    Apartments affecting weapon damage

    Here's a quote from the login.

    'There is currently a problem with apartments where you will lose the items in the apartment if you go in it. The fix that was done earlier had to be removed as it caused problems with weapon damage.'
    ROFL. This is just so typically Funcom.

    Hey! You're stealing my thoughts here.

    I don't have an answer, but I heard a fix for outdoor maps might have been in too, so I suspect the patch that was rolled back contained more fixes than the apartment one.

    I'm currently at home, and will rather let the coders work on fixing things than bug them with askign for an explanation. We'll take that part later.

    Talking What code was I working on?

    Yep, I'm a software developer myself, and when I read that I nearly sprayed my keyboard with Mike's Hard Lemonade (good stuff!)

    I can only imagine the conversation at Funcom:

    Tester 1: Hey, who changed the apartment inventory code?
    Dev 1: I did, why, what's wrong?
    Tester 1: Well, it seems to have changed weapon damage somehow.
    Dev 1: Oh *&^# what source code did I have checked out?

    Makes me wonder, was there a line somewhere that does something like:

    if (apartmentDoor = 'OPEN')
    {
    weaponDamage = weaponDamage - 50;
    CrashIfItIsTuesday();
    }

    ROFL!

    There is one, and only one plausible explanation for this. Rogue pointers. That'll get you every time in C/C++. If it's not a rogue pointer problem, then it certainly is Troggpancher.

    Darned Rogue Pointers. I thought the rogues were all back in EQ, guess they have spawned some in AO.
