instead of nerfing professions for being too strong, why not just bring up all the other professions to the same level? Yes that part has been said... the argument is that mobs will be too easy. So why not buff up the mobs some too to equal things out? It will pretty much make things the same with just different numbers, but at least no one will be being nerfed. not directly hehe

Because it will be an never ending circle of profession boosts. ATM its not much that needs a nerf, many boosts are on the way, but certain debuffs could need an increase of the chance of resisting them. And something has to be done with the 50% dmg vs 100% heals, hopefully we can find a solution to bring dmg back to 100% but keep the 40% cap.
