    Silence. Little else echoed within her relatively bare apartment in West Athen aside from the occasional waft from turning of pages, intermixed with the odd whimper or sob. Night had fallen, both on Rubi-Ka and on her brother, and all that seemed to follow was an abyss of loneliness and fear.

    Emiliy could find little comfort in her surroundings; the euphoria that had seized at her the moment she had walked into this new flat - this new home - had vanished without a trace at the moment Lynar had said "he's dead." Taking to the streets - and to Newland - was similarly incapable of quelling the tears in her eyes and sorrow in her rapidly beating heart. Even as she had passed cautiously through Newland, eyeing every face, tuning in on every whisper, and finally arriving at the place that Alamexis had spent his final seconds of life, peace evaded her, to be replaced slowly with an ever-building rage.

    And so she sat in her apartment. And she read. Slowly she became enthralled in the words - his words - printed upon the pages. And despite scattering tears across almost every page, Emiliy finally drifted off to sleep with a slight smile on her face, holding the book tightly.

    Early in the evening yesterday shortly after the event in Newland City...

    Lynar had reach West Athen without incident, and Jimmy had followed right along further behind him. "A nite at the Cup and a few drinks to celebrate the beginning of a beautiful War to come over the horizon."

    As he got closer to the Cup a dull pounding began in his skull, a slight pulse. "Got to get this device out of my head soon, its acting up." he sighed to himself. As he round the corner and was about to the entrance his head pounded, his hand flexed as if it where holding a rifle grip as his fingers squeeze an imaginary trigger... "What in tha hell..." Thats when he saw her, dressed in a shimering white hooded cloak, with her very own guardian bot. "It must be the mark, the one that was suppose to show up... DNA sequence is unmistakable..."

    He quickly dashed into the Cup... "Someone has to bring her the sad news of her brother... why not those so ultimately responsible." he thought with a chuckle. In the corner of the Cup he quickly changed his clothing, opting for a simple black cloak and no weapon... he disguised himself as a simple enforcer, "This should provide sufficent cover..." he hoped as he exited the Cup.

    Emiliy Age was strolling the alley between the back of the shop and the front of the Cup as he came out into the cool evening. She wander a little further and then enter the backyard area for those newer to Rubi-ka and of course home to so many people's apartments... he silently followed her.

    "She is not alone..." he cursed. Two others where waiting there, a tall female nano-mage surprisingly griping a agent type rifle and a tall female blonde trader... "What part to play here..." He allowed them to talk shortly before making his move. Finally he approached Emiliy and began his story... shortly there after Uwen a friend of Emiliy and past target appeared so he too learned Lynar's story of seeing the two Omni InterOp agents gun down her brother, of the mysterious nanos that were used, and in the end his flight from the scene at the threat of further Omni-Tek killing, starting with himself...

    He had to strain himself from grinning as he watch her joy fade only to become replaced with pain and anguish. It was a happy moment for Lynar to see a former Omni-Tek employee so racked with quilt... and a new hate for their former employer. Emiliy ran of in a screaming fit of denial with the tall blonde gaving chase, but Emiliy had already disappeared from sight into her apartment and rapidly shut off her comm... the nano-mage tried to reach her several times despite this.

    The tall nano-mage began questioning his story and ask many questions concerning the agents... Lynar was vague but laid out the nesscessary specifics, the important ground work as he had discuss so many times with the others like himself. Lynar became afraid when his disguising nanos began to wane... they were soon going to no longer hide his profession... this was indeed dangerous to his well being should it occur.

    During the discussion Lynar wandered off to sit by a lake... stating fatigue had overcome him. Sometime later Uwen had come along behind him. A small time passed and a message from Jimmy buzzed in his ear... "They sent Uwen to watch you. You should get out of there." "I have no where to go but one of these apartments." he whispered into his comm. "Do it I will distract him." came Jimmy's only reply.

    As Lynar stood a bright flash appeared in front of him and Uwen... shielding his eyes he made a dash for the apartments. "STOP COME BACK HERE!" came a shout from Uwen as he regained his vision. Lynar didn't even glance back as he entered the apartment... "Trapped... how will I get out of such an area." he thought to himself. "They have left Uwen to watch the door, don't come out until he leaves." came a short burst of voice over the comm static. "Aye. Will do." he replied.

    So Lynar sat for a few minutes as Jimmy sent him further information. "They left someone to watch you, come out and peek where her location is." Jimmy finished. Lynar exited the apartment and stood on the walk way scanning the area... A tall blonde headed woman stood at the end of that walkway, not the same woman that had been with the nano-mage, but a guard none the less, he re-entered his apartment.

    "Jimmy I have an idea." he spoke as a smile crawled across his features.

    Shortly after Lynar stood outside of the backyard watching the nano-mage and trader from earlier standing outside the Cup... getting by the guard they had left did not prove so difficult as he had imagined. She still stood inside waiting for her appointed mark to appear, but Lynar had left his apartment in armor only, a toting a rifle, and wearing his ski-mask, obviously throwing off whoever was outside in their search for a black cloaked enforcer.

