    Tir ghost town

Hi all, I'm glad that FC tried to something about the lag in Tir city, however I think all that's been accomplished here is moving that lag from inside to outside, so that the lag hasn't been "fixed" at all, simply shifted.

Placing the grid terminal out side on the south gate,(where lowbies hunt) has increased lag somewhat to the point where it can take several minutes to zone to the grid from Tir city, admittedly the lag was bad before, but this attempt at a "fix" has compounded the lag further.

Perhaps two grid points inside Tir would offer a better solution, one exactly where it was before, where players met/buffed/traded (that was a real hive of activity, (and added to the 'feel' of Tir being a city).

And another gird in the opposite corner of the city (with a 400 grid req) I think this would help the lag issue more than simply shifting outside.

I began typing this to pass the time while trying to zone out of Tir, and it took 5mins to do both, and the attempted zone resulted in a AO client freeze

Please fix this FC, the current "fix" hasn't really worked.

    good point

I dont know how you would go about fixing lag issues. But moving grid points in and of a city does nothing but change the spot where the lag is at. and now there is that south gate to have to go through which takes me 2-3 trys to get through the damn gate and forget trying to get through when there are a bunch of people out there..At least i can warp myself in.

They made a mess of Trade as well. Around the center by the old grid used to be a vibrant area. Now it dead.

These guys have no understanding at all about creating a social environment. Just the reverse; they try damn hard to destroy them.

People do not have to follow the grid terminal like sheep you know.

All they need to do is *GASP* zone inside...

The problem are that almost everyone are looking for team outside southgate now, (even highlevels) Nw corner is starting to get deserted.

Now for highlevels it would be better to stay in mort, gather around there and grab missions. but to get everyone to understand that its better there, is a problem.

I agree this is a problem, but why not simply use Old and West Athen as meeting points etc? Both have grid in same PF as the shops, mission booths etc. Over time, I think Old Athen will be restored to the bustling city it was a year ago

This is a player created problem. FC already tried to fix this by moving the grid away from the NE Tir crowd.

But the crowd followed like sheep

I wonder...if FC moved the grid into the middle of a river, would the crowd follow there too ?

They should split up the exits into -100 and 100+ that way atleast those that can team with each other will end up on the same spot, and disperse the crowd some. The other day I had to go up to the Cyborg Barracks and thought to myself that I would just make the mad Tir dash from ICC (being that im omni), I couldnt believe the amount of people on one spot outside the gate, it was so bad that in the zoning lag I made it about 2 more feet before the anti aircraft fire took me out. While I thought it was extremely funny, I can imagine what its like to have to go through there daily.

I thought the people gathered in NE Tir because of the grid, not the other way arround. Thus moving the grid is just going to cause the people to move. The grid is generally a move convenient way to get places then whoompas so why wouldn't people congregate to the nearest term?

Sorry to hear you're Omni JagydTyger But there is still hope... I still sense good in you, the dark side hasn't driven it from you fully.
