ah, but you can impact the world by being in a RP guild and doing something that FC reports, or in Notum Wars, you can help destroy another guild's tower.

I agree, with qualifications. There are really two separate worlds in AO-IC and OOC. IC, you definitely can impact the world by getting in the papers/holding events/etc. But OOC, right now all you can do is change the patch content, although with NW we'll be able to make changes more directly.

Ideally, AO would be one world, but I'm too tired to think of how to make that happen.
