Thread: CZ- you mentioned Atrox only armor. If its not better than mk2, no one will wear it

    Each character, no matter the breed, can raise stats at the same rate (3/level) and can raise treatment at the rate of 4-5/level (based purely on profession, not breed). Thus the maxed attributes and treatment of an Atrox will be the same as a Solitus. The only real differences (other than a few pieces of equipment) are that the Atrox will have more health and fewer nano points. The skill limitations DO make a small difference at the higher levels (a difference that was weakened with the institutions of level reqs), but they should make no difference in your ability to get ql200 implants in.

    My solitus could start getting ql200 implants in at level 127 (using treatment implants, of course). If I were an Atrox, I could also get the ql200s in at that same level. The only difference being that I would have over 600 more health (1/level+1/BD) and 600 less Nano Pool (which I don't even have maxxed since I have more than enough nano for my nanos).

    Thats incorrect Scorus, because int is dark blue for atrox we get less nano skills for each point we raise it. This also affects comp lit and treatment, therefore we are unable to match solitus lvl for level

    No you get same skill bonus per point of int as solitus. You start out with 3 less int at lvl 1 tho. However you cap your int ability much earlier than solitus. At lvl 133 if my version of skill emulator is correct, while solitus can raise int until lvl 158. So before lvl 133 the int difference between atrox and solitus is so small it will give less than 1 point difference in treatment and comp lit.

    But, nobody's talking about 133. The Atrox starts to suck majorly around 150 or so and becomes a bigger and bigger gimp till the end-game.

    Up till the mid 130's the Atrox is simply a larger size Solitus with little to no difference in skills or abilities. This is forgiveable. Basically till 130 Atrox=Solitus.

    At 130 a clever Atrox who spends a ton in expensive blue Abilties (Int/Sense) can get most of his 200 implants in. He'll have to keep the faded Surgery cluster and might not get the head in. But, implants are not the issue here. Smart players always manage to gear up well enough.

    The issue is that our Atrox's not only are not distinguished from the Opi's and Soli's. It's that they actually become gimpier and gimpier each level past 130 or so. By contrast, the NanoMage becomes stronger and stronger as health becomes more of a non-issue in the high level game. Hitpoints are so easy to come by as the NCU buffs and Essence of Behemoth (not to mention Doctor buffs) are standard-issue in the first room of a mission.

    Nobody ever dies anyway. Mind you we are talking PvM here.

    The problem is that we have the Atrox getting worse and worse every level with nothing to balance against it. I've not heard of an Atrox who wants to be able to self-buff into the best nanos. That's the hit we decided to take. What every Atrox wants is something to balance against the inability to execute the best nanos.

    A larger heal delta, a bit of 'natural AC', some more hitpoints per level, hell even a natural runspeed increase would even the scales a bit more post 130 where the game finally starts getting interesting (or boring depending on your point of view).

    Ever notice the length of an Atrox' legs? He ought to really motor on the open field once he gets going.

    1) Actually, the problems start long before that. At level 27, my atrox fixer could upload Grid Phreak, but I was 150+ nano away from being able to cast it!

    My Atrox soldier is constantly HURTING badly because he needs sense (dark blue) to raise ranged energy and ranged init!!

    2) Heh. How true. As early as level 70 or so, hit points become darn near irrelevant due to buffs and such.

    3) Exactly. I wouldn't mind suffering in the nano department if I had something to make up for it in the damage output/taking department.

    As far as Atrox-only armour goes, I'll be happy if it just looks cool. No underwear-on-the-outside-of-the-pants plasteel variation (i.e. carbonum). Something really cool. Something that looks so freakin huge and clunky and heavy only an atrox could possibly wear it.

    for the love of god please dont try to "fix" atrox breed with any equipment! i have seen many great ideas how to fix it in forums. be it an ac increase proportional to your lvl (most cool imo), hp increase, regeneration increase etc. but NO armor or stuff like this!

    Agree, have seen it for long that most complain that i cant cast that and that nano with out getting that and that item.

    Fix the Atrox abilities please. Don't add some stupid gear.

    Make the ability score totals equal to that of solitus!

    The Atrox health bonus is small.

    Therefore the nano penalty should be small.

    We have 2 green abilities. We should only have 2 dark blues (make either int or sense light blue).

    It is really that simple.
