Sneak Attack?

Okay. I'm not quite sure how putting points into sneak attack works.

I was always under the impression that you don't raise stats until you find new equipment that require them - eg:

Wakisashi - Requirements:

199 1handed edge
120 brawl
99 sneak attack
99 fast attack
42 dimach



If I found that sword above, I'd just increase my stats with whatever points I had currently stored to equip it. Now, I'm hearing rumors however that if you ALWAYS max sneak attack, you increase your chances of getting a high damage multiplier (Critical attack ?) using sneak attack.

Can anyone confirm that?

yup.
higher sneak attack=higher multiplyers=higher chance of getting a 10k hit (reduce and modify for PvP)

same thing with brawl and dimach. Except for the multiplyer thingy. higher skill=more damage.

Fast attack is not like that, though.

They had a discussion about this at the agent board (about aimed shot, but sneak attack works like an aimed shot, except for beeing melee)

but if you can't afford spending IP, or if you have other skills you NEED, leave sneak attack alone. only have enough to equip weapon IMHO.
