Thread: High resolutio nlanet map

    High resolution planet map

I was looking around on funcom ftp site when I stumbled on this:

    ftp://ftp.funcom.com/tmp/level3.png

    It's a huge file (25Mb) of a 3780 x 4582 version of the default ingame planet map.

It looks very nice thought. From the name, I guess that maybe they're considering adding a third level of zoom (?)

Heh yea I noticed it too. For some reason ftp.funcom.com got planted on my "Network Places"... gonna go shoot windows XP.

Personally I think it would be too demanding on system resources for lower end computers to run a 25 mb map.

Hmm, well think it's not compressed. Even though it's a big map, it wouldn't be so big if it was compressed.

    Thank you

I have spent the past week cleaning up up a LOT.

in fact the current version looks totally different than that too...

im working on integrating DynaCamp locations, and entering the levels of the Mobs next to the camp names so people will know if something iwll be too hard for them

i allways hated running to 50 zones just to see nothing but green or reds.

Seeing that high res map of Rubi-Ka just saddens me further about the missing zones. If you look closely, is seems whole towns are missing in the southern shores, and that Three Craters and the Plains of Salt could be damn sweet zones.

I wish we could use higher resolution maps in-game.

More sweet zones no one would go to, you mean?

I go to these zones on a regular basis, and now, thanks to Notum Wars, just about every zone will be regularly populated. It's time for more zones and more animals, in my opinion, ones WITHOUT land control.
