OOC / Shopping / LFG Channels

Pretty sure this is not just me.

But why are there different channels dependant on location?

For example, I was chatting on the Clan OOC channel in Athen then I zoned to Bliss expecting to be able to continue the conversation until I arrived at my mission.

However, nobody was chatting on the Clan OOC channel in The Longest Road. Nothing was being posted on the shopping channels either.

I can only assume then that there are seperate channels.

Why is this?
