R1 Roleplayer's Conference

The planned Rubi-Ka 1 Roleplayer's Conference will be held Sunday 10th of February at Reets Retreat at 20:00 GMT.
It will be open to roleplayers of all alignments. Guilds participating to this event will we asked to give a short, OOC presentation about themselves. If your guild intends to come but has not already signed up for this in the "RPG Session" thread, please reply to this thread or drop me a line at gsoylent@hotmail.com so that I can draw up a batting order for the guild presentations.

After the main event, we hope to hold a series of optional seminars and workshops and of course the full range of Reets entertainment facilities will be available. If you have a special roleplaying interest or project you wish to discuss in more depth than a short presentation would allow, let me know and I will try to reserve one of the Reets side rooms for you. For instance the South Rubi-Ka Society will be talking about the Rollerball League.

For non-guild roleplayers out there, this event might be a good chance to find a home. Note also that while the presentations and workshops are geared towards the guilds, we are open to submissions from private individuals or other forms of associations as well.

I'll be present at your conference.

As an independant lvl 10 neutral, I have had plenty of RP on Rubi-ka 1 - but only because I've created the character as a journalist...

I took a long time playing a character before that without a strong enough background or a good guild...(both my fault to some extent) and though I made some very good IC friends - real story was hard to come by.

My background is "live" Role Play - and so I'm planning to run some story with friends that involves a monster crew - requiring several people to spend a bunch of time teamed together making secondaries... and would love to know how much success others have had with that kind of thing. Online games are a very new medium for me...

If you'd like to find out about what I'm doing in game - I use the term Web-HUD interface or satellite upload to descibre the fact that as the game doesn't support text documents I am using the web... you can read Meranews at www.anarchy-meranews.org.uk

I'm a little unsure about this conference - as I think the best way to keep people RPing is to RP at them - rather than all get together and talk about how - I fear too many OOC ego's in one bar... But I will pop in - cos its great to see people are making lots of effort...

Merasandrin, don't get me wrong, I am a little unsure about this conference too. However, to use your example, to gather a monster-crew for a story you are planning to run, you need to get OOC and to make contacts with players from the other side of the conflict. This conference is an opportunity to make these contacts and see what other people are doing in roleplaying terms.

Give more Rp To Rubika is an great task , but i think its possible and work for it .

The main event will be in the dance hall (under the glass roof). After the formal part of the conference is over an roundtable discussion on roleplaying in AO will be held in the "lounge" (the room with the fireplace near the entrance) leaving the dance floor free for those who rather just socialise.