    He walked outside of the West Athens gates and headed for Tir... from there to Borealis and lay low... obviously those he had encounter would find his behavior strange and wish to question him. Fortunately for him they only knew him to be a weak enforcer.

    Lynar stopped outside of his hideout within Borealis and unbutton his cloak a little, a shiny Omni-Tek InterOps badge shined in the dark nite as the moon light played across it... "So it begins anew..." he thought while taking a deep breath, "The clans shall rise again!"

    The air warped and fizzled about as the grid terminal hummed with life. a not so unusual action as the rather rickety exit terminal exhumed it's passenger. Lexus stood wavering for a moment as her body reconstructed on the barren grounds of the desert outpost in Mort. The winds whipped harshly across her almost expressionless face biting like tiny knives into her skin. The area was thick and gaseous from the toxic pits that loomed nearby, enough to make any lesser person violently ill..but the sounds, the sights and the smells of this place echoed of a new home for the young stoic Colonel. She kept her head lowered tot he ground, as if she was counting each step to an unseen destiny, all around her were the sounds of gun shots and cries of pain as her young clan bretheren exchanged fire with brutal cyborg troops..it was something that occured daily, Mort was ripe with unusual creatures. A smile almost crossed her lips as she admired the future of her clan honing their skills in real combat and not the cuddly embrace of hand picked missions. Her eyes squinted as she tried to make out her destination through the heavy fumes of smoke and piercing sunlight. It was quite clear where she was headed, the looming Sentinel outpost that sat in the middle of a toxic waste filled ravine. The noxious river teemed and brooded with an unhealthy glow as the Sentinel guards placed there continued their regular patrols without a flinch. Lexus paused for a moment, prefering to place her helmet on before proceeding. The tendrils of her CAS helmet dug into her skin with no little discomfort, but it was a feeling she had grown to love, just as the mask secured itself around her face, her hud blinked as a small grid flashed across her visor - highlighting a nearby target. Before she could turn about she she heard a shot race her way, the unmistakable fire of a Heavy Gamma beamer. It radiated and cracked towards her in a split second and exploded against her reflective field and sizzled before charging and heading back in the direction in which it came in a flash, stunning the target that stood mere feet from her. "I must be getting soft if I let a cyborg get that close to me" she lamented, standing erect carrying her huge and powerful Hellspinner cannon.

    "You have no place her human, prepare to meet your fate" The Cyborg replied, her voice deep and metallic, her weapon trained firmly on Lexus. Lexus grinned underneath her mask and muttered to the obviously inexperienced cyborg "and I thought this trip was going to be boring" with that she quickly rolled to her left as the cyborg unleashed another terrible blast from her weapon, missing Lexus by mere inches as it found it's way into the sands, scorching it with heated energy. The cyborg hesitated briefly in an attempt to reaquire it's target, a second just long enough for Lexus to spring to her feet..hefting her powerful cannon she unleashed a fury of radioactive fire, it screeched into the desert air like a thousand nails dropping onto a sheet of metal from high above. The cyborg squealed in pain as Lexus emptied her clip, corroding the cyborg's body like ash. On a nearby hill the Sentinel guards gathered, curious as to the commotion going on near their structure, they waved to one another as they realized it was just Lexus cleaning up some local trash.

    She stood over the charred remains, and upon grinding them into the ground with her boot she commented "by the way, you guys make nice weapons". The guards laughed as she approached the installation, each slapping her on the back as she proceeded..it made her feel comfortable, and wanted, her unusual style was often frowned upon by her closest friends, Maephina and Vixentrox. This was a different place altogether, here she felt like a warrior, a fighter, a shaper of the destiny of her beloved clans. These warm thoughts drifted in her mind as she waled throught he heavy meta partitions that shielded the military installation - they seemed to carry her to a far off place where she was oblivious to the many personell inside that greeted her. It was a base like any other, commanding officers were busy at work showng troops the fundamentals of unarmed combat, and in other rooms still loyal Sentinels worked frantically at sensor grids and computer terminals, gathering and monitoring the information being fed in from the outside world. The euphoric daze Lexus was in seemed to be cut short as a rather aged man stood before her, blocking her path. He was of stocky build and rather robust, his hair thinning and gray. "Colonel Mirabelli, we've been expecting you, ahem" the man coughed, holding a tissue to his mouth, his breathing seemed strained and exhausted, possibly from prolonged exposure to the unforgiving atmosphere just outside. "Silverstone is waiting Colonel" he continued, after wiping his mouth lightly with his tissue.

    Lexus was lead past a huge set of doors into a spacious planning room, at the end of it was a metal table with a holographic representation of the planet of Rubi-Ka looming over it. Silverstone took a place next to it, staring off into the rotating orb in deep thought. Lexus stood for a moment, not wanting to break the man's concentration. She watched carefullly as his gaze covered the image, he was a very tall and commanding person, stern and rigid, the image of a true leader Lexus thought, her own personal feelings seeping into the foreground of her mind. He was quite attractive too she thought, but quickly she nodded her head and cleared her throat. With that, Silverstone peered upwards, it was not often he left Tir, he usually stood looming over Fair Trade, but somehow today was different. "Colonel..It's about time you made it" Silerstone commented, taking a seat behind the desk and clicking off the image, bringing up instead a small computer terminal. Lexus stood at attention, it was obvious Silverstone was annoyed, she wondered to herself what it could be, she couldn't have been more than 2 minutes off her appointed time..she had the cyborg outside to thank for that. "Sir, the Colonel apologizes sir, you wished to see me sir?" Lexus abruptly retorted, knowing that the man before her had little patience. Silverstone nodded to Lexus' aged escort and the wheezing man quickly departed from the room before Silverstone decided to speak.

