Perhaps I should say 'Before the miners revolted and formed the clans, the guards took pleasure in shooting at miners when they got bored.'
The newly formed clanners took up arms to defend themselves from their former brethern who were sent to shoot them and make them fall back in line after they finally woke up to what Omni-Tek was all about.
What is Omni-Tek about? Yes they gave us this fabulous ressurection technology that they are required by ICC to share. They have finally put a weather system in that works. What else have they done?
'They're only Atrox.' Miners died very often before the Insurance Terminals. Many of those deaths could have been averted, or the severity of the incidents lessened, but since 'They are only Atrox' nothing was done. Lets not point fingers at clans for wanting to kill their brethern. Our Brethern being killed was the reason we had to stop it.
What else? Every seen an Eye Mutant? Bulbbag? Tac? Shade? Bio Construct? Horribly Failed Experiment? Rhinoman? Omni-Med has produced the worst atrocities on this planet, and they show no signs of letting up.
Omni Architecture is a blight, it's meant to dominate the inhabitants and the terraformed landscape.

although i agree that us omnis ought to be kept out of yur dump home town there is still a problem with that. I really like to go to TIR arena but its much more of a hassle now than it was before. So id quite like it if the OMNI guards were taken out of 4holes. That way we would have a place to pvp. Im pretty sure this wont happen though because its not part of the story but it would still be nice.

Come on. Face it. This low key unassuming architecture is merely an expression of the Clan's complete absence of ambition, drive, and organization. You want to live in the past; be hunter-gatherers; camp in the wilderness. Its obvious: a society of burnt out wanna bes with a grudge against anything progressive.
and yet this group of people with a 'complete absence of ambition, drive, and organization' stood up, fought Omni-Tek, and kicked you completely out of the north, captured Omni2 and renamed it Athens, and has forced Omni-Tek to improve working conditions on the planet overall.
If the clans are described as a group with a 'complete absence of ambition, drive, and organization' then what could Omni-Tek be described as?
This war that has destroyed much of the forward progress of Omni-Tek and destroyed the land was brought about because Omni-Tek refused to treat their miners in any other way than as a Disposable Resource. 'Oh, a mine collapsed? Guess we better order more equipment, make sure you put 100 in the Atrox block' Before the Miners revolted thats what we were to Omni-Tek. Equipment. The Employees may have been fine with that, but the people now in the clans weren't.
Hehe. Get a perspective. Omni-Tek is a galactic mega corporation. The Clans are a group of malcontents camping out in a small area of a small planet in the middle of noplace. You haven't stopped Omni-Tek's progress, you've delayed our development in a single location.
Its like an infestation of rats in somebody's basement. If you're not prepared, or act without due caution, the rats are going to stay down there. They may think that this means they own the basement, and perhaps even that the human population is incapable of dealing with them. Ain't so huh.
You guy's lucked out. Omni-Tek obviously didn't even consider you to be on the scale of an infestation of rats, and mishandled the problem. Further, its important that the Notum resource not be contaminated or destroyed. Last, the other galactic mega corporations would sorely love to displace our monopoly on Notum, and have engineered the ICC presence in an attempt to do so. There is also evidence that these corporations were funding, and providing technical and logistical support to the Clan's initial rebellion.
You guys are pawns in a game that dwarfs your existence. If you want to think otherwise, go ahead. People can live off propaganda and stirring speaches for quite a while. Sooner or later, though, the reality is gonna kick in.
