    Socialism org gov form

Well, we've got republic, democracy, anarchy, etc... when will we be able to start a Socialist/Communist guild?
Very suitable for clans, you have it all: Huge corporation destroying a world, maltreated workers, etc.... and it would allow for a lot of roleplaying.

Oh well, that's just my suggestion.

    OOC:

Although I understand your intent, I could forsee HUGE flaming wars. People look to AO to get away from it all, not to see some guild sporting "The Socialist Labourers of Rubi-Ka"(Although, thats a good name isnt it?).

    too difficult to program

socialism? bah! They'd have to add a feature that dumps 50% of any contribution to the org bank into a black hole -- to simulate to inefficiency of said form of government. Of the remaining 50%, fully 75% would then be removed to support the org's universal health care plan. So, for each 100 credits dumped into the bank, the net deposit would be 12.5 credits.

hehe it could be interesting i think.

And to flame the inefficy of socialism, i think there is just as present in the 'private' economy. I say one word: enron.

Well the thing is, socialism and communism are not really governing forms, they're ideologies. A state/country (or guild in AO) with republic as governing form could be lead through communism, facism or a multitude of other ideologies, not just democracy as you seem to think.

I believe both the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany (and I'm just using those two states as examples, nothing else) were republics from an organizational point of view.

Also, democracy is not a listed governing form in AO as far as I can see.