    "Colonel..you are a fine soldier, that can be said without question...." Silverstone said whilst peering at his terminal "Formalities aside however, we have a problem." Lexus hesitated a moment before replying "ss. Sir?"
    "Your behaviour Colonel and the uneeded attention you're bringing on this order" Silverstone said, his eyes not movng up once to gaze at Lexus. "A report here from a girl in West athen describing a person matching your description assaulting an Omni-Pol officer, and no sooner after this was filed, said officer having been found in a river in Borealis" Lexus moved to comment but her words seemed to freeze in her throat. "Also reports from my operatives that you frequently threaten various clan organization leaders..." Silverstone looked up for a moment, he furrowed his eyebrows trying to guess at what the woman before him was thinking, but could no son decipher it because of her helmet..nonetheless he continued with his displeasing reports. "Colonel, I admire your spirit, your fire, but this is unacceptable. The Sentinels have not been so well received as you are fully aware, we can not afford to alienate the clans at this point. The Omni-Pol officer is of no consequence, under any other circumstances I would have beat him to death myself, but doing so now would place me in a light I am trying to avoid currently" Lexus lowered her head, she knew her actions were extreme, her head buzzed as she tried to reflect, she couldn't understand exactly what was wrong with her as of late, the slightest things made her go off the deep end.

    "Colonel are you listening to me?" Silverstone snapped, his voice more firm and annoyed than before. Lexus immediately replied, straightening herself out as she focused on the moment "Sir yes sir, the colonel apologizes sir" Silvertonse recliend back into his chair, his gaze moving back down to the blinking terminal. "Good colonel, good. I'd like to groom you to be one of us, but I can't if you bring too much heat upon our operations here, I would hate to think Fisk was wrong about you. You are to be a Sentinel, and that means you should not bow down to any Omni or insolent clan or any other opposition to our cause, but BE discreet Colonel, carry out your operations in a more cautious matter" Lexus nodded and stood at attention "I will sir, again the colonel apologizes." Silverstone nodded and extended his hand, motoning for Lexus to sit. "Now that those affairs are out of the way I need you to tell me a few things, or what you know rather.." Silverstone turned his terminal around so that Lexus could see it. Lexus peered at the dossier on the screen, it was of Alamexis, the Omni lawyer who met a tragic end recently. "Yes, the lawyer sir, if the colonel may ask, what of him?" Lexus inquired. "Nothing in and of itself colonel, just another dead Omni to me, and being a lawyer makes it doubly satisfying. However it shows that another force is at work here, one the Sentinels are not familiar with currently..I admit to you that we haven't had the time for much espionage since we started defending Tir." Lexus shifted in her chair as she attempted to figure out what it was Silverstone wanted from her, espionage was a word she hated with a passion, subterfuge or just plain being subtle was not one of her strong points.

    "Let me get to the point Colonel, you are familiar with and or close with several people who knew this lawyer...." Silverstone lowered his eyes "Vixentrox..Braedon..Uwen, and even Maephina, who strikes me even more so as a good source of information, having spent her entire life as an Omni" Lexus squirmed in her seat, she was a bit uncomfortable,just how much did this man know about her friends...or at least, those who were her friends at one point she thought. Silverstone's words seemed to float by her, she didn't really feel there in the room, her mind began to buzz, it was a feeling she was a victim too lately, it wasn't quite a headache, but just as annoying as one, she passed it off as perhaps a slight malfunction with her implants. "In short Colonel..." Silverstone's words seemed to phase back into reality "I want you to find out who is behind this and if this person or persons are a threat to us, or perhaps a worthy ally to our cause, you know several key figures surrounding this incident, you are so far the best suited to investigate...and Colonel, try not to agitate these people, I cannot stress the importance of learning who is behind this" Lexus shook her head in an attempt to silence the faint buzzing before replying to Silverstone "Yes sir, I will do my best, but sir.." Lexus asked, removing her helmet and placing it on the floor next to her chair "What of that traitor Braedon? his relationship with Sezmra is no secret" Silverstone stroked his chin as he reclined "He is of no consequence, his kind brings shame to clans everywhere, however, use him, apologize if you have to, learn what you can about him and by extension Sezmra, don't make it sound too unconvincing, after all he does know you are a Sentinel sympathizer..after I am satisfied with what you find out about these two, Kill them both or not, it doesn't matter, do as you wish, their lives mean nothing in the scheme of the new order...that is all Colonel" Silverstone ended, standing up and turning towards the small window behind him. lexus saluted and as she turned to leave Silverstone spoke "and Colonel..be careful with Vixentrox and Maephina, I don't entirely believe they have the clans best interests in mind, don't allow your lusts to cloud your judgment" Lexus paused, her thoughts dangled on the two names that escaped Silverstone's lips, she had not seen her affections for the two as mere lusts, but with her behaviour recently, how would they know any different? She quickly focused however, she knew this was not the time to let her personal feelings interfere with her work, a new dawn was coming.she realized this as she grabbed her helmet and walked gallantly from the chamber.

