This might help, but make sure and read all the user comments. This is a beta. It might solve all your problems or create new ones. And there is no uninstall, according to one post, so if it does poop your system, the only solution is to reinstall windows.
I've been using the RC0 DirectX 9 with the Radeon 9700 Pro Beta RC0 drivers for quite some time now. No problems here.

WHY MMORPG'S SUCK!
Dx9 was just publically released either today or yesterday. I suggest going to www.microsoft.com/directx to download the drivers if you wish to upgrade. I make it a point not to trust a download of such signifigance except from the person(s) responcible for it.
