    10-Six

    10-Six was a FPS-sorta-MMORPG that came out about 3 years ago. The concept was that you were a colonist on a planet that harbored a very valuable resource avalable nowhere else in the galaxy (sound familliar?). What you would do is stake a claim, then try to defend it from marauding bands of PCs. You in turn would go out and do as much gankage upon your fellow man as possible. Your claim/mine would provide you with cash, which you would use to upgrade your gear and your mine's defenses. I never got to play the game, but by all accounts, it was a lot of fun.

    The more I read about The Notum Wars, the more it reminds me of this now-defunct game. Coincidence? I think not...

    There are tons of games like this

    The full line of command and conquer, dune line etc.

    Mining in a game is not unique or patented.

    Notum has been in the AO unique storyline since the begining.