    The time had come to prove herself to the Sentinels, she knew this well, and what better way to start her career than by pleasing Silverstone with her investigations, and without a second thought, Lexus made plans to visit the scene of the assasination.
    "Did I tell you that you could speak?....then why are you still talking?."

    Mid Morning
    4 Feb 29477

    Cathern rubbed her eyes and temples. It had been a long, gruelling night. The experiments and analysis had produced...nothing but more questions. A night's work only to leave more questions unanswered than those that were. Cathern sighed.

    The evening before had been one of tragedy. Alamexis was dead. Perma-killed. Lexy had completey announced her support for the Sentinals. That had turned into a big fight. One thing after another had happened.

    After the initial shock of hearing of Alamexis' death wore off, she had ordered Uwen to collect what ever bomb fragments and..bodily remains he could for testing. Cathern didn't trust Omni-Pol to run an investigation. They hadn't even shown up to collect evidence it seems. Very strange indeed Cathern thought.

    Uwen returned with several peices of the bomb and....a finger...all that really remained of the victim. Cathern had bid people good night and retired to her apartment. She checked to make sure no one had entered while she was out. All was in order. Cathern hit a secret button that opened a compartment with a code box in the wall. Punching in the secret code, she then stood back from the wall. A large panel opened and a work table slid out with built in testing equipment and a sundry of tools and gadgets.

    Cathern had learned much from the assassin that had been imprisoned in the mine with her. His teachings included how to shoot a rifle...how to sneak...and some of the secrets of making perma-death weapons. After Cathern's escape she spent long years searching secrets of perma-death. It became an obsession, but one she outgrew. The knowledge wasn't forgotten however, even though the thought of perma-death turned her stomach now.

    The first thing to be done was to ensure that the victim was indeed Alamexis. Uwen had collected a cup that Alamexis had used from Emiliy. Cathern swabbed the cup and placed the sample in a DNA analyzer. The machine worked for a few seconds.

    TEST COMPLETE -- NO ERRORS: DNA SAMPLE RECORDED

    Cathern grimaced as she placed a small portion of skin from the dismembered finger in the machine. Once again the machine worked for a few moments.

    TEST COMPLETE -- NO ERRORS: DNA SAMPLE RECORDED AND MATCHED TO 100% ACCUARACY

    Cathern sighed. Alamexis was truely..gone. A tear dripped down her cheek. Although she barely knew the man in person, she knew he was the best hope the Clans had to get a replacement for the Tir Accord. Well, now that there was no doubt that Alamexis was the victim, she continued her tests on the bomb fragments.

    Cathern took what looked to be..coffee..and placed it in another machine that recorded chemical structures and was linked extensive data base of who manufactured the tested items. This test took much longer.

    TEST COMPLETE: HIGH GRADE COFFEE -- MANUFACTURER: NOT IN DATA BASE -- KNOWN TO BE IMPORTED BY SEVERAL CLAN TRADERS -- SAMPLE CONTAMINATED BY MUTATED NANO-BOTS

    Interesting Cathern thought. Why would coffee have been in the bomb? That didn't make sense. Unless...could the bomb have been concealed in a package of coffee? That's possible. The large presence of nano-bots indicated what? She would have to get back to that.

    The next item was pretty mangled. What could this be? It looked like it was a dentonator. Cathern placed it itno the machine and waited.

    TEST COMPLETE: MARK 7 SPECIAL DENTONATOR -- MANUFACTURER: OMNI-TEK -- KNOWN TO BE USED IN NANO EXPLOSIVE DEVICES -- SAMPLE CONTAMINATED BY MUTATED NANO-BOTS

    Well...that was no suprise. Omni-Tek has long been the leader in military technology. Still, these were not that easy to get a hold of.

    The next piece looked like an empty receptive nano-bot container. Still, to be sure, into the machine it went.

    TEST COMPLETE: RECEPTIVE NANO-BOT CONTAINER -- MANUFACTURER: NANOS-R-US -- SAMPLE CONTAMINATED BY MUTATED NANO-BOTS

    Could the container have been used to store the mutated nano-bots instead of the ones normally used?

    The next two items were relativly intact. They seemed to be poison injectors. Cathern placed them into the machine one at a time...and got same results.

    TEST COMPLETE: MARK 17 POISON INJECTORS -- MANUFACTURER: OMNI-TEK -- MARK 17 POISON USED IN PERMENTANT DEATH DEVICES -- PRIVATE OWNERSHIP OF MARK 17 POISON FORBIDDEN UNDER OMNI-TEK LAW -- SAMPLE CONTAMINATED BY MUTATED NANO-BOTS

    Yes...Mark 17 poison. Cathern knew it well. It was used to scramble a targets DNA sequence. By itself it can't cause perma death, but it can cause problems when the victim goes to reclaim. Mutations of the victim most common effect upon rezz.

