IRRK: Sol Banking Corporation discovers spacial rift. ICC steps in to cordon off.

As part of a routine patrol of it's borders by Sol Banking, a long range scan detected a spacial rift five light years from Sol Banking's territorial borders.

Not wishing to upset the territorial arrangement with Omni-Tek, Sol Banking contacted the ICC for special escort and were duly accompanied into Omni-Tek Territory by the ICC Ship Valent-614.

While long range scans initially picked up what could only be described as an absence in space. Initial theories included that of dark matter or a quantum singularity; these were soon discounted as no dark matter was discovered and no gravitational forces were present.

The OTS Quartz, one of Omni-Tek's behavioural encouragement ships arrived on scene shortly after the ICC and Sol Banking to watch over the proceedings within their space. While highly equipped to deal with non-compliance on a planetary scale, the ship had little in the way of non-biological scanning equipment so was only able to watch.

Short range scans at the hands of Sol Banking discovered what they are calling atom "C1." After authorisation from the ICC, Sol Banking gathered six of these atoms into secure stasis and the OTS Quartz closed the rift using a high yield gravity bomb.

Historic records of the area from nearby Omni-Tek outpost Levi-6 indicate that the location was where the OTS Bluebird and the OTS Obsidian last transmitted. Short range scans show no signs of debris, bodies or ships. It is still unknown as to what happened to both ships. The OTS Quartz was happy to confirm that while regular patrols by Omni-Tek have gone on in the area, other than the initial investigation by Omni-tek, no recovery operation had been conducted.

Omni-Tek was quick to spring in with legal action against Sol Banking for theft from Omni-Tek space, however the ICC quashed their summons by ordering Sol Banking to hand over two of the atoms to Omni-Tek and two to ICC at a future date.

There is no further information at this time on what "C1" is, whether it came from the fight between the Bluebird and the Obsidian or what it can be used for.

The spacial rift has been confirmed sealed and stable by Omni-Tek and poses no threat to those who frequent space.

Why was no rescue operation attempted? That's a really good question, especially considering what were the last images of the battle between the OTS Bluebird and the OTS Obsidian... The OTS Obsidian launching Riot Specialists from the air locks at the Bluebird (As a point of interest, we consider Riot Specialists as Bahirae Units).

Admiral Cookson was on the OTS Constanople (if I got his rank wrong, don't mind me, Clanner and OT ranks, you know?). That same Cookson was declared dead from "natural causes". I don't recall from the top of my head if it was DOA or not... That ship was also involved in the Ares Project, wasn't it? Ares Project spearheading the creation and production of Bahirae Units.

But heh, the rift is now sealed! Good luck trying to find any answers now... Good cover up. Oh, wait, sorry about that... It was only coincidental, I know.

Hmm. I frigging love coincidences. Don't you?

We at OTPC would like to apologise for the error made in this article by IRRK. We too could find no record of the Constanople engaging the Bluebird as they have been no closer than 14 star systems from each other at any one point prior to losing contact with the Bluebird.

We have issued notice to the IRRK to change the detail on this article immediately, pending legal action for defamation of Omni-Tek's Flagship.

The Office of the Editor of the IRRK is happy to announce this article has been corrected and is now true and accurate in terms of ship names.

IRRK would also like to take this time to remind citizens and OTPC that it is just a name and if the Constanople had been involved, perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess with all these cyborgs.

The casual association of the Corporate flagship to a clash with the Bluebird is not merely a matter of nomenclature, but betrays the prize ignorance of the IRRK on interstellar matters.

I am glad to see that this error has been redressed, though perhaps the IRRK should in future leave galactic news reporting to those with the resources and the presence to do so with accuracy; namely the Omni-Tek Press Corp.
