They have also been trained in hiding armor under their 'social' clothes. Since they have free access to all gathered knowledge, they excell in any weapon category they should choose. They're almost as good as an enforcer with melee skills, almost as gppd as a soldier with ranged weaponry, almost as good as a martial artist with unarmed combat. Anything anyone else can do, a librarian can do almost as good, by reading lots and lots of books about different techniques.
They do, however not excell in speed. Just reading about it makes you technically good, but since they rarely actually perform the deadly art, all kinds of inits/evades/runspeed are severely injured compared to anyone else.

strengths: they're almost as good as anyone else in anything.

weakness: what others normally do fast, librarians may need to double check their books, and is thus slower down conciderably. They get the job done, but perhaps abit slower than the next guy.

Sounds like an adventurer minus the book and social clothing thing. LMAO... sigh...

oh, and yeah, it could be perceived as undermining the fixer, since a fixer is the 'shady' profession in AO.

Of course, no matter how much the griefers keep hoping, I suspect Funcom is well aware that adding ANY form of stealing from other players would lose them way too many customers to ever be done.

Note: PvP kill 'looting' isn't a stealing scenario.

    Cloner:
Abilities: Creates duplicates of himself. Creates so many duplicates that it cause too much lag and the server goes down.
Weaknesses: All duplicates wander aimlessly as you are beaten to death. Everyone hates you because no one can play for more than ten minutes at a time when you're logged on.

    Ghost:
Abilities: Intangible and invisible. Goes through walls and everything else. Can't be touched or seen by enemies.
Weaknesses: Intangible and invisible. Can't hold or use weapons, armor or any equipment. Can't be seen or interact with other players. Can't be harmed by enemies (except Cloners and Cloner NPCs.)

    Talking

How about this for a new race on the next expansion?

    Cyborg:
Created by 2 crazy unnamed People. A Nano-Technician Created the Body design and the machines for mass production and given the will to live and think for it's self by a Meta-Physicist . No one know's were the mass production machines are not even the Cyborgs themselves. But are capable of doing any class. But originally made to be a warrior.

On creation you'll have the option of humanoid legs or have your bottem half look like a yalm. (expect you only hover 5 feet off the ground). They also have a higher regen rate. When lvling you can only spend ip on skills but not on abilities those have to improved through implants. and is the only breed able to see in the dark from the start.

You'll look like the terminator cyborgs in the movies.

    Cool New Classes

Ok here are the classes that should be introduced in the new X pack.

    Rioter.

Has high damage pistol that levels with you and is rioter only. Has high damage shotgun that levels with you and is rioter only. Can cast riot nano that makes all the mobs go crazy and randomly kill anyone. Can cast riot madness nano that increases damage output. Nano lasts for 2 minutes. If the nano is cast multiple time the damage output increases and is cumulative. HOWEVER the player increases his chances of losing control over his character. This may result in the players character attacking his friends. In addtion the loss of control of the character may result in the player's character fleeing the battlefield. Riot stun nano. The rioter increases his chance of stunning the the target when he hits.

The rioter will become the big stick in the game but will be dangerous if he pumps his Riot maddness too high.

    Mercenary,

Medical healing skills, power shot nanos (double crit), teleport nanos,

Also new armor to combat stunning. Jet pack... makes target flee out of range when stunned.

And how about some new weapons theat make you lose IP when you get hit with it. Then provide a shop that sells back lost IP at a high cost.

    awww.. yeah yeah.

Basicly, a scientist is an engineer without a pet. A scientist has no real means of offensive capabilities, since they tend to stay in laboratories and tinker while others stay on the battlefield.
They excell in tradeskills, but that's the only place they're any good.

Strengths: Tradeskills. They gain 100% more XP from tradeskills compared to other professions.

Weaknesses: Anything that's not concidered a tradeskill.

i bet this will be the new best pvp class with FC's strategies : D

cool this thread is still alive

guess i should have labeled it the:

"up your post count here" thread.

my hazy old mans memory dimly recalls a post by Cz saying that there would be new info about shadowlands by the end of december/early january.

that to my befuddled brain sorta makes sense since swg hits in april 03 or something, so i expect shadowlands to materialise roughly at that time as well give or take 2 months.

not that i care for swg but funcom likely will because it is the first competitor for the sci fi market and as we all know the number of people playing online games is not exactly limitless - you mostly get subscribers by skimming them from other games and only to a lesser extent by recruiting new players.

    anyway:

so far we know zero about that expansion and that is slightly annoying dont you think?

*edit: *checks forum title* yes, right board to ask. so again: what new classes will there be?

i understand that it is to early for release dates, content like nanos and equipment but a vision of what these classes are supposed to BE or DO should be there should it?

    My suggestion forto new prof.

    Jester

The Jester is the master of awkward situations - both creating and withstanding them. The Jester can evade almost all forms of attacks, often succeeding in turning them back on the attacker. Common household items become deadly weapons in the hands of a Jester, often taking the unwary opponent by complete suprise. When faced with a single or large numbers of potential foes, he has the ability to reduce oppent's atticking initiatives by making them laugh so hard they lose concentration and musculary control. This skill works even better at close range, when he can tickle the enemy to the point of causing physical injury, madness or even death in extreme cases. The Jester can also summon a pet monkey to help him entertain the 'audience'

    Key Abilities:
Pros: Quick, hard to hit, can handle multi-opponent situations better than most professions, can wear various artificial body parts (notably a large, red nose) to help him do his job. Can weild almost anything as a weapon, inluding buckets of water, foodstuffs and big, latex gloves. Some of these can also have the effect of stunning the opponent for a short period.

Cons: The Jester is not the greatest damage dealer, nor can he wear heavy and cumbersome armor types. The Jester is too clumsy to use normal ranged weapons with any success. Bureaucrats are somewhat immune to the Jester's pranks and jokes.

    Nurfer:

Unable to raise any of his own skills due to extraordinarily low levels of self-esteem. Must put others down to make himself feel better. Does this by Trader-like "Nurf" programs which phenomenally lower the target's skills, including the new "Will to play" skill. No skill is however transferred back to the Nurfer. Due to the unique nature of these nanoprograms, they can only be used once per patch.

    Pros: Pisses off other people

Cons: Pisses off other people to the point where mail bombs may become a factor.

    Dev Team Member:

Able to anything better than all other profs combined, only not right now. He'll be able to do it Soon(tm). All skills are green, but only 10% of original IP is received each level. Eternally on the lookout for new items, which should be available Soon(tm) as well. Yes, the Dev Team Member is indeed at the mercy of the actual Dev Team.

Pros: Can do any and everything

Cons: Can't do it quite yet
    Intenseheat: Omni MA, ph33r teh ub3r l337
Preeminence: Omni crat - hopelessly gimped - lost 180K IP trying to reset skills - ph33r teh ub3r t33th
    Omniwins: Omni soldier, always winning

I'm just an ass that happens to be smart.