    Cathern checked the time. The whole evening had past. One more test and maybe she could rest.

    She promgrammed the device to identify the mutated nano-bots that was on all the items.

    TEST COMPLETE: NANOBOTS -- ERROR -- NANOBOTS ALTERED TO UNKNOWN SPECIFICATION -- EXTRAPOLATING POSSIBLE EFFECTS OF ALTERED NANOBOTS -- RESULT: ALTERED NANOBOTS WOULD BE LETHAL TO HOMO-SOLITUS BREED WHEN COMBINED WITH MARK 17 POISON; RECLAIM TECHNOLOGY FAILURE RATE OF 97%

    Cathern opened a comm link to her officers, then to Braedon, Fixerben, and Nelida to tell them the results of her nights work.

    Time to take a nap. She was asleep almost before she closed her eyes.

    Fixerben is startled by an urgent message flashing across his implanted eyes. Its from Vixentrox...

    "Hey, Ben, I found what killed Alamexis. It was a poison which is not supposed to be publically available, combined with a mutated form of NanoBot. Those two things together decrease resurrection success by 97%. Something else strange, I found Coffee on some of the debris from the explision, it was a rare imported coffee. Any ideas?"

    Fixerben jumps up and flips open his Comm.

    "Benjacrat knows everything there is to know about Coffee. I wonder if he knows anything about this."

    Fixerben taps a few buttons on his Comm, and Benjacrat speaks groggily through the unit.

    "huh...wha? Who is it?"

    "Its Fixerben, Vix found something interesting at the site of Alamexis' death. Some of the debris was covered with Coffee. It was a special coffee imported by Clan traders. What would an Omni be doing with Clan coffee?"

    "I dont know Fixer, Let me look into it later, its 6am and I havent slept in days..."

    "Ok, Just send me a message if you get anything."

    Monday Night
    February 3, 29477

    Christopher walked into The Cup. He saw Lesentia sitting at a table, her body facing the door but her head in her hands, sobbing. He looked down and saw three empty bottles of Hit-the-floor-jack on the floor and another on the table beside Lesentia. She looked up an saw Chris. He smiled sadly at her.

    "May I?"

    She nodded.

    "I.. I understand you and Malcom were.. close."

    She nodded as tears rolled down her face.

    Chris went on:
    "He... I... We were friends."

    She nodded again.

    Chris shook his head:
    "Is there anything I can do for you?"

    She shook her head and started sobbing.

    Chris hung his head:
    "There was a clanner there. Lynar... he told us what happened. He said their were two InternOps people there that told him to get lost and that they were never there."

    "But why... why would InternOps do something like this?"

    "I don't know. All I do know is that Lynar was acting very odd. Very odd. He ran into an apartment after we were questioning him and he locked us out."

    She started sobbing profusely.

    Chris got up, concerned.

    "Its a dream."

    Chris sat back down.

    She continued:
    "Its a dream. No.. no its a nightmare. A nightmare. This isn't real. I'll wake up and he'll be back and he'll be fine and everything will be ok."

    Chris lowered his head smiling sadly. He rose his head back up:
    "I wish it was a dream. I really do. I wish this entire planet and this entire conflict was one big nightmare. I wish that its David Marlin having a nightmare on his ship and that when he wakes up, all of this will be gone. But as far as I know, I'm real enough. And as far as I know, unfortunately, this is real enough. And I don't think Marlin will wake up. I don't think I will ever wake up. I don't think any of us will... or can."

    She broke down sobbing. Chris looked helpless. She looked up:

    "I need to be alone."

    Chris nodded and she ran out of The Cup. He picked up an unopened Hit-the-floor-jack and drained the bottle. Two tears fell down his face. His first in 16 years and his last. He wiped them away, threw the bottle down and went outside to unpack his Yalmaha and fly to Vix for orders.

    Cathern awoke with a start! How could she be so rude. Other people needed to know this information. While she slept, others grieved.

    Cathern opened a comm link to Uwen and explained the results of her research. "Uwen, please inform Malcom's friends and..Emiliy the results of my work. You know who they are better than I. Thank you Uwen." Cathern clicked the comm off...and returned to sleep

    Nelida wakes after a short and restless sleep. The previous evenings events a confusing throb in her head.

    Trying to sort things into a logical order she recalls briefly speaking with Alamexis who assured her that Emiliy was packed and would be meeting her and Cyani in West Athens at the appointed time. Emiliy had indeed showed up on time but after only a few moments of conversation a young agent by the name of Lynar showed up. From that point on things became very confused.

    Lynar informing Emiliy of the murder of her brother at NLC grid and then the dissapearance of Lynar follow by the dissapearance of Emiliy still puzzled Nelida. Her and Cyani had carefully approached the NLC grid term but found nothing...not even OP and a crime scene investigation. How strange that the murder of one of their own recieved so little attention...

    Later meeting with Lesentia, who at first seem nonplussed but quickly became overwhelmed with emotion. Nelida thinks outloud, "There is much more here than meets the eye."

