I fail to see where Kesher mentioned he has a girlfriend. My English isn't perfect, but his posts are about his dog's programming abilities (assuming the asterisk in his posts stands for the letter "i").

Nah the insult is about right, and his right about you being childish, this is also my experience with you over all this years, using words like "satire" ("there was nothing satirically about it") doesn't make you more mature either. Your dishing A legend in AO, i personally listen to him more than any one else on this forum. Have some respect instead of being total ignorant.
Nobody is attacking you, don't be so touchy, his just defending his point of view..
You might see it after some drinks. Nothing wrong with your English either. All this bitching is getting me thirsty.

I'm just going to stop replying to Ironmax/ByLogic. His grasp of the English language hasn't improved even though he's used it often for years now on these very forums, and he obviously doesn't understand what's going on.
Rob, don't mock me!

You forgot my old nickname Zonax to, what exactly is that i don't understand or comprehend? Words without meaning is meaningless. I am pretty sure its more correct to say "grasp on the English language" not "grasp of the English language" :P You still need improvements. Your point in this thread have really deep meaning. I guess there's nothing left to say :P

Again with the martyrdom of the FC programmers! And yes, I've started the reply with "again" just to annoy you. Poor guys, they've worked in one or some of the richest countries in the world, on an incredible game, for a company who probably spent irresponsibly on its employees, they did a ****ty job and no one was there to say a simple "thank you". That's tragic.
I try to put FC and its employees down because I think they're incompetents who took a piss on our money and on the legacy of this game, but feel free to defend them. And I didn't give you an opinion, I gave you a professional opinion. You can believe that AO's port is especially difficult and it's normal to take as long as it took, if that makes you feel like less of a fool for trusting FC, but that indeed would be just an opinion. Also, my personality didn't kill this game and produced an incomplete port in 7 years, so maybe we talk about real stuff. Like vhax's current job, for example. I'm kidding, it was just a curiosity.

Cool, thanx.
When you asked for this professional opinion, did you also mention that those developers working on the engine were also fixing bugs in the current game, developing content for the current game, as well as being pulled to help work on other games like Conan, Legos, and Secret World? Or did you forget that Activision is a teensy bit larger than Funcom and can afford to have dedicated teams (and doesn't run any MMOs), so your canine companion's experience isn't directly comparable?
That is why I defend the developers. I believe they did the best they could with what they had. I've worked jobs where even when you gave it your all, people complained, and it sucks. So instead of personally attacking developers and their skills when you know nothing about them, why not do some critical thinking and realize that the blame lies with management? Funcom management has constantly chased the next big thing and left their previous projects to wither. And since they've been losing money for years, it's not likely they could afford to get completely dedicated teams for each project.
Maybe you're right, maybe they are all incompetent. But without seeing their code or knowing them, there's no way for any of us to know that's the case versus what I posited above. If you stop to think for a second, and have had to deal with bosses, you'll realize that you're placing blame unfairly on people who started working on this game because they were passionate, then had players like you constantly dogging on them for things decided by higher-ups.
Feel free to continue attacking the developers and then color me shocked when one of those same developers doesn't want to reply to you, though.
You are wrong. His/her dog has telepathic powers, she can read the AO code with her mind without formal access. You better believe him/her that it's entirely possible for the dog to port the game in one month by spending 30 seconds on it per week.
And the dog needs only $50 per week, so no excuses there, those FC programmers are simply overpaid code monkeys with no real knowledge.

As opposed to reading it with her mind with formal access? Your first reply was funny, but the joke can't last 2 replies, not if you don't come with something new about it. But dogs being paid less? And working faster? So that's what you can come up with, in writing. Leave humor to funny people and the talk about "reading code" to programmers, boss.

I just came here to have a gander at a fairly fresh thread, and my, it reminds me of old salty food fights. ... Those... damn invisible ninjas, cutting onions. *wipes eyes, blows nose*
Ahem, I enjoyed the history lesson about the troubles with the code, and the reminder of what the game might have looked like. I was running around Scheol last night and whilst staring at graphical glitches with rendering (it's my computer) and doing the mindless to and fro for Jobe Scientists, I got to thinking about this particular topic -- specifically some of the bushes that aren't as three dimensional as you'd think, but a good illusion.
That all got me into pondering how much awesome insanity the coders must have been practically breathing in and out, the entire weight database items (and how I'm kind of spoiled by there being so many items with description and flavor that others just consider junk) that probably has its own gravity well and, naturally, how big the world feels.
Okay, nostalgia over.
Hi guys, and no worries. I don't charge anything for necromancy.
[Vicinity] Hilfy: Expecting?
[Vicinity] Redtricks: Pregnant? No.
Hehe, thats a good bump Redtricks. I do miss the old days "fire" as i like to call it, now its more warm spaghetti discussion where people come with there chopsticks now and then to tend the meal, that's cozy enough for me.
Most bushes and environments are just 2D billboards textures that forms a object to look 3D, its pretty normal. None of this objects have any thing to do with the code of the engine. But they receive shadows witch they should not, (maybe not your computer after all) . Yeah AO is big, code are insane for sure and thats not a good thing, but its working.
