The main idea me and hundreds of DI community that dont play this game anymore is becouse the game doesnt get fixed at all, promoting a product that is old and not-working will not attract you anything.

'not working' is your opinion, feel free to have it. peop'e have s lot of time invested in AO.., friends and even some sense of family. Don't underestimate the power of nostalgia.

I also have to disagree with the "not working" statement.

Sure, it has its faults- all games do. This is a 13 year old game that has run well past what was expected of it, and the community is what keeps it alive. Would it be nice to have ALL THE THINGS? Of course it would. Funcom is an independent game developer. We do what we can with what we have available.

I am working on getting prizes that are more suitable for org recruitment. Just curious- did those of you who saw the stream want one of those... "special" items? (Being purposefully vague here)

Reality check!

Not working doesn't quite describe the state this game is in. Words like decadent, degenerate or depraved come to mind. There's hardly anyone leveling the normal way anymore, lft at every level range is empty, people go for weeks trying to find a group to finish a quest line or get stuck in inferno looking for a team but barely ever getting invited into one because inf exp teams are rare and most are org built ones. Last time I created a new char (less than a year ago) I ran into only 1 other person in the subway and 3 people in totw in 3 days of playing. Most players skip endgame content because you can just buy lootrights on almost everything. Notum wars (theoretical pvp) consists of 20 people fighting over all the towers on rk.
Pvp in general, what's left of it, is mostly bug exploiters and cheaters and funcom do not do ANYTHING at all to prosecute them. Every time it's "we will investigate the matter" in other words "screw you and your petition lol" because nobody gets sanctioned even if they shamelessly display their method of bug exploiting/cheating. You're exactly right when you say this game is 13 years old as it's barely ever had any updates, only now is it getting minor QoL stuff that the community has been literally begging for up to a decade, funcom did nothing to keep it up to date, it's far from being competitive on the market and not even attractive to new players anymore. It's still unique in many aspects that's why it makes me really sad to see it so badly neglected but even it's uniqueness doesn't make it playable compared to a lot of other games offered today. To top it all off AO still has the highest monthly fee of all mmorpgs in existence. The way AO is currently I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, or ask any ex-player to return.

I would prefer a leet doll or SharpTony t-shirt (if the Still Alive shirt was done properly) than a drinking glass.

I would like a dev-signed CD version of the game. I would like a Heckler piggy bank. I would like a 12 oz 1st aid stim-shaped soda container. I would like an in-game banner (maybe a placeable item) that indicates an org's hangout spot. I would like a 3D-printed version of my main. I would like any of these more than a glass.

That said, I appreciate the effort it probably took to get those made, and I applaud your tenacity.

2 days ago, I started a froob account. Even with years of AO behind me, it's still a very hard, non-cognitive, money tight experience.

You get out of noob island with like 5k. 2 nanoskills proficiency (not even expertise), 2 professions nano and 1 implant later, you are back to 0 cred.
I was not lucky and didnt loot any pistol better than starting one. When I open a shop an see one that improve my DPS (was ql <10): 20k cred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the time i get 20k cred, I will be level 20ish.... I gave up and paid my account.

Yeah, yeah, we all started like that back in the days. But at these times, the few other MMORPG were not better. (After years of dreaming about Ultima Online, have fun making something on this game!)

Better take this 1b cred and make it 1000 cashprize of 100k and offer it to new people