    Reviewing her day's todo list she notices that she has yet to deposit the payment made by that Jimmyt fellow for the coffee sale.

    James "Jimmyt" Thompson, now there was an odd one...a young Clan agent that needed a large supply of a specialty coffee on short notice...well, she had had some left over from an overage on the last shipment and was happy to find a customer so willing to pay her up front for it. But an intermediary for a coffee delivery? How odd...and an agent at that... Well, maybe he's moonlighting a bit to cover some personal extravagence. Nelida shrugs and balances her books then prepares to head off planet to look into a new business venture.

    Chris recieved the information from Vix. He thought about who to release the information to. He knew Raquel was good friends with Malcom and Randa was his lover. But were they not both in OmniInternOps? But what if the assassins were not Omni, as Chris was beginning to believe? But what if they were? His conscience argued back and forth with his logic. It was the right thing to tell them.. they had a right to know... His conscience seemed to have won out. If Malcom loved Randa, he could tell her. If Malcom and Braedon both trusted Raquel, he could too. But had Malcomg trusted Randa? Did Malcom and Braedon both actually trust Raquel, or were they just good friends? Even if they didn't trust them, was this information THAT dangerous? Maybe the coffee might be... we don't know who gave that. Its just what we found? Surely thats ok to share? His conscience and his logic agreed. He opened a commlink to Raquel:

    "We've found remnants of the bomb.. and.. and nothing. We found the remnants of the bomb. The bomb's components ensured a 97% reduction in the success rate of resurrection. I thought you should know. I'm sorry..."

    He had thought about telling her about the finger, but decided against it. The gruesome details were not important. He sighed, closed the link and open one with Randa:

    "We've found the remnants of the bomb. The components ensured a 97% reduction in the success rate of resurrection. We also have confirmed that it was Malcom. I thought you should know. I'm...I'm sorry..."

    Ahh! This, at least, was good news. A message from Emiliy saying she was safe and had just needed some time to herself after hearing of her brothers death. And a plea to find her brothers murderers...

    Fixerben hears his comm beeping as he walks towards the West Athen Grid Terminal. He opens the Comm and Benjacrat is on the other end.

    "Hello Fixerben, I have some important information."

    "Go for it Benjacrat"

    "Well, it seems that coffee you spoke of, it does come from a Clan trader. OT can not get it onto this planet. Its...lets just say illegal. It has properties other than just 'waking you up in the morning'."

    "Go on."

    "Well the coffee contains a small amount of a special mineral. A mineral that is good for your body, but also blocks any type of scanning device if the coffe is more than one quarter of an inch deep. So this poison, and the bomb, and all the components Vix told you about could have been hidden inside that Coffee."

    "Well, atleast now we know how the bomb got so close to him. But why in the world would he want coffee like that?"

    "Well, that part I dont know. We should go to Emiliy's tonight and inspect her house. Make sure they didnt try to slip anything into her Java supply. That girl loves my Crat coffee."

    "Very good, we will check her place out before the meeting tonight. Maybe I will get her to come along."

    "Fixer, you be careful with her now. You hear me?"

    "Yes, I hear you" Fixerben laughs.

    Cyani thinks to herself

    Hrrm... recalls her conversastin with Lynar

    Switches open her datapad assistant and begins to browse notes regarding Lynar

    Something about Lynar just doesnt seem right...

    Lynar was very descriptive in placing Omni InterOps at the scene and the ones responsible for Alamexis's demise... Almost too descriptive noting their uniforms and insignias as if to emphisise that the men wear Inter-Ops.

    Scratches her head and scruntches her nose

    Something smells fishy...
    Lesentia and Sezmra both well respected Inter-Ops special
    agents both claim to have no knowledge of Inter-Ops sanctioned
    presense in the area at the time of Alamexis's death.

    I would understand Sezmras reluctance to admit such, but
    Lesentia was truely shaken and her relationship with Alamexis
    was no secret to many.

    Cyani takes a deep breath and sighs...

    Cyani then pauses for a moment.. Shakes her head and mumbles..

    I hate to have to do this...
    Time to call in a few favors... He is really only one I can trust for this.. a lone wolf not really loyal to either side.. guess that makes him perfect..

    PDA.. establish a secure comm link..

    Comm Link established

    Cyani types in a series of digits and a calm cold voice answers

    Secure line? This is not a social call I take it.

    I may have an assingment for you.. We need to meet.. Regular fee.. and this may involve some "Wet Work"

    Sure thing Princess... Ill contact you shortly.

    The Omni-Herald
    February 4, 29477

    Last night, Malcom Alamexis Age, the Omni-Tek lawyer who was recently engulfed in a swarm of controversy over his su****ious ties to and dealings with the clans, was found permanently dead in Newland City.

    One witness at the scene, who declined to identify himself when asked, claimed that he had witnessed two InternOps agents, possibly with Omni-Pol assistance, murder Mr. Age as he emerged from the grid. The validity of this claim is currently in doubt, however, as the man was later identified to be a member of the clans.

