    Notum Wars/ Shadowlands

    Hi,

I ve heard long time ago when it was relevant to announce an add on for AO that it was called Shadowlands .

Then came the name of Notum Wars .

So i d like to know if both are the same , coz i m a bit lost in the future releaes .
If they are not can somone one explain the difference of ocntent between both and an release date ( roughly speaking ) for the second one ?
( Any URL being not the official one about Notum Wars is welcome )

    Thanks

Notum Wars is th booster pack, that should be released in November. Shadowlands is the expansion pack, which was going to be released in November, but was pushed back. Due to this, Funcom decided to release Notum Wars instead, and release Shadowlands in the new year sometime.

    Hope this helps

Basically the booster (Notum wars) is all the stuff from Shadowlands that they were going to be able to finish in time for the scheduled release date.

Shadowlands was then pushed back to next year containing the rest of the content
Dont you think I look like Geordie from Star Trek?

Notum wars contains atleast 1 item from shadowlands. It also contains other items, possible from shadowlands or from ideas that didn't make it into shadowlands.

Shadowlands will probably contain everything else that was supposed to be in Shadowlands, and other things to make up for what was taken out to put into Notum Wars.

Just to present a little balanced, none "Trendy authority bashing" post

    hugs to all

This is pure speculation, but I suspect that Shadowlands may have been pushed back due to player dissatifaction with the idea of Omnis all appearing as "demons" and clanners all appearing as "angels" or whatever while in the Shadowlands. This seems fairly central to FC's original vision for Shadowlands, and players hated it (and rightly so, it's a bad idea). My guess is that they're working on some alternative way to handle this, to account for the moral ambiguity that many players enjoy in this game.

I would be 'turned-off' by daemons and angels.
I understand they want to see Rubi-ka as a location of intelligent design by metaphysical intent. That's ok with me, its good sci-fi plus metaphysical context. But for me medieval Christian mythology is a bore. (Talking mythology, not religeon, don't bust me up.)

    Is there a difference?

My answer depends on whether John Ashcroft is listening.

I wonder how John Ashcroft would appear in ShadowLands.

    hmmm...

The problem is the storyline. (read the novel right?

And if they are changing the evil/good look think or not and if its tied to side or not, well...
That sure is a headache, they cant change the story arch as it's all tied together. So we'll see about that.

But if the Booster is any indicator of what the expansion will be,
I'd say the expansion is gonna seriously rock. one way or another...

Btw! Wasnt the last info saying that OT would be demonic in appearance, and clans angelic?

But did it actually say it was the players that would have that look?
Maybe it's the npc's that will have that look.
That isnt clear from what I remember, so we'll see.
Besides the early screenies you see a "normal" looking char with monsters around inside Shadowlands. So... we'll see I guess, we'll see.
