If the recent changes in pvp were designed to make combat last longer, why is it that, if anything, combat goes by much quicker now.
Criticals have been halved, and yes, that effects the damage that most professions do quite a bit. However, soldiers and fixers now seem to burst every 10-15 seconds for quite a large ammount of damage due to the drop in burst recycle time. Enforcers now crush their puny opponents in record time do to the fact that their beams are now attacking and recharging in 1sec/1sec.
The speed changes, that benefit professions very unevenly(MAs that had a 1/1 attack with little damage already benefit not at all) has greatly reduced the length of pvp combat.
