. Codeing an idea and having it work are two different things. HEHEHEHE when was the last time you saw a TRUE tank? Blahhh whatever they suck.
It DOES have it's target audience - we're just not it :-)
the article isn't SO horrible as it is useless, at least to those who frequent these boards; do remember that he clearly states it's not written for benefit of any guys who wrote in this thread so far.
Personally, when I was starting I could honestly have used an easy guide like that one to know what the heck "tanking" or "pulling" or ANYthing was.
Asking higher level players had 50/50 chance of getting either a useful answer or being set on /ignore. We're all one big friendly family;)
That being said, some of the mistakes in there are inexcusable; (Adventurer's roots, no mention of MA/Adv team heals as was posted in another thread etc) and in terms of usefullness to experienced players, it's certainly far behind the recent articles...:(
It should've been added to FAQ, rather then being a feature-article, and after the mistakes are rooted out, all would've been happy:)

I don't think it's written for the benefit of anyone who plays this game, those who read and post in the forums have nothing to do with that. Aside from all the glaring downright wrong things listed there everything written about the meta in that article was wrong or just incorrect with the exception of us having nanoskill buffs. I don't remember the last time I waited for a soldier or enforcer to start chipping away at an ace to hit my /pet fluffy attack macro... it's always the other way around, pet classes hit it and they join in after. between my anger debuffs, an aggro enhancer of higher QL than most tank classes i run across, my demon, curse, high aggro mind quake nuke, and my healpet I would consider a huge chunk of my job in groups to be saving the ass of anyone who's going to die. hell they didn't even mention pets in the bit about tanks except later as an afterthought to point out that pets can tank somewhat.
Adventurers dont have roots yet they are a rooting class somehow.
granted I don't know many doctors and to be frank look for them only if there are alot of non pet classes in my group because there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. they cant heal my pet nor can they heal a bot, if i get full aggro from an ace and dont manage to drop it right off the bat im going to die pretty quick doc healing me or not. I can say without a doubt however i've never seen a doc "leading the group" and cant immagine why they would be seeing as that would increase the odds that they gain aggro...
as an MP i would love a run buff since it affects my pet's speed as well.. but guess what? I have 335 NCU's and am going to reserve that last 39 NCU's i have free for just about anything else... I don't think i've ever seen someone ask for a runbuff in a group unless you count running back to the outpost in lush to save as a newbie...
It says im a great debuffer as a meta... err wait

all lower the proper skill by 75 points.

All lower the proper skill by i believe 125 points.
Mind quake lowers all nanoskills by 100 points for ~10 seconds i believe it is, the one below is -65, there are more below that as well.
did you know that when mobs could cast last word dominate+mindquake would not even hinder that ability? Did you know that aside from neleb the derranged I've yet to find a mob that had their casting affected by the above nano's? only against aces do i really have time to cast my only nanoskill debuff that has an affect against mobs (nanoshutdown) and it's resisted horribly on them with it's 160% resist... then im left having spent ~7-8 seconds casting it and ~10 seconds recharging (didn't check those numbers). Oh yea I have another line of awsome debuffs too.... they lower inits and damage... A mere 775 matmet, and 703 psymod can let me instantly pull near unloseable aggro for an amazing -33 damage and -224 init debuff.. wow that's amazingly useful... i've always used the lower level versions of them to draw aggro so i could save someone's ass... they are utterly useless after about level 50 or so. So... aside from one debuff and a handful of useless debufs i suppose yes I am a great debuffing class
Well... at least he got one thing right...
agents DO have the ability to cast general buffs :-D
