    My Idea for Anarchy Online

    From talking to longtime orgmates and friends, reading post after post in "Game Suggestions", I see a common complaint, the grind.

    This game is now a rush to 220 so people can "start" playing their toons. All the instances you need to grind for your end game setup and the buffing items to put them on.

    My suggestion is to lessen the grind and the end and spread it around throughout the level ranges. For instance starting in the subway or even newbie island, you start collecting items for end game items that come from RK, such at D Chest, RBP, even though they are more midgame items.

    In Shadowlands, maybe start off on quests to gather a full set of symbs that as you gain levels, you get new quests to upgrade them until they reach ql 300.

    There could be numerous quests for any of the items. My idea is just to spread the grind for these items over all the level ranges, not just the bottleneck at 220.

    I do think some items should be off limits for this idea, ex: boc, xan beta symbs, xan weapon upgrades.

    Interested in what other people have to say about this.

    No, that would make AO way to easy, and I don't want that, that's what makes AO so different.

    Beer makes a good point.

    The bottleneck at 220. It's a bottleneck though from about 215-220.

    Where is the content for 151-214?

    Ado hecks, DR and APF? You can't do a damn thing worth teaming for in APF until 215ish, so thats out of the question.

    I agree, we need to be collecting stuff way earlier. like leveling symbs, TSing stuff that can only be applied on a endgame item, like weapon upgrades, tier TSing pieces, or VP packets, or token packets, upgraders types for weapons, or a similar item which bumps the QL of your symb up 10 levels.

    Also, upgrade the mods on Tier to make it directly comparable to OFAB. Bring back some of the worth of these things.

    And, bump, make all these things available to be found throughout the game, not JUST at high TL7.

    I agree, maybe Tara should be instanced along with rest of the end game encounters or make it a static dungeon with a max level of 200 to enter.

    Tara is a pvp dungeon. Emphasis on the pvp. If you instance it you destroy the whole concept of the dungeon.

    I totally disagree with this. You don't need Dchest, RBP, or Igoc to be good.

    You just need to come do the tara encounters with the rest of the population.

    Tara is the last fun thing in AO. It hasn't been instanced, and if it is, it'll probably be the death knell for this game.

    Every community event has been abolished "because I want my phatz"

    We need less instancing to make the community stronger. But, I do agree that some things we could gather from earlier to make the grind a bit easier.

    I think the daily missions, when implemented and expanded upon, could be utilized for these types of things.

    On a side note, getting shade alpha spirits on an end game shade is probably the biggest grind ever as far as end game content goes.

    I personally hate Tara and never go there. It's a massive lagging assist zerg in too small rooms that has nothing to do with pvp.

    If i need an item from that place i'd rather farm the credits and buy it. (which is probably faster anyway)

    I 100% agree with this op. maybe not tara items so those worthless so called pvpers can farm their welfare points and bid on rbp so they can sell 2 minutes later.
    But lvling symbs, with quests to upgrade, lvling armor and weapons that are actuallydecent that require you to go to different areas of rk is a great idea.

    TS piece like for engy gun with many thing? Some part only use late?
    I like idea for make all content use.

    Quest for kill (NPC random chose) 5 dyna for part. Mission before level X for like CRU mission.
    Please, give change form. Want main be neutral. Red vs Blue are boring now.

    Everyone is in a rush to get somewhere theyre not prepared for.

    The "better" solution is to slow everyone down.

    Add in a daily XP level cap, meaning that you cant just power level all the time.

    Once youve reached your XP level cap, you can keep going by doing research instead.

    There, that should cause world peace, cure hunger, reduce kiting, ensure people learn how to play their professions and give people time to acquire gear instead of just levelling.

    This is... the by far most stupid thing I've seen...

    Capping people to a max XP-gain per day?
    What if people want to grind XP for 20 hours straight, with an already capped research?

    Why abolish the freedom of this game just because there is kiters?
    Its not the XP thats the problem, its kite hill...
    Rather see kite hill demolished along with every other safezone in AO... Make hecks run away from a 220 doc/enf, for instance, would be much, much better!

    It should take years of play to get to 220, not 1 sleepless weekend

    Excluding the things it might "fix", it just forces people to think, engage in content in an orderly fashion and not end up at 220 with QL100 implants and some random sub-par equipment.

    Are you going to orchestrate a mass suicide when they close up shop too? That's the only way I'd totally agree you mean serrus bidnes. Youtube vid or it didn't happen.

    Problem with the game is that there's not as much easy to obtain good gear in lower lvls this makes people power lvl past these gimps ranges to where the gear is at. Seriously unless u have a set of ai armor laying on 1 of your twinks nobody is going to spend 1 billion creds or farm for weeks to get a couple peices of ai armor when they will out lvl it in minutes.

    Technically OFAB is obtainable at any lvl and is decent. The downside is that it's not really worth the time to farm at lower levels so it's a bit impractical unless you want your toon to stay at that lvl.

    The biggest issue that I see is symbs (and I'm not a huge fan of how ai armor has been maintained as the end all be all for year on end :yawn) symbs are just painful snd expensive... Especially at lvls around twink range.. Those tend to be ridonculous.

    They should take off the nodrop tags on OFAB armor AND weapons below ql 200 this way people can more easily obtain the items with there higher lvl characters. I really see it as a shame that they did all that work to put more items in the game that almost nobody but maybe 150-174 twinks and 210+ chars use and also put buyable armor/weapon upgrades in the shop.

    I have even a better idea why not add in new missions that give OFAB armor and weapons as rewards they could put them on rk make so froobs can also do them this way they can see new cool gear and give the incentive to go pay to play. I am sure if a froob had a bunch of awesome gear sitting in his backpacks that they couldn't use it make them think more and more about going pay to play instead of way the game is now there's basically nothing atm that would entice you to pay to play the game.
