Thread: Funcom: Please give us a GOOD reason why NODROP items drop from Tarasque.

  1. #21

    hmm

no drop loots are good on fast spawning mobs to prevent farming of items to sell, but on long timed spawned mobs or ones that take 2+ teams to beat, no drop items should be removed

Erm, maybe it's just me, but making all of the Tara loot items *not* NODROP would increase the number of people who entered the raffle so they could get it and sell it or trade it for other uber items. Last thing I'd want to see is an Agent trading EoT to an NT for GA4 and Magnifier that he'll sell to someone who will e-bay it. And you know it'll happen.

Um which planet is this where this will happen? As it is, the only stuff professions of all flavors get to call on are the globes/dragon armor and HPO...maybe GPH, dunno how the clans or RK2 ppl do it. Now tell me again what keeps the trading forum going? Um dragon pieces/HPOs/GoCs and VT eggs...and mis. crap. Since dragon armor/HPO/GoC are the biggest sellers, WTF is your point? It is already happening. By making the other stuff nodrop, enforcers would definately get a chance at an EoT...so what if it cost 800mil. You think an enf wants a 200mil yalm or that EoT? It means GoS and GPH could find homes with high lvl chars (um like me) who have crap loads more credits than I need but can never win/attend tara when the stuff I want drops. I honestly have a better chance to find a GA4 disk than win a GPH.

Your comment just doesn't make sense. Maybe when you get a couple Title 6 chars and have been doing camelot forever you will realize how much it sucks when you never win anything...and the stuff you do want you can't possibly buy.

Isgrimnur - lvl 200 advent who is pretty pissed the only item he really wants he can't buy. WTF does a lvl 200 need an adv hood for when GPH is so much more useful.

Oh and I have said it before raffles are totally stupid. The whole system makes me not want to play this game. In fact I guarentee if it doesn't improve I will be leaving. There is no content for high lvl players. Some gay towers and new yalms make me puke. PvP is not content. Killing mobs...hmm could be content if most of them didn't take forever to kill. NODROP=worst thing to ever come to a MMORPG...oh well rant off

Ah, right, you're telling me that if the uber loot wasn't nodrop, Tara would have the same calm, ordered, scandal-free operations it has today?

I'm sorry for being such a complete and utter n00b. I'll go ahead and bum rush my chars to 200 so I can complain that there is nothing to do. :-p Sorry, but I'm just sick of hearing that line.

I've been meaning to start attending Tara raids, but it's just a big mess with it's own community, and yes, there is that rare chance in hell that I'd actually get my hands on a GPH, especially as a "n00b" who hasn't spend there for 3 months. I know the frustration because I know the futility, and I've seen my guild mates go through the same things. Right now, my time is better spent leveling past the titlecap and running about playing pirate. :-p

Well with all the noobies attending Tara, nope it would still be crazy, but at least someone who has put a lot of time in could offer a reasonable price to buy something that is now NODROP but shouldn't be at all. When I read that some trader paid over 1 billion worth of credits and items to loot a GPH that made me realize the futility of it all. I can buy anything that can be sold, but paying 1billion for the right to loot something seems a bit on the overkill side. If that hood could be traded and the going price was crazy like 900mil or something, sure I would hussle myself into making the money to buy it, why? Because more than 1 of my chars could benefit from it, so it would be a longterm investment.

Also I don't just mean tara...look at some of the other items that take an insane amount of ppl to kill...punishment rod anyone? OR Ian Warr and gang. IT actually gets much much harder than Tara...Tara is a wimp compared to some of the new outdoor mobs.

Tara is a 1 team mob. it wouldn't happen today though. becaurse now everyone get's to lvl 150 in 2 moths.
    nodrop items are cool.

the only problem is the spawn rate of the mobs they are on. make tara spawn ever 5 min. if the loot on him is too good to be commen then it shouldn't be ingame.

Well, there has to be *some* items that are better than common items but are hard to get. I think FC goes about putting those items in mostly incorrectly.

Oh, trust me, I'd kill for GPH to not be nodrop.

I think the solution would be very simple.

    1. Remove "No Drop" flaqs from every loot that currently has it. Make them all "Unique" or "Special".

    2. Make it so that none of the "Unique" or "Special" items cannot be stored in a bank, but must be carried by the player in the main inventory or as equipped (which both count as one).

    3. "Special" is different from "Unique" in away that you can have two of them in inventory instead of one (aka sleeves and some rings etc.)

    does this sound good?

Arrow Nodrop is used far too often in this game

<--- is the Trader that "paid" an arm & leg for looting rights to GPH.

Although the GS was completely locked out and the person that won had no chance of getting in...out of the 10 or so people inside only ~3-4 people (including me) "needed" it

Not unless funcom would compensate with larger inventories; considering some perons have stored many different types of uniques and/or special items in their bank. Otherwise, this idea would force persons to delete the many uniques and/or specials they have collected in order to make room in their inventory.

Whats all this noob this and noob that thing? Im soon level 150 and want to try help kill Tara at least once at level 150. This will be my first time there. Will that make a noob? Even thought I have played since release? Does noob equal under say 100 days played? I dont get this, someone please explain this to a noob.

Ah yes, explain this too; are all the items in Tara so incredible good that nothing else in Rubi Ka kan compete with it?

To me a noob is someone who doesn't really know how to really *play* their class or the game. A noob is someone who just shows up somewhere, because a lot of others are there, and they don't do what they are told (um like stay in boxroom) or they go afk and figure woohoo I can get loot while taking my dog for a walk. A noob whines, complains, uses the official channels like a kid uses a crayon - all over the place. "Oh Crap I have been deprived" kind of things on the official channel.

To me a noob couldn't even come close to being in a tank team on one of these mobs as they don't know how to properly play their character. Noob is someone who just lvls and lvls and doesn't experiment and take their character to the extreme in extreme situations.

You will find a lot of noobs show up at camelot. I don't think level has much to do with it. I would say time played COULD have something to do with it, but then there are rpers and people who prefer chatting/cybering instead of actually playing their character in all gameplay aspects.

I guess a noob is the opposite of a power gamer... a power gamer knows their game, knows their character, knows when to talk and when to shoot...noobs are ignorant.

So being 150lvl and playing for a year probably does make you a noob. I could be wrong, you could work 2 jobs and go clubbing on the weekends and just play this game a few times a month - but when you do you play it well. Or you could spend hours each day doing this and that. Helping person A or cybering with person B. The actions of a player determine their status of a noob in my books.

How realistic is no drop after all anywayz? If I went out and robbed somebody and stole his wallet, is it permenantly stuck to me? What if I buy an airplane in a store?

Less no drops and more requirements, if you don't want a level 180 using the item, make it have that requirement, don't make it so that a level 180 has no chance of getting it, because they probably will, and that level 200 doesn't.

Tara can easily be dropped by one team. However, NODROP should only be used on items that actually would logically be nodrop. Be it tokens, MA attacks and perhaps a few other things. Not on pretty much any item worth having.