    In response to these audacious accusations, the Omni-Herald received an official statement from Omni-Pol this morning regarding the incident:

    "Omni-Pol fully and completely denies having any involvement whatsoever in the murder of Mr. Age. Furthermore, it is neither Omni-Pol's policy, nor its mandate, to undertake assassinations of any citizen, regardless of faction.

    Omni-Pol is investigating this matter. We will release no further details until our investigation is concluded."
    The Omni-Tek Security Council (OTSEC) is currently under adjournment, and as such no statement was available.

    The Herald did, however, speak with Omni-Pol General Lida "Templus" Pierce regarding the incident, who stated:

    "Mr. Age illegally corroborated with the clans, and just prior to the ‘incident’, had taken his sister into West Athen where she signed a clanner application. Both are in complete violation of corporate policies. So as far as I’m concerned that traitor got what he deserved."
    The Herald had wished to speak further with the esteemed General, but, with a large company of faithful officers in tow, General Pierce excused herself, her duty calling her elsewhere, and proceeded to Borealis.

    The Omni-Herald will report further as more details become available.

    Sitting up in her bed, Randa was watching the one thing that she had never hoped that she ever would have to see.

    The camera that she had placed in Newland was in the best spot possible to witness the horrible act that had occoured last night.

    She could see Malcom materilize near the terminal, the flash of light from the shot, the explosion...

    "Stop the tape."

    "Go back."

    "Stop again."

    Randa stared at the corner of the screen, staring intently at the 2 figures that were standing there.

    "Zoom in x4."

    She stared even harder at the man who was holding some sort of device in his hand.

    "Zoom x8."

    "Search the Omni-Pol Criminal database for anyone matching that description."

    As the computer beeped in acceptance, the video feed of the event played one last time.

    Watching this, Randa leaned back on the wall behind her, sobbing and wiping the tears away from her eyes.

    Lynar sat in his small hideout in Borealis, he was staring at his comm.

    "My my how the whirlwind is stirring..."

    News feeds rolled in of the death of Malcom "Alamexis" Age, outrage was the cry that went out, but very little action had actually taken place as a result...

    "Maybe Mr. Age wasn't as popular as suspected... maybe we should refocus our efforts in the other direction."

    Lynar's eyes flashed in a serious of thoughts, some so vile that even the hardest Sentinel might cry out in terror. His hand twirled a silver bracelet that held an inscription, worn from years of wear the characters were barely readable... "Yes, I am afraid we have to step things up considerably."

    He silently pocketed the bracelet, and slipped into the silent nite of Borealis to run his mysterious errands.

    The Voice of Freedom

    In response to the brutal murder of OmniTek lawyer and peace lover Malcom Age, the VoF has compiled this list of public statements. We are currently trying to get more, these are what we have, for now.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "It's a great tragedy that Alamexis had fallen prey to apparent radicals. Clan, Omni, or Neutral...you will be found out in time. Mark my words."
    -Cathern Vixentrox Flowers
    President of Whisper's Edge
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    "On some level, Mr. Age's death is a dark shadow upon peaceful relations with the North. While I did not agree completely with his plans, I did appreciate his motives - to further Omni-Tek's cause, even if in a more peace loving manner. Mr. Age will be missed amongst the Corporations ranks, and I assure you, his death, while marred by controversy and shadow, will not be ignored. We lost a very competent employee. This thing happens, and it always is a sad day, indeed. As of now, this incident will be investigated, by myself and many others. Any witnesses to the death and mystery surrounding Malcom "Alamexis" Age are encouraged to come forth with any information they see useful.

    Omni-Tek protects."

    -Raquel Sezmra Svancara
    SPARTA Operative

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "The following is a personal statement.
    I cannot claim to have known Mr Age especially well, it would be more correct to refer to us as having been work colleagues rather than friends. However, like many I do mourn his loss. Rubi-Ka will miss him. As my assignment on Rubi-Ka draws to a close, my final shuttle but a few weeks away, I feel it inappropriate to comment officially on Mr Age's extremely unfortunate demise, in the best interests of the Corporation. So rather than comment officially, I would rather if allowed pay him tribute by way of classic literature. Charles ****ens to be precise.
    'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the
    epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all doing direct the other way--in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.' 'It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known.'
    Goodbye Mr Age. I salute you. '
    -Garret "Bonefish" Silvestrini
    Director - SPARTA
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    "Ms. Age feels a tremendous degree of sadness at the loss of her beloved brother, Malcom Alamexis Age, and as such is in no condition to speak publicly. However, she has asked me to convey a brief message to you, on her behalf: 'The Omni-Tek agent thugs, undoubtedly assisted by the petty, greedy, neutrals, maliciously and intentionally murdered Alamexis. For this, I urge all clan citizens to seek ultimate and final retribution.'

