Thread: OOC - Where are we going?

  1. #21
Although.. I´ve gotta give it to you. Rubi-Ka could use some organized conflicts between guilds and clans, that eventually could spill out into the public.

    Heksa

I agree whole heartedly with Bliqz... and in response to Heksa's
statement this has happened on a few occassions.

With the help of Baxie, Sambika their guilds and mine at the time
Whisper's Edge I started a small little role play scenario where I
had obtained damaging information against the Council fo Ares.
Turned out Omni wanted the info to discredit the CoA more than the CoA wanted to keep it uderwraps. The Blackhand captured me and held me captive trying to obtain the where abouts of this encrypted disc.

    Long story short..
The roleplay that started out involving Whisper's Edge Mercury
Dragons The Blackhand Rubi-ka Outfitters and a few others..
Turned into a huge Rescue-Battle in a small fishing village in
2HO area spilling out to Non-RP guilds. TBH WE CAS MD MoK
Mockers Synergy Factor Apoc several others that escape me.
Turned out to be one fo the largest non-Tower/non-FC event
    PVP battles to be had.

I really must applaud Lexus, amounst all the touchy feely
moderate clanners its not easy to be a a hardlined extremist.

There is a need for some healthy conflict. and I like the idea of meeting once and a while to get the ball rolling.

    Angry

    OOC:
this just pisses me off! Let me remind you that when CoA, which arguably was the most extrimist of all alliances, tried to do something, we got so much hatred directed towards us that it was just awful. People refused to deal with us because we were 'extrimists', then a number of guilds left the alliance because of CoA's 'bad rep'. Everytime we tried to argue on the forums we got shouted down with slogans like, "All you want is power!", "Redruum wants to rule the Clans!" etc. We had Rubikon Outfitters (forgive my spelling) actively plotting with Omni against us and two major splits from the guild that almost finished CAS off.
What I am trying to say is that while I personally would love to play/RP a villain and spout rhetoric against Omni-Tek, Neutrals and support the Sentinels, the moment I do that, I will get so much grief from both Clans, Neutrals and Omni that it would be unbearable, plus I will get shunned by a great part of the RP guilds.
I hope this is all in the past and the villains can rise again.

OOC: really understand your pain Fiqh. The NLF has gone through this some what, and I imagine will in the future. What I say is Revell in how many people you get to HATE your org if you are a villian. That is a measure of success. Don't get pissed of in real life. I sometimes walk the streets and people start spouting off at me so I engage them, sometimes angering them even more. This makes me feel like I'm having an impact on the game and peoples experiances. Providing story, giving them a cause agains my cause. It's really altruistic if you think about it . Extremists, moderates, criminals, lawgivers, Villians, saints, and anything that anyone can think up can succeed if you are comfortable with that role. If you are sensitive to what others think about your actions maybe the Villian role isn't for you. If you have political aspirations maybe outwardly proclaiming your desire to rule isn't the best political move...etc etc. Find a role you are comfortable with, remember your Organizations Outward appearance can be managed, your inside feelings and goals can be your own.

Fiqh.. you shouldnt be pissed off.
As much as my character Cyani oppossed the CoA you all had
done what was needed and provided an Extremist oposition
for the moderates to protest and critisize along with a worthy
Omni enemy. The problem I have with the CoA is they influenced
the game were recognized in the storyline and yet bow out
because.. Oh everyone hates us.. Guess what its hard to be the
    Tough Cop...

I always hear what great leaders Redruum and Windguaerd are
and I believe ther are decent. It just pains me that they would
constantly get handed opportunities constantly, soak up their 15
min of fame and then wait for the next helping. Many other
roleplayers work hard out there to provide interesting events
stories and conflicts.. Savoy and her many roles.. Lexus and her
fanatical outlook. Nelida and her moderate fight for peace without
war, Templus and her ice cold loyalty to Omni Tek.. the list goes
    on.

Thing is CoA had wonderful opportunites and a firm hold in the
storyline and they threw it away twice. So no sympathy from me.

    /end rant

    all OOC btw
