Thread: Make pppe shop item

    Make pppe shop item

Im upset i wanna be a tradeskiller and yet its damn near impossible for someone of my limited resources to acquire pppe so i can make some armor they should make it a shop item or atleast make it less rare maybe make it drop off of mobs not boss mobs cuz what person just has 80-90mil sittin around let me see i dont make it 10-30mil in shops then at least id have a chance at it without being lvl 200 or having the luck of a rl freind with lots of money to spread around

As for the weapons and rings they should at least be compareable to something that is a special drop seeing as its gonna cost a persons ips to up these skills and he should at least have a chance at makin a living off these items only weapon worth makin is a mcs should be alot of weapons that can be upgraded like such and be worth doing

pppe is not that hard to find.

My Org Pres and me spent two afternoon and after deciding to blitz lvl 57 missions, we found 2x Hard + 1x Soft in an evening/night. Last week, our Engie got one soft and one hard in an evening. (He found GA4 too, so a Nice Weekend for him.) My Org has found a total of 7 PPPEs now.

My opinion is that GA/NS/PPPE etc are rare because people spend so little time doing team missions at the required levels. I think my adv-twink did max 3 team missions at ql 130-160. Max 1 at ql 55-60. (Except blitzing for pppe)

When blitzing, try to have a full team. Boss drops alot more with high team-level and 6 people in team.

i guess your org is the only one

not totally upset about the availability of the item.

the thread starter still has a point.

    trade skills gimp your character.

trade skills are not especially usefull except for a handfull of items.

i think people who like trade skills or want to sell these items are penalised enough by having to waste huge amounts of precious ip into tradeskills, so why is the item found only on ql 60 team bosses?

If these disks are so easy to find, can you give one to me? :P /tell Zane0

I honestly think that these disks are indeed too rare. It's not fair that they only drop at ql 60. When I was at that mission range, they didn't exist.. :/

hehe go into the fixer forum and say this, but make sure you take your flame proof coat

I cant say for the other two, but I have persoanlly done over 20 missions in the range for GA 2 and over 20 more for GA 3, and I havent found either, and that is not alot of missions compared to some. One person I can think of has done over 200 looking for one Mk of GA, and still hasn't found it. Don't mistake a couple of lucky events for things not being hard to find.

    Unhappy

I have done this too and have not find anything.... I also notice this when i get QL 57 mission, the boss is level 61 and he drop everything QL 61 and above. Weird. So is that mean i should get team missions level 56 in order to get the boss level 60?

    Thumbs down

I agree with the owner of this post. PPPE should be in shop. In my opinion, AO has the worst trade skills system out there. all the wasted ips and still no pppe to do anything... why? cause it costs you an arm and a leg .

as a trader i question putting my ips into tradeskills in fear i will never get the pppe i require to use those tradeskills

i like the idea that funcom has come out with about the new armors barter and cas but those are still lacking it is outrageous to buy notum frags at ql of any importance and then u have to find the organic armor also

the tradeskill area of this game lacks greatly and i think that pppe should at least be made less rare of a drop maybe make it a common drop for ppl who want to do tradeskill armors cuz whats the point if u need 80-90mil to make armor when u have to waste countless ips also

i say make it easy to obtain and make those tradeskill armors more available i want to make money as much as the next man for my tradeskills but i dont want to have to spend more money than ill make in a year to do it

    Bump

several guildies and I blitzed ql 57 team missions for weeks, and finally got a shape soft, we are currently looking for a hard. I want to do tradeskills, I am willing to sacrifice combat abilities for tradeskills, so make tradeskills easier to do.

there is no reason that making armor RP wise would be so hard, it should be vary common to be able to make a usefull set of armor if you train yourself in it. Maybe make the PPPE's available in shops, Carbonum in shops, make bronto hide of better QL's and drop more in the wild, and make some uber rare components for some uber awsome armor that you can make with these items

Bah! If it's made easier to do, more people will do it, and it eventually won't be worth doing. You have to keep tradeskills hard, or there will be too many tradeskillers.

As it is, only those who REALLY love it get to the "high-end well-equipped tradeskill gawd" level. And that's exactly how it should be. Otherwise everyone would have an "alt twink tradeskiller" or know someone who does.

Arguing for easier tradeskills is simply arguaing to totally devalue tradeskills by making them too common.

That is such garbage I dont even know where to begin to rip it apart. First and foremost, tradeskill stimulates the economy. You must be one of those rare people with the tools to make the good armors and just dont want your buisness devalued. Im sorry, but to f-in bad. But the more people who can do tradeskills, the more cash gets spread out, hopefully dropping price's on things. This is as it SHOULD be. EVERYONE should be able to tradeksill if they want to, and not have to come up with 100 million in credits to do so, thus, creating HOURS or boredom standing around shouting "Making carbonum and bronto armor!!!" to make money back on your investment.

And BTW, I blitzed well over 100 missions in the ql60 range, looking for a PPPE, and GA1. I found neither of them. So its NOT easy. its beyond stupidly hard.

