Hearing my own voice in NW

Finally I got NW from DR yesterday (Norway), but I have a question/trouble about the voices in NW.


When I use a /voice command I can't hear my own voice. Is that correct ?

When I type "/voice yes" I get the correct text in the chat window (something like "Affermative!"), but I can't hear anything.

The voices are turned on in "Options".

I have not tried to hear something from other players, but will it not be correct to hear my own voices?

Make sure your sound is turned up, both ingame and your speakers.

Install the NW pack from the CD, and make sure you install it to the AO folder where your game resides, otherwise it does not work.

The "Vicinity"-checkmark was not checked under "Hear voices from:"
