Thread: More realistic world please.

    More realistic world please.

I see mutants wander about, but they never appear to be doing anything. What are all the rhinomen doing standing about?

Can't we see ottus grazing. Maybe a pack of wolfs attacking one and killing it.

Herds of brontos walking from waterhole to waterhole, making leets scurry to thier holes and the rhinomen standing in their way to scatter.

Maybe the omni snipers out in the fields, rather than standing there, could spend some time sitting and cleaning their rifles, eating, taking cover, maybe taking out the odd leet they see.

Also trucks of notum making their way from the mines to the clon**** cannons, maybe escorted by a small platoon of omni guards.

I am sure a full ecosystem is out of the question, but a lot could be done with a few new idel animations, and some long distance set pathing.

They can't make a pet move in a straight line. And you want realistic AI?

Well it took hats about a year to go suggestion-> ingame.

I have high hopes of a pathing fix this year.

Though a herd of brontos, stuck in a wood would be a funny sight.

    Funny you should mention that...

One fine day not so long ago I was scouting out an Omni base in Avalon, and on my return I noticed that some of the white dots on the ground were fighting. Stopping to check out what was going on, thinking that maybe some of my fellow clanners could be in trouble and possibly I could help, I swoop down in my majestic Parrot form and behold the following:

3 Clan mobs having a shootout with a single Omni mob, all of them running around to get LoS. It ended up of course with the Clanners ganking the Omni, but it did freak me out quite a bit.

An omen of things to come, or just a bug?

Oh, and for an excellent (and incredibly funny too) dissection on the absurdities of life on Rubi-Ka, check out Tehdeacons serial on the World of Rubi-Ka forum.

    No, I'm not back.

How embarrassing, after all these years it turns out I CAN'T spell **ncom with an F and a U, talk about egg on my face eh?

Seen that happen in missions before, when mobs of different sides wondered into the same room.

One time it actually got into a fight with about 5 or 6 on each side, with me standing in a different room watching, and eventually ganking the last guy standing (evil arent I )

    MObs doing things

One of the cool things about playing Duke Nukem 3d is that most of the mobs had things that they were doing. Most were just working on computers. One of the cool things about doom is that mobs would fight.

I would love to run into a maze where the mobs could aggro each other, and be working on all the cool stuff we have in mazes.

Cyborg barracs is the best spot to be a spectator for mob fights, if you can get about 10 to chase you into one room, snare them and run out of the barracs, then sneak in, you will watch all of them trying to pick each other off. It was really amusing.

I think this is an excellent idea. We're seeing a bit of it now, with the ships constantly dropping things off/picking things up in the cities.

There's a small craft that lands in 20k every once in a while and then heads off again. I'd love to see that sort of thing all over the place. Like the shipments to the Notum Cannons that you suggested.

Humanoid mobs in camps should face one another and make the /italian, /fishsize, /nod, /nono sort of motions, like they're discussing things.... like they actually acknowledge each others' existence.
