    Funcom employee 18.3.11 Update Release Notes

    18.3.11 Update Notes

    * A new default and more detailed default map created by members of the community is now a part of the AO client.

    * The new birthday buidling is now revealed. If the door to yours does not work please contact Customer Service who will remove the building with you and supply you with a new one. Do NOT remove the building yourself.

    * Daily missions now scale exactly according to your level. Missions include: Extraction, A Contigent Spy, One Green Hill, One Foggy Hill.

    * Prototype Formula can now be cancelled by the user. Doing this will fail the mission.

    * Monsters for Missions: Slum Town, Nomad Camp, Crash Site and System Intrusion have been tweaked down to make them easier to complete for people at the beginning for the level range.

    * One Green Hill and Foggy Hill now have obvious visual indicators of where the event can be triggered.

    * The escort NPC for "Extraction" now stops further away from the exit to avoid players running outside by mistake.

    * Significant rewards have now been added to the remaining Key Quests and Civilization mission lines (Scheol, Adonis, Penumbra and Inferno) in Shadowlands.

    * Silium's Combined Mercenary Headwear is now usable by Shades.

    * Friendly AOE's will longer benefit your opponents in duels.

    Ok, i'll repost one of my post about the helmets here in hope it will get some attention



    Also, while fixing the headpieces make sure they also all buff all damage types and not like it is now, some helmets are missing a few modifiers, extremly annoing... (comb scouts missing proj as an example)

    I think is more exp like the other quest heard is some ubber exp from them so gives more reasion to do them

    The Nascence, Elysium & Scheol Key quests give mega XP rewards (daily mission reward size or similar) but the civilisation quests and Adonis, Penumbra & Inferno keys didn't give the same rewards.

    Aww, was hoping for the new pvp area and/or alien missions today. New xp rewards is nice tho, maybe I'll actually do the scheol quest on my crat now

    Btw Means, there's a difference between "longer" and "no longer"

    The new PvP area will be available in "test conditions" on the live dimensions...but only in a controlled manner with supervison. When it is available for testing it will be a terminal beside the 220 Battlestation signup...when it is not available the terminal will be gone.

    We'll be around to watch how it goes and collect feedback and suggestions before it goes live in a unrestricted fashion.

    The alien missions are not complete yet...but are being worked on

    okay since you deleted my post ill rephrase it: why do u make a building "live" if you know there are likely to be bugs with it? just wondering....

    By that logic, no games should ever be released as there's likely to be bugs in them. Need evidence? Just look at the vast numbers of patches released to almost every game, sometimes on the very next day from release.

    Ooops.

    Seems we have a small problem here. In my desire to give something new this year I over-stepped a bit of the technology I wasn't aware of when it comes to creating new buildings that actually have an "inside". Apparently the location the door leads to is stored on your city controllers when the building is actually built. If the building doesn't HAVE an inside when it is built then regardless of what we do with it later the inside will never work...until the building is placed AGAIN.

    This means unfortunately if you have "placed" your wrapped building in your city you will need to petition to get a new one before you will be able to access the inside. If you haven't placed it yet...DON'T. Wait until we update the building THEN place it.

    If you HAVE placed it. Petition from your city. The GM will watch you delete your current building then supply you with a new one to be placed when the new building has been "revealed". Do NOT delete it before speaking with the Customer Service representative.

    Again...my bad about the building. Sometimes the systems still manage to surprise me.
    If you didn't construct the building before it was revealed, you'll be fine.
