Please make an option to turn off ambient sounds! Those weird humming sounds in tir, athens and missions etc are destroying my mp3's :\ I still want footsteps, gun blasts etc tho.

All sounds in AO are .wav files, so just find the ones you don't like and make a blank .wav replacement for it.
If you go in your AO directory, you'll notice a cd_image subdirectory. In there is a sound subdirectory nicely organized by type.
