Since this seems to be the only way to get a message through to people at funcom, I am going to make a request. Please get one of the designers to put something up on the community website regarding what is happening specifically with the various professions and the work that is being done or considered, and the order in which we can expect changes. I am tired of the official forums, and the endless runaround we the players get from various funcom "authorities". I frequent various fansite forums and see people who have posted email discussions with
GM's and support and then go on the AO official forums and see Cosmik or Cz directly contradicting what was told people elsewhere. You guys really need to get your stories straight and I think a profession specific section to the In Progress portion of the website would be the best way to do it. Break it down for each profession specifically what is being worked on for the next up patch, what is in the works to be seen soon (soon being no greater than 3 patches away), and what is just floating around in the idea area.
Remember that "No suprises policy" those 'specialists' were going to implement that funcom supposedly brought in to enhance their customer relations, well as it stands the only no suprises policy seen is that you aren't actually fixing the professions. You keep adding new content yes, and this is a good thing, I commend this effort, but little is seen about actually fixing that which is already broken. We need information! If at the very least just to give us some shred of hope that you are aware of our problems and working on it, rather than just canceling accounts because it appears that nothing is getting done. For instance, when will the Armor Class vs Damage system be fixed? As it stands, you may have this massive weapon item pool, but anyone that actually plays the game knows that there are only a very few specific
items are effective based on the system currently in place. Shotgun users use Vektor, Krutt, Defenders. Sword users use Rider Executioners. Blunt users use Sledge hammer. Snipers use the Counter Sniper rifle. Assault rifle users use Nova Flow, Steiner, Westinghouse. Martial Artists have their fists and grossly ineffective and bugged weapons and special attacks. People are being forced into a cookie cutter mold by a broken system. The rest of the weapons in the game are all in all useless and will get you killed in higher levels if you try to base a character off them.
Please funcom support, take my words to someone that will get some change implemented. The players desperately need to know where they, their professions, and the major issues of the game stand in an official sense, and you can't afford to keep driving players away from the game.
