Is it possible for the tech support to reply to some of the posts in the tech support forums. Or better yet, how bout they actually send back an email with a way to resolve the difficulty. (

Its been a week since I first contacted your tech support and the only response after sending all my files and such is that I upgrade my graphics drivers (which I did)


I still I crash every 5-20 minutes. I guess I have to wait another week for another real helpful suggestion?

Please... If anyone at FUNCOM can help (besides tech support which is *%$%#%^ useless)

I have reinstalled AO 3 times.

I have just reinstalled Direct X 8.1.

If anyone has any other ideas, ill try them, im desperate.

buy more RAM ? maybe helps? I experienced a better Grafixcard with more Memory also helps yes and get Win2k and defragment your Harddrive.

Do me a favor and go to the:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\D3DIM700.DLL folder
and right click on the D3DIM700.DLL and tell me what version it is?


My speculation is that the file is corrupt.

First uninstall your graphics card drivers.

Then install a fresh copy of DirectX

Then reinstall your graphics card drivers.

What OS are you running?

Don't reformat as of yet....That you can do as an all else fails remedy...before that I would boot from CD and run a system repair. I'm sure you won't have to go that far though.

This seems to be one of those diffuse problems...hmm
I had similar problems but that was on a system using VIA KT133 chipset. That was fixed by changing a BIOS option called PCI Master Read Caching.

My problem was random lockups and HD trashing.

I still use that system but with that option off it works great.

But the exact same problem does probably not apply to you.

So far I can see you have decent system with a decent amount of RAM.

Have you installed any service packs for your OS ? And reinstalled it when putting original files from your OS installation CD on your system ?

What OS is it ?

Do you have problems during normal use / in other games ?

Have you tried both HAL and T&L ?

If you have a VIA chipset, I would blame the 4in1 drivers. Try going to this thread for GeForce issues. The Other Technical Issues forum is a great place to find the fixes for your problem.

You could also try increasing the AGP voltage by one step, ie 0.1v. That may smooth power issues.
