Hi, my name is Heather Chaplin. I'm writing a mainstream book about videogame culture--who makes 'em, who plays 'em and who cares, basically. The book is going to be published by Algonquin Press sometime in late 2003. I'm looking to talk some AO players about life on Rubi-Ka and the role AO (and online gaming in general) plays in peoples' lives. I'm particularly interested in hearing anecdotes about social interactions on Rubi-Ka, the learning curve of the game, dealing with Funcom, the emotional impact of the game, what's fun, what's not, what your friends and family in RL think about your life on RK, etc.

I will STRICTLY respect your desire for privacy.

If you're interested in sharing some of your experiences or know anyone who might be interested, please use this thread or drop me a line at hchaplin@earthlink.net. If you want to hangout or meet ingame send a tell to any of my 'friends' on RK and they'll let me know.
