My comment was not done toward the whole Rimor Community, but towards Mr. Superiority Complex. It was meant for him based on what I know of him and his past claims of Rimor being superior to Atlantean.

So, do us all a favor and stop acting like you're the authority on all things.
If this was the case, why did I recommend someone to ask you about some RP questions, wouldn't I have answered if I am such authority?

I thought you had changed, you haven't. Welcome back to /ignore.

Maybe he deserves a shot at Kintaii, maybe he doesn't. Certainly he can go ahead and slug at the guy, but what is it really serving other than to perpetuate a personal conflict? That tunnel leads to nowhere, trust me on that. Taking time out to flail at each other isn't going to help the situation either and wars on the internet are just a lil childish, dontcha think?

After all, this IS FICTION here. Let's not loose sight that technicality, we are arguing about nothing but a system of ideas we interact with to have a fun time waster.

In someway or another anything Firefly is totally related to everything.
I don't PvP becasue my rlpeen is big enough so I don't need to make up for it with my epeen.

ya know I've been thinking about. Kintaii if you're reading. Or if someone in events could poke the man.
Look I just want to know the whole Eva Eva thing. Send it too me in a tell I'll keep my mouth shut. But really I'm not getting any younger here and I would like to know before I'm dead or to senile to care or remember.
I mean really as a player/rper the whole Omega in SL but nothing about in active storyline. Example we're really not even allowed to rp about it without getting funny looks, is really kind of a bummer.

Now Foos is pouring Salt in my wounds.

The Eva thing was a freaking Fiasco. And the Omega thing is actually something we should discuss as a sidebar and get a Brainstorming Session going for. Because:

    The Omega are Evil.
    Most Omni-Tek Employees are Good.

When Good meets Evil it should be like Oil and Water, yet, it's embraced like Peanut Butter meeting Jelly.

    Conundrum!

I don't want to shatter your bubble, but Omni-Tek was formed by the Omega and subtly controlled by them. I'm sure you know this though. Omni-Tek employees have been manipulated by Omega for 1000's of years which should be enough to screw up the OT community pretty good.
I don't really know this Eva thing though . This is Eva Pourias I guess? What about her?

I already said the Omega are Evil.

    Omni-Tek Employees are not Omega.

So, I fail to see your point.

I think the point he's trying to make is that the "normal" OT-Employee does not have enough information available to know that he is being manipulated and thus helping the Omega accomplish their goals. Just compare it to 1984 where the masses are being controlled by the state and everything is fabricated by the state.

Nah, Trousers just likes to pretend Omni-Tek are all fluffy bunnies that are spreading peace and harmony across the galaxy

Minions of evil corporations will always try to justify their actions... but thats an entirely different discussion!

I'm simply trying to point out that there is a distinct and significant difference between:

    The Corporation.

    The Overlords.

    The Employees.

Example: The US Government (The Corporation) is Ruled by Democrat Barack Obama (The Overlords) but that doesn't make every Citizen (The Employees) a Democrat.

The Implication that every Omni-Tek Employee is evil because the Omega rule Omni-Tek from the shadows is reckless at best.

    Funcom employee

There's a difference between 'citizenship' and 'employment', however - Even though one could make the argument that there's little distinction between the two on Rubi-Ka, given the fact that there's a lack of democracy in the governmental/corporate leadership of Omni-Tek, the citizens/employees are signing up de-facto for what the corporation does and believes in.

The work an Omni-Tek employee does is done directly for that corporation and as persons within the hierarchy of the corporate structure they have relatively little say in the actions their leadership takes, making them indirectly (or in some cases directly) responsible for the corporation's power and behaviour. By aiding a group that is, albeit subjectively, "evil", without any course of action for actual change in said group, all employees of Omni-Tek are contributing to the overarching goals of their employers, regardless of whether they believe themselves to be "good" or not.

To put it in a simpler fashion: The road to hell is often paved with good intentions.

Even with this said, if any Omni-Tek employee has managed to fool themselves into believing that the corporation is a force for (again, subjective) "good" in the universe, even in spite of all the glaring evidence to the contrary, then they are either deluded, insane, or have had their brains re-wired. Even forgoing the sheer capitalism aspect of Omni-Tek (which, in my personal opinion, is definitely of a much grayer shade than the rest of their activities and can easily be viewed as benign), things such as mass murder, indentured servitude, "human" rights abuse, and animal cruelty are a fairly clear sign that they aren't a bunch of humanitarians, and no one in their employ should (or even really CAN) be unaware of these facts. We're talking about the company that thought it'd be a great idea to unleash ravenous two-headed wolves on a planet; these guys are *not* angels, and it shows.