I am not one of those people who has the tools. And you are welcome to your opinion.

But I've played in other games where tradeskills were difficult and then made more easy. The number of tradeskill twinks went through the roof, the price of tradeskill items plummetted through the floor, and the tradeskill economy was worthless.

I don't usually get involved in flame wars, but the tone of your post irritates me. So, here we go. I'm new at this, so bear with me:

"You sound like one of those whiners who wants everything to be easy. You're just trying to completely devalue tradeskills, so that you can buy dirt cheap armor. Tradeskills are too hard for you? Well boo hoo! Getting a PPPE is too hard? Well too f-in bad."

Woohoo! How was my flame? I tried to learn lessons from your post. Instead of stating my opinion, I attacked you.

I still think if you make PPPE easy to get, there will be NO market for tradeskill armors cause everyone will know someone who can do it. But hey, no skin off my back. I've seen it happen in EQ (where I was a tradeskiller). And if people like you have your way, I'll see it happen in AO.

Actually, it wasnt bad. The force is kinda strong in this one I guess.

I appologize for jumping to conclusions. I have heard a few people make this same argument because they didnt want the buisness devalued in any way.

And in this game, you make a sacrafice to do trade skills. You have to gimp yourself BADLY to be a good tradeskiller. That is price enough. And if you are willing to go through the time to lvl someone up high enough to be a good tradeskiller, you wont be a twink anymore. Cause that in itself takes alot of time to do, in order to get yourself to good enough lvls to be able to make high lvl items to make any cash. Its balance's out.

I agree that using IP on tradeskills should result in some benefit. I even agree that the PPPE scarcity is ludicrous. I love tradeskills and mastered almost all of them in EQ before coming here.

There needs to be a balance between making them ludicrously difficult (so that only a few absolute maniacs benefit) and making them so easy that everyone either has a character that can make the items, or knows someone who can. I just would hate to see things become easy enough that tradeskills become useless, like many of them did in EQ.

My major concern with this thread is that if PPPE's are made available in Shops, I fear you will see a huge influx of tradeskillers and a huge influx of carbonum and bronto armor pieces into the economy. The price will basically drop to a fraction above cost, non-tradeskillers will start re-selling the suits they grow out of for less than cost, and the whole thing will get horribly fubar'd.

That's the kind of thing I've seen happen in other games, and I'd hate to see it here.

My preference would be to see FunCom make getting a no-drop PPPE as a quest reward. Make the quest take long enough (no matter what your level) that people won't want to bother doing it for their twink. But make it short enough (with no annoying static camps), that a dedicated tradeskiller could get it done without feeling like it was hopeless. This kind of thing is possible, but it takes a little thought and planning from FunCom. Wait, maybe it's not possible.

Rrrrg, I don't agree with the rarity of PPPE at all. These armours are already reasonably plentiful in the economy of rubi-ka since seasoned trade skillers can easily churn them out.

I made an engineer to participate in trade skills. The problem is that trade skills are way too rare to make any sort of profit with, unless you do ql 60 missions for a month or get very lucky.

You can keep carbonum and bronto rare, sure. But you have to realise that no other armor requires int/stam and agl/stam like these. There should be common armors that satisfy every attribute type, this is what we call "open ended".

We need to be able to create items that are easy to assemble and that appeal to a lot of people. I don't care about inflation, I care about fair gameplay for trade-skillers that don't have the fanaticism to get to lvl 150+ to make any reasonable cash.

Sorry, but I'm a bit angry now.. I'm lvl 119, that should infer that I'm a seasoned trade-skiller already. The problem is, I still haven't really been able to touch them.

    Hmm...

Let's try to find the middle ground here...

Okay, how about this. Keep the Hard Armor PPPE the way it is, but make Soft Armor PPPE's available in shops at a modest price. I mean, most of the armors that are made with Soft MRR's seem to be more low level oriented anyways no? Like the flesh hood made from monster parts, or the bronto armor made out of patches of bronto hide that become stupidly rare at higher levels, since there aren't high level brontos and the only source for patches of hide is that random lottery called boss loot. Now, if you wanna make the big armors, like Carbonum, or that Notum Infused Metaplast thingy, you need the rarer and more expensive Hard Armor PPPE.

    Makes sense?

Though a compromise is probably a good idea, I don't think it helps things a lot. There's still the issue of the people who want an agl/stam set of armour, what can they turn to?

Also, carbonum is considered by many to be one of the best low level armours available. :/

curudgeon i have one question for you

does everyone make there own imps?
look ill answer it for u NO NO NO
why not? anyone can if they invest ips into
becuz not everyone wants to make imps

so what makes u think that everyone is gonna make armor??
they wont cuz the skills needed to make high lvl armors will take alot of lvls and ips to make

so what makes u think that just cuz its easy to get an item to make it will make it destroy the economy of tradeskill items

im just curious im gonna have to take my trader to lvl 165+ before i can hope to use ips on tradeskill not wantin to gimp myself so bad that i cant lvl without a team to mooch off of

it should be made shop item even if it cost 20mil that is atleast reasonable