    Best regards, "

    -Aleen Amacia Dellamora
    Family Friend

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "OmniPol caused the death of Malcom. They harrassed him and threatened to kidnap him forcing him to run out of The Cup and into the grid. He instinctively ran for Newland, where he was murdered. The thugs in OmniPol have killed one of the greatest Law minds in OmniTek. They didn't actually pull the trigger or set off the detonater, but they were the ones that forced him, through brutish tactics, into running and therefore dying. One would hope they would rethink their brutal tactics and criminal behaviour after this incident.
    We don't know who actually killed Malcom. Whether it was InternOps, OmniPol, or perhaps even militant Sentinel supporting clanners who disdain peace and democracy, we do not know. The one witness who claimed to have seen the entire event, an agent by the name of "Lynar", has disappeared. I call on all clanners to assist in finding these brutal terrorists and eliminating them, whether they are OmniInternOps, OmniPol, or Sentinels.
    Malcom had nothing if not a desire for peace between the clans and OmniTek. For this, he was killed. Is this the kind of world we want to raise our children in? This kind of nightmare where the good are murdered and the evil are powerful? This is a disgusting state of being here on RubiKa. I hope that Malcom's death will at least help show people that something is seriously wrong here. We must do something to change this, lest this good man's death be in vain."
    -Christopher Uwen MacGreggor
    Member Whisper's Edge
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Mr. MacGreggor added this today in response to OmniPol's statement:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "Of course OmniPol doesn't care! A crime has been committed... its not THEIR business to investigate! Oh, I'm sorry, am I being sarcastic? The cruelty and corruption of OmniPol is nothing short of staggering. It makes me sick to my stomach. The thugs in OmniPol are the ones that caused this good man to die. What were we to expect? An honest to goodness investigation from the police? Hah! If you expected that, you are naive. OmniPol investigate crimes... what a funny idea.
    Or is it that they can choose who's life matters? An OmniPol member is killed and they launch a full attack... er "investigation". Countless clanners are murdered and they do nothing. A respected Omni lawyer is murdered and they do nothing. They are not law enforcement. They claim that the Kaviera Mafia is bad? The hypocrisy disgusts me, like so much else about OmniPol."
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    When he had calmed down, Mr. MacGreggor asked us to assure readers that these comments are only directed at OmniPol and not at all OmniTek empoyees.

    The Voice asks readers to send in comments about Mr. Age or OmniPol. We will publish all material that is not childish.*

    Afternoon
    4 Feb 29477

    Cathern awoke slowly. She needed more sleep but there were things that needed to be done. At least she didn't have the nightmares supprisingly enough.

    She got dressed and made some coffee. Coffee. Who did she know that imported coffee? Flareon maybe? Nelida? Maybe she could talk to them about it.

    Cathern carefully stored all her gear back in the wall minus a few things, then went to the corner of her apartment and pressed her hand to a slightly discolored spot in the floor. There was a clicking noise and a hiss of air escaping as a panel in the floor lifted. The safe was coded to both DNA and her fingerprints. She stored the bombing evidence and her notes there. Closing the safe she went back to the few items she left out.

    Cathern thought to herself, "Things are getting dangerous." She took one of the devices and mounted it over her door. The camera recorder was no bigger than a small button and was built with "chameleon" technology. It instantly blended in with the walls coloration. She entered a few commands into her datapad. "There, that will let me receive a video feed whenever needed." She then took another device and placed it into a slot in the code compartment of her secret lab. The device was an added security feature. In the event the wrong code was entered, the device would project sparks and electrical smoke, making any intruder belive the panel shorted out. The code box would then be disabled for two hours.

    There! She sat down and did some routine paper work while drinking her coffee. Soon the RMC meeting was to start. "Wonder what new madness will befall us tonight.", she thought to herself grimly.

    Evening
    February 4, 29477

    Jimmy gritted his teeth as he watched through spy cameras the traitor MacGreggor and countless other traitors and engage and murder Sentinel guards outside the Tir Whompas and allowed disgusting Omnis and cowardly neutrals into the beautiful Tir.

    He watched and logged the meeting through surveillance cameras he had set up in the room, knowing the RMC meeting would be held their.

    After the meeting...

    A few of the traitors were trying to murder the guards so that the filthy Omnis and weakling neutrals could leave. MacGreggor took some shots at the guards but then just healed the traitors. Eventually, all the traitors were killed or had gone, MacGreggor included in those that had been killed.

    "Perhaps this will teach you some respect." Jimmy muttered to himself.

    No one paid more than a passing glance at him, nor said more than a word to him, and yet Radein felt the uncontrollable urge to watch each and every one of them bleed endlessly. Rage filled his heart and lit his mind afire after watching the traitorous clan members execute Sentinel after Sentinel, in order to permit the enemies of the clans - the pitiful fencesitters and the corporate dogs - enter the mighty city that had once been a Capitol for the Clans.

    Radein had slipped in silently, without a word, and stood in the shadows of the entraceway, eyeing each and every member of this pathetic "Rubi-Ka Mining Co-operative". And yet it was not the insolence nor the stupidity of these fools that caught his eye. It was a dragon. A Mercury Dragon.

    Long had legends been told of the mighty Council of Ares and its member Clans; names such as Clan Anarchist Syndicate and Mercury Dragons were the things of lore...of legend. Radein had eyed one such legend - Corrine Daimoness Wright - intently. There was fire in this one that had been restrained for far too long, and yet it still raged within.

    Sufficiently bored and thoroughly outraged at the words being spoken, Radein glanced once last time at the Mercury Dragon, silently took his leave, and proceeded to walk through Tir...
