    Purchasing Online

Can you buy NW online? IE download it and buy the activation key. It could be charged to your AO account couldn't it?

    And if not why??

Apparently, they're planning on making it downloadable at a later time, after the stores have had it for a while. They need to get exposure in stores again, as AO hasn't exactly had premium shelfspace lately...

And they don't want to take away sales from the retail channel right now. They'll wait until later to give them the shaft

    Where did you hear that?
Has there been any official posts at all on the subject? I haven't been able to find any (as usual).

Funcom has my 100% support, they need to get the game into stores and sell boxes.

Wink Ratty - read here pls :)

Ratty - the comment is from an interview in AO-basher with, among others, Gaute Godager.

    Excerpt:

It has been made understood that Notum Wars will be sold only physically. This creates some problems for people who live in more remote areas, or places like Australia, where shipping and handling charges are tremendous. A certain (in)famous level 200 Enforcer pointed out that shipping and handling for Notum Wars will be over $40 for him. Can we expect Notum Wars to be available through a download and activation system? If so, is there an approximate date for this?

We are a company constantly updating the needs of our customers and our local distributors. We will in due time inform about any changes to this specific situation.

We will probably add a download option later on, but the retail chains are very important to the overall life span of the product. That means that we just have to wait a little while for a downloadable version.

The full interview can be found here.
