I was asked by a friend:
"Do you have faith?"
I turned to him,
and gave my reply
I believe...
I believe in the simple things
I believe the dawn will come
chasing the cold night on the run
I believe in the sunshine
that makes the flowers unfold
I believe in the birds singing
greeting the morning each day
I believe in the rain and the rivers
keeping the grass moist and green
I believe that tomorrow
might be better than today
I believe that heartache
can be turned to love
I believe in tomorrow
when I can rest and relax
I believe in tomorrow when
I can put the fighting asides
But until then
I believe
I believe in the simple things
