A newbies view of the game

I've been playing for 9 days now, and have to admit that I'm pretty much hooked. This is my first AO type game.

Things that are annoying me at the moment:
I play an engineer - my bot just keeps getting dumber and dumber. At levels 1-10, the bot never had a problem navigating around rooms. Now, at level 30, I have to terminate the bot 2-3 times per mission, because it gets stuck in the walls, desks, chairs, whatever. My other character is a fixer, and the joy and relief of not worrying about where the bot is, is almost overwhelming.

    The missions:
On solo missions last night, I would walk into a room, start fighting, and then watch TV or read a book for a couple of minutes, occasionally looking up to make sure that I hadn't lost more that 25% of my health. OK, I'm only playing an average level, with some light orange MOBs, but this is pretty sad.

Even on group levels, when we have 6 team members, we can wing away at a red MOB for 3 minutes, and none of the other bad guys in the next room notice at all.

Hunting is fun, but even still, the bad guys seem to only attack if they are attacked.

It would be nice if the MOBs had a better AI system, to make the group missions less "everyone fire at the big guy." Some sort of group strategy would be nice.

    The guild:
The guild system is great, and we've got a great one going, but I have no idea of who is in the guild, other than by going to a website.

    The interface:
I really like the interface, and the environments are beautiful. Except -
There should be an indicator somewhere obvious on what channel I'm speaking on. Preferrably in the chat bar itself.
The large global map should fade out, or be superimposed, or be allowed to be the size of the local map. Right now, it just takes up too much real estate, and I play on a pretty good size screen.
My number keys will randomly lock up. There are times when I can't type a 4 or a 6, or other numbers. This is really annoying, especially since it doesn't seem to be consistant.

    Tir:
Tir is so laggy, get some of those people out of there, like you manage to do in Omni-1 Ent and Omni-1 Trade.

Like I said, this is only my views after a week. I've found the game to be really enjoyable, and pretty adictive.

Dont worry, your bot gets much more dumber when he grows

Also dont worry of the aggro in missions - you will get sometimes more than you like in higher levels.

The world map can be reduced in size, just use the bottom right corner and when the arrow appears, just click, hold and pull your wanted size
No need to PHEAR ME! anymore - Im gone

    Thanks

You know, I got so tired of trying to resize windows (inventory, and chat specifically) that I didn't even think to check the ability to resize the map. Thanks for the tip!

    my suggestion to you............

start a new char that is NOT an engineer

if you continue to be an engineer you will become bitter and hatefull

please for the sake of yourself and all the people on RK

if you like the pets, play crat......you get to do stuff other than watch your bot attack, or try mp

but switch before you invest too much time into engie

and you are going to say..........well i really like engie right now.....but this is a warning, 100 levels from now you are going to be pissed off that you spent all that time on the class people say need some love most............

    just my 2 credits

I loved my engie, but stopped at 142 because I felt there was nothing left to do (bar go guns) and the main points of the class are being ignored.

this may help u also, u will be able to do more damage faster once u learn the ways of making urself stronger without leveling. there are many ways and u will learn them as u go. if mobs were easy to kill, u would be 200 after 9 days already
