why pay for beta?

Why on earth shall one take charge of someone
who has bought time to play AO to be on test-server,
can u not change it so its free of charge to any1
who has a registred gamekey.
Now one has to be a beta-tester and use one
payed time from AO real game, to help you be beta-tester,
your da first ever who charge folks to beta-test !

As for me Id like to be a beta-tester full time
and not play on real server, find it more interesting
game to be on test than acctualy game.
There are many ways to limit accounts,
perhaps even think over how real AO trial based accounts
work !!!

For ex. a trial account is free of charge and open forever
just that you can not exceed level 10 or leave a certan area,
there a millions ways. Now for all you "pay for da game fanatic forum writers" not every one has the cash to be able to pay
$40 to $50 every 3third month, not on wellfair checks !!!!
And AO is the best game ever made and continues to be so !
So please make something for us also, why not
make a SOLO GAME, where u make missions, explore rubi-ka,
thats apart from online-game !

At least when I played EQ, it was up to the player if they played on Test or not, just like it is here. There were people that only played there, and that was their choice, just like it is here. There is nothing unusual about the arrangement in this game.

Well its up to us I know, but pay $40 to beta test for 3 months its a bit steap.. wel anyways, luv this game to much to quit.
Hope my "pay by cash" is soon ready, having problem with it
and there site. Im such a fanatic of the game I had to make a trial account more to be able to play further until its ready.

I think that you just answered your own question. If people are willing to play on test servers without being recompensated by Funcom then they will continue to use you in just that way.

We are all constantly playing the beta and we are all paying for it. I think we are way to forgiving...

if they could have a reduced price entering beta server only,
or give credits if you play long enough on test server along
with all the risks that follows, then add extra days to your

If you don't want to pay for beta testing, then don't. FC can't help that you stay on AO testserver all the time, instead of using the normal servers. You get the 'privilage' to see the new stuff. You got the free will. Do you enjoy yourself when you play on the test server? Then why shouldn't you pay for it..."Im helping with finding bugs and all"...well, in that case, get a job in a gamecompany, where you can get payed to have fun...I don't see many other amusement parks which pays you to have fun.

Testing is a free choice, just don't test if you don't want to do it for free, im sure others want. Of course, we could also make an Demo-paymentsystem, where you are payed each time you try a game as demo :P

Ive been on two commercial game projects and hired
in game companies, if you think one gets payd and sit around
and just play games for fun, your sadly misstaken,
its hard work and little time for anything else.
One can in other form say we get payed to do what we
luv the most !

And to the one who asked why then play on rubi1 & 2, you have
missunderstood my point here. Im driving at they should look into
making a solo game, then it got out of hand...

Point was that they should implement bonus system to the ones
who play a lot on test server, and even more bonus on finding
exploits and bad bugs
