Extra Life 2013 – Come Play Games and Help Children!

Hey, guys, hey!

Once again, it's time for the Extra Life event! Funcom is back and ready to play this year, and I hope you are too! Just like last year, we are excited to welcome returning and new players alike! We're looking forward to another awesome day of playing games to benefit children.

All of our communities are invited to participate in this year's cause. Join us on November 2nd at 1600 GMT / 12PM EDT / 9AM PDT to November 3rd 1700 GMT / 1PM EDT / 10AM PDT for 25 hours of gaming, fun, and prizes; all for charity!

We'll be donating our fund-raising efforts to the Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center, a local hospital that takes child-care seriously and is nationally ranked among the best in pediatric health care programs.


Here's how to join us!

1. Go to the Extra Life website and create an account. If you are rejoining us from last year, you should be able to log in with the same credentials as before.
   
2. When creating your profile, make sure you join the Funcom Team. You can pick a team from the dropdown box during the registration process. You may also register with a team by clicking "JOIN THIS TEAM" from the team page.
   
3. You may then edit your fund-raising page to specify your character and server information for the Funcom games you will be playing. Please include this information, or I may not be able to communicate with you!
   
4. Log into your games on your characters and play with us on our Extra Life date! We'll be starting at November 2nd at 1600 GMT / 12PM EDT / 9AM PDT to November 3rd 1700 GMT / 1PM EDT / 10AM PDT for a full 25 hours of gaming goodness!
   
5. Be mindful! Take a break if you get tired or need some time away from the computer. It's very important that you do not exhaust yourself, so feel free to step away for breaks as you need them. While it's fun to try and stay up to game for 25 hours, we want you to stay healthy!

Here's what will happen!

During the event, we will randomly pick participants in each game and contact them to provide a choice between two great prizes. If you're not in game when we pick you, we'll have to move on to the next person so make sure to try and be online as much as possible during the event. It's okay to take breaks though, please do!

Once you've been contacted, you'll be able to choose a prize from one of the two selections listed below.

Keep in mind that we will never ask you for you account name during this event, and Funcom representatives will never request your password. If you are asked to provide account information in detail during the event, please report the incident to a GM using the /petition command.

Anarchy Online

• An Extra-Life in-game t-shirt will be given to all qualified participants
• A choice of an Uberleet Pack or 1200 Bonus Points

Age of Conan

• A Double XP potion will be given to all qualified participants
• A choice of an Exotic Travellers Pack or 1200 Bonus Points

The Secret World

• An Extra-Life in-game t-shirt and title will be given to all qualified participants
• A choice of a Secret Society Dog Tag sent to your physical address or 1200 Bonus Points

Just remember that you must be logged in and responsive to qualify to win!

I'm not finding where I can edit that information. Please halp.

I found the best spot to be the text area that has the standardized "personal message" others will see on your page.

Visit your profile page, then on the right select the "Your Fundraising Page" drop down so you can click "Edit Your Page". On mine I just put the game name and character underneath the rest of what was already there.

I had asked to make sure that was an acceptable location, and told that it is.

Do we need to be online with the exact character named or will any character of that ones account be sufficient?

With the extra like site having problems, do you have a list of the people to contact? i ask because I forgot what characters name i used