Now ask me my opinion about the Clans some time. :P

Okay if we want to use things like plausibility and believability (which I know might cause some headaches thinking about) Omni-Tek is far too big to be totally evil. What is important to keep in mind is we only see a portion of OT that operates on Rubi-Ka. Now granted the current situation on Rubi-Ka is pretty messed up, but also take into consideration the cash cow that Rubi-Ka is and all the eyes around it. It would be easy to say there are some OT controlled planets were there are no issues and most of the people are happy, and life is pretty normal. Lets not also forget that there should be free planets where OT has a presence and the employees are just that employees, they go to work and they come home.

Now lets look at the Omega and what we know of them. So at the end of the war it's said there is only a hand full of them left, so I'm going to guess and say about 15 to 20 of them running about the galaxy. Also we are told they hate each other, (yeah I guess living with someone for 10k years might be a bit much). So one or two go out and form Omni-Tek and they use a lot of Omega tech to bring them into power. So humanity moves out into the stars and other massive corporations form along with Omni-Tek.

Okay so the Omni key quest in SL does talk about Omni's wanting to become like the Omega. Also lets keep in mind the key quests also says everyone that does them are the chosen one. The point being maybe there are a few humans the Omega might groom to help them along the way. But for the most part your average "Joe Shmoe" working in an office for OT is probable just a normal guy doing his job, and not somehow inherently evil looking to conquer all that is around him. Not every employee is going to be some overbearing ruthlessly twisted Pol or AF character.

Now lets keep in mind something else, after the war. The Omega get the urge to go to Rubi-Ka, but we know OOC it's not because of Notum and the massive cash flow that it brings, it the source. And we also learn the the Omega themselves were really just pawns of the Xan (the unredeemed side of the Xan to be more exact).

Now it's easy to say the Omega are still out trying for their same goal domination and control of everything. However, a being that was not designed to be immortal living 50k years might do some serious mental damage along the way. For all we know the Omega might have a new goal which would be control the source kill everything and start over again as how they see fit.

Speaking for all we know ideas. The 5 hypercorps and the Clans could all be secretly run by the Omega manipulating the humans in to fighting each other, while the Omega move about with their plans unnoticed.
I don't PvP becasue my rlpeen is big enough so I don't need to make up for it with my epeen.

Hmm, ok let's see if I can remember the book and all that I read years ago.

The Omega infiltrated Earth to conquer Humankind by creating a virus first to kill a large number of people to make it easier for them to dominate the world.

Now the Omega had to be sent by the Unredeemed, since they were their creation.

I think they were sent because the Redeemed were involved in the creation of Homo Sapiens (humans), and saw Earth as a potential danger in the future as Humankind would expand and eventually reach Rubi-Ka and stand against the Redeemed.

Ok, skip to the fall of the Omega, some manage to escape back to the Shadowlands, some managed to change their original plans and created Omni-Tek to change the way their controlled Humankind, instead of through direct force... they outsmart the humans by controlling them through "employment opportunities".

"The Savior" Martin may have seen this, that something was wrong and likely found out about RK/SL before it was discovered and decided to take a long trip to meet the Redeemed.

Of course because of technological progress taking place while he was still traveling, Omni-Tek "discovers" RK by "accident", which very likely was planned by the Omni-Prime Board of Directors (Omega).

The Omega still live, in Omni-Prime and in the Shadowlands as Unredeemed Minions. Maybe not as numerous as before they were defeated on Earth,

Not all omnis are evil, but it's pretty clear what the Corporation stands for, and how far they are willing to go for profit and power. Like Kintaii said, an employee would have to be "deluded, insane, or have had their brains re-wired" to think OT is benign (well the re-wired part I think would fall under Reform Department).

From a certain pov, the Sentinels are also evil... they kill neutrals on sight, their leader is a egomaniac who bases his actions on personal loss. Silverstone became who he is because his family was killed by OT. If they were still alive, the Sentinels may not exist.

Omni-Tek's leadership, is clearly evil. Those who they employ are not blind, some even try to balance things out by not being hostile against the "sworn enemy" of the Corporation.

From what I can see, nobody has their hands clean. The Redeemed are clearly involved with the clans (Lord Galahad, Leader of the Knights of Avalon Clan is a Redeemed himself).

    So...

Redeemed, Clans. Forces of good who have a few bad apples.
Unredeemed, Omni-Tek. Forces of evil, who have a few good apples.
