Thread: New Vehicles Question

    Question New Vehicles Question

Just a bit concerned have looked at some prices for pieces to build the new vehicles. I must say that the cost is a bit outrageous imho.

The question is, a good deal of hype for NW is the new vehicles, however with the high prices for parts, what do the casual gamers, or smaller guilds do (not a flame, but these are players who don't camp around for the special loots)?

I can honestly say the real thing drawing me to NW are the new Yalms, but I don't think I can spend the time farming credits just to buy the parts and then try to get it assembled.

What information can you post about this Gaute or Cz?

These new vehicles are basically money sinks to bring the economy

They are probably what Yalms were originaly planned for. Hard to get and use, making it very special to have one.

I don't mind the price, it's just the requirements are so high.

    Question True true

All are correct in the assumptions. Yet the question is still out there as to what else is NW for if #1 you don't have the resources available for the new toys and #2 you do have the resources but are unable to use those resouces (vehicles mainly) because of high skill reqs (not a real problem for me).

I don't want to have my guildmates (many new to the AO world and loving it) go out and get NW (having a guild meeting to state NW is not required to be part of the guild) and then feeling slighted because of the inability to use some of the new stuff. If there is more besides towers and vehicles great, if not, please inform us. I think the more information given will help ease some uneasiness I think most still have.

I think to bring this question into more serious discussion is this quote from Gaute in the article about Notum Wars:

"One of the most obvious additions will be new Yalmahas. Take a look at the artwork! I'm impressed with what our artists have come up with and I think you will be too. These cool Yalms, along with the ground-based fighting vehicles we'll be introducing, can be purchased in special shops accessible with The Notum Wars."

Again, this is not about whining but having information to best deal with decisions about getting NW if there is more to it besides towers and new vehicles.

Well everyone can enjoy the booster to some extent but I believe that to get the full benefits of it you need to be a rich, high level person.

I think most expansions are there not to get new players but to keep the ones you got. Funcom had better make sure that their real expansion is fantastic and make sure it is released before SWG or they might lose tons of people. Even I am thinking about jumping ship at that time because hey it's Star Wars and Star Wars roxxors

For me, being an average player in a not so big organisation, the prices on the new vehicles (or parts) seem way too high. As I have never really understood the ways of making hundreds of millions I guess I will not be able to buy any of the new vehicles. From what I have read and heard the prices are aimed to drain the overheated economy on RK and bring the infaltion down to what they think is normal levels. A nice thought perhaps, but the problem is that people in common arent super rich. Where could I get 100+millions of credits at my level (106)?

Am I supposed to find a way to exploit to be able to get these new things? I can't possibly see a way to get my hands on that kind of money, not even in a remote future.

Yes, true bonk, but how long have you heard high level people complain and even leave the game for the lack of things to do at high levels? Maybe this will be a way for FC to give high level people something to do finally!

Er, here's what folks mean when they say the new super-duper expensive stuff will bring the economy 'down'.

The new yalms are store-bought only; so when you buy one, your 450M credits are removed from the economy permanently, thereby increasing the value of the remaining credits. At least, that's the way it's supposed to work.

What I'm wondering is if there'll be enough of these 450M credit chuncks leaving the economy to make a difference? Will it really cause the market on uber drops to soften that much?

I'm hoping that once they get inflation under control that the price will drop on the new yalms.

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to get a paintjob on the normal yalms? I want to buy a Neo Concept Manta, but until I save up the millions of credits I figured I'd just get a paint job.

At any rate, the only people who have the hundreds of millions of credits are those who have the buff nanos people pay for. Mochies, Wrangles, +80 Treatment buffs and IC are the big ones. To a lesser extent money can be made off Essense buffs, Riot Control, Masteries.. but not nearly as much. The richest poeple in the game (and there are several with nearly a billion creds I garentee it) are docs, traders and Metas, only becuase they can sell there skills for hundreds of thousands of credits.

This is unfare to the other 8 classes who have either get high enough to cast Essenses or other usefull but rarely payed for buffs or run missions, which pay a messly 50k at lvl100.

For example, my main is a fixer, he can cast a +85 NCU buff, Grid Surfer (+390 runspeed), Blackmarket Perscription.. a hot that heals 100-111 and lasts for 20 minutes. I get asked for buffs all the time, usually runbuffs or NCU, less often HoTs. But when I ask for tips, people get pissed off and tell me they can get one free from anyone else.

So my only way to make money is to blitz, but at the rate the games ecconomy is, I can blitz high-demand items within the limits of my lvl's mission lvl range, but people rarely even buy these, because they too can just easily get a runbuff from some fixer they've never met and a hot for free and blitz a mission themselves. I used to get asked to blitz all the time, now, I haven't been asked more then once in 2 months.

This is reletive to my main class, but there are 8 other classes out there with the same problem, we cant rake in the money these MP's, Traders and Docs can at higher lvl. We often attempt to make an alt and power-level them to higher level. But many like myself, have spent enough time getting my main to a good level, and I don't want to HAVE to do that.

Let me last say, if you have buffs that are wanted by others, and you aren't a doc, trader or MP, THEN BY THE GODS ASK FOR PAYMENT! If we start doing this, perhaps we can start making enough money to actually IMAGINE being able to buy one of these new yalms.

heh. . . I can pretty much guarantee you that anyone with 200mil+ isn't spamming the shopping channels offering their buffing services

    Question is...

What if the new yalms and attack car suck and people don't buy them. That will really leave FC in a pickle. Or a few people buy them and say "they suck, don't waste your money". Again, FC is in trouble economy wise.

If I read Jayde's Database correctly, then you are correct about most new Yalms being out of reach for most players, but there are two new models, the Yalmaha XL Gold Flash - 29478 and the Yalmaha XL Vivid Red - 29478 which cost the same as the original Yalm . The description says they have added resistance to being rooted too, but the stats show AddAllDef 200 so it appears as if they they add to your defence against everything, not just roots. Are towers that add to your stats + 2 more color choices for your Yalm (with the same body style) that add to your defence worth $20 USD to ya? I guess that's for you to decide, but I think I'll go ahead and get it as I hope to be one of those uber-rich players that can afford the really good Yalms someday.

Red face Veh size problem - too damn small

When I first evaluated AO last year, one of the reasons I did not
sign up was the size of the Vehicles. It was a joke.

They need to make them bigger. When planetside comes out
the Veh's are normal size. Gonna be sony's big attack on
    NW pvp.

It'll cost about 12mil to give your Yalm a paint job. I bought my low-ql yalm for 5mil. Hmmm..... there's something wrong there, but I can't quite put my finger on it

Level up to 107. Pull ql160 missions, blitz for ql160 6-slot belts. Sell for 1mil a piece. You can also run missions for nanos if you find the belts too hard to roll.

    I get it.
The new yalms are a money sink to give the uncaught credit dupers and cheaters a reward for their efforts, while people who did not dupe or OR DO BUSINESS WITH DUPERS (same thing) can simply do without the rare/special things.
But hey at least people with alts with 999,999,999 credits can have something to buy a few of.

All false, this imply that the prices have to be different between RK1 and RK2 ...and they are not !

So Yalm are expensive in RK1 and very very expensive in RK2 !
