Just a note if it involves digital river really really don't go there Over the last couple of years I've tried preordering about 3 or 4 games through them before I finally learned my lesson. Every one of them I got almost that same out of stock/backordered email. Best advice I can give you click on that customer service link in there and cancel your order you'll get it quicker by going to the store then the 3 months past release I waited last time I ordered a game that went through them.

How do I cancel an order?

Once the submit button has been clicked and the order is complete it can not be cancelled.

If u want to cancel anyway there are a subject in the mail form thats called "I would like to cancel my order"

Whats the deal about pre-order when we dont get it before the stores have it?? anyways never got an email from them telling it was backordered... so i just checked the status myself... backordered, does it mean they dont have a copy for me yet?

The hope is that preordering we might get it at least on the same day as stores. Of course, it actually turns out to be a scam. Digital River, the *official* vendor, says its backordered while people who ordered thru ebgames.com are receiving it and my local store sez they will have it today or tomorrow.

I hope you're being facetious Hergrom. Of course it is their fault: they choose to work with an incompetent, or to put it less charitably, deceitful, company rather than any one of myriad other alternatives. Moreover, FC chose to work with a company that has been *notorious* for incompetence, as i have subsequently discovered to my chagrin.

I do not know any details, obviously, but in considering why FC choose to work with Digital River rather than with a more reputable and competent alternative, I cannot help but imagine that DR offered FC more attractive financial terms. Coupled with how difficult DR makes it to cancel an order (I have tried twice to no avail), it certainly looks like a nice scam: take people's money, balk/refuse to release their credit card "pre-authorization,'' and then balk/refuse to actually provide the product.

Nice way to treat customers!

Well sinse Digital River seem to be official vendors for FC, and seem to be failing to provide the game on time, I think preorders from them should get something for loyalty.

I sent them a message yesterday asking if I was actually going to receive the order in a timely fashion, when I clicked on the submit button it said it would email me at a completely wrong address (ie, not mine)...

It doesn't look good that I will receive the booster this weekend

Got backorder message and canceled at DS.

Went to the german AO site and found a link to a german Mail Order company.

Happyly ordered there just to find out that "according to the manufacturer" the software will be shipped Dec 4th.

Gonna stalk my local EB Store today.....

One thing I'd really like to know is whether this is a "global" or "european" problem...

I for my part (and as far as I catch the drift my whole guild) will be rather pi$$ed if we see towers from US based guilds pop up like mushrooms in all the nice spots and the euro-players can fight for the leftovers ....
