I actually like Hayake's idea: Remove the level "cap" on PvP in Camelot. A Level 2 can walk into lair but be prepared to get shot at.

For a level 200 to not be able to directly harm a sub 75 is fine in 2ho, MMD, and arenas. The fact of the matter is, this pvp limitation allows for exploits in Camelot. If you're a level 12 omni and want to see Tara, come to lair with an escort when omnis got the box. If you're a lowbie clanner, well, try the GS owned by clanners.

Now, if you don't think using a lowbie alt to try to ninja loot tara when the opposing side's got the box is an exploit, tell me cause then I know I'm wasting my breath.

    Not really...

Of course, someone lvl 75+ could very well ninja loot tarasque, the point here is though, that someone sub level 75 who's obviously trying to ninja loot tarasque, cannot be stopped AT ALL by legal means, theres nothing the high level players on either side could do, cept for pulling mobs, to stop the low level person exploiting the pvp level cap to loot tarasque...That kinda sucks...

    I propose:

Remove all pvp level caps in camelot caste.

Institute a voting system where, if a lowbie from the SAME SIDE OF THE CONFLICT is trying to ninja loot tarasque from his own people, a person can start a vote opening that same sided person to attack from his/her side of the conflict. Now, in order to keep it fair, there could be a minimum amount or % of YES's required to make that lowbie open to attack, so that 1 person with a grudge couldn't get someone screwed.

Whatever, just a couple ideas i'd throw down to help out the people that still play, I don't play much atm so I dun care, might again though if things change :P

Removing the pvp cap would help...

Though I know a level 1 could be built to take quite a few hits (probably over 20) thanks to the 40% cap and absorbtion shields.

A nanomage low life class that doesn't raise body dev or stam and crams in enough ncu through various means to get a good NT/Enf screen.

Hmm, is reflect counted before or after the 40% cap? lol

That would get a lot of laughs sending them down to storm the box

Thats not a good idea but

what could be done is this :
Remove LoS on Tarasque so it agroes whatever enter the room; augment the radius on the aoe so it touches everything in the lair, augment the frequence of the aeo say 1/mn at mininimum at least it wont do any harm and make the 20mn beating a lil bit more risky. O and also fix the spam loot bug or whatever it was and the /quit or alt+F4 exploit

having 25% in that zone is the problem.. get it up to 75% and it fixes all problems.. (no big groups, just fights, teams vs teams)

The Problem isn't low lvls per se. It's the ability of a single person to waste 3 hrs of 80+ people's time by ninjaing, shielded by game mechanics....

At least make loot messages (Group only on test) into vicinity messages.

Hajk, What is the fun if football games were played in 75% gas?

Imagine a football game where it's just a race to kick as many balls into the other side's goal in 1h without any interference from the opposing side....

<edit> that should be read as wasting the time of eighty or more people, not the time of lvl 80+ people

The simple and fair solution is to give everyone who enters camelot and is under level 75 their own Camelot. Everyone 75 and higher is not affected... other than by the lack of sub-75 ninjas. :P

And disable beacon warping in Camelot.

but people below L75 can waltz in there and not worry about getting jumped by as many people as a person 75+, right? and thus it gets easier to ninja.. just something that hit me..

Would this floor lock be paired with a ceiling lock, so that a range of characters, of whatever levels the dungeon is geared towards, are the only ones allowed in?

  11. #31
Once you level lock a dungeon, you really (out of fairness) have to do it to all of them. So you dont want any sub-75's ninja'ing in Camelot, fine maybe the lowbies dont want your 100+ ass (for example) in SOM killing neleb in one hit and getting the coat for all your low level guildies every spawn? (but I doubt you even thought about that since your uber)

Having said that apparently the new 'lowbie subway dungeon' in 14.6 on test wont let you in after level 25 (or before level 2) so perhaps this is something we are going to see on the other dungeons as well?

Of course the probelm with this system is when new lower level stuff is introduced that you cant access, you whine about lack of content. I lost count of how many high level players I met while doing the living cyber armour missions. While the reward was no use to them at all, all of them said they were doing it because they had done everything else!

If an item like Nelebs robe (which can be useful at any level) is put in a new low level dungeon that is level locked, I guarantee you high level people will be the ones complaining about the system.

if you do this, why not make SoM lvl locked at 50, you hav to be under 50 to get in, and for borg dungeon, lvl lock it below 75, condemd subways? lvl lock it at below 30, high levels shouldnt be able to get everything. I agree that camelot should be pro 75, but the other dungeons should be for the lower people, only.

  13. #33
i agree witth JERRA restrict High lvls to get in everywhere but let low lvls coem in everywere fairgame

  14. #34
if you dont like them ninja looting, ask for PvP limits to be removed, like some people are, not a level limit to be imposed. One of the best afternoons I spent in this game was in an empty Camalot

oh, and Halfdeck, it took me about 8 or 9 months or so to level past 75

Halfy - I only meant that I'm high enough not to be one of the lower levels. What I meant was:

"I'm level 200 and STILL would not like a level lock because it would prevent people from even peeking into Camelot"

I never meant you said I was level 50 =) I know that you know I'm not hehehe

About taking a week to level to 75..

I can probably do that in less amount of time, depends on if you get someone to help you or not (not exploiting). But then again, I have the means to do so, and the friends to do it with. Most newbies (wow, there are actualy noobs in the game heheh) do not have this opportunity. New players will not get level 75 in a week - they might dream about doing that, but only people with the monetary assets and twinking will do that.

As for the ninja-looting of lowerlevels - yes, its true - I agree with you completely there - I would be a fool to say that I like having a level 6 clanner in the Lair ready to grab the loot when Tarasque falls.

Right now we have 100%, 75%, 25% and 0% zones.

Whatever happened to 50% ? Personally I would like this:

100% = noone can attack anyone
    75% = Mobs only
50% = Political, the way 25% is now
25% = Mayhem, the way 0% is now, with levelcaps
0% = Annihilation, NO caps, total war, level 1 omnis can get ganked by level 200 omnis if need be...but would not affect titles.

0% would be in EXTREMELY few places - I would only use it in a few places with this function - one of them being the Lair in Camelot and perhaps in some weird ultra-arena.

The annihilation zones would then also allow people to kill ANY clans or omnis that are in the lair, to prevent them from trying. If only the level cap was removed, I firmly believe that the people engaging in "fun ninja looting activities(c)2002" would only make a low omni twink/clan twink instead and use THAT =/

This would terminate ninjas in there faster than .. wow.. it'd be very fast =P

well I think it's a good idea, no body under 75 can survive there without a bunch of 130+.

75 is an easy level to hit, the gripe that a lot will never see it is kind of silly. With a few good teams you can go from 1-75 in a few weeks if you are a power gamer a few days.

it would be great to take all the sub-75 out of the equation but they will still be becon warped in so the cap won't matter too much unless there is a kill box in the zone as well that insta-kills any sub 75 that steps into the 25% zone.

That would in fact be better, make the whole PF open to anyone, but if a 74 or less steps into 25 they get instagibbed but the nefarious "Weapon Damage".

Still I'll miss trying to train lizards and ghasps on the leedle ninjas, it's always good fun.

Hehehe, I always get a kick out of these posts. Everyone left EQ to play AO because AO was gonna be THE game that rules them all. Most went back due to the bugs in AO. Then they all went to DAoC because DAoC was gonna be THE game that rules them all.
Most went back because of the complete lack of high-end game.

Turns out the "next" game is always about the same as the last game. Different bugs, maybe even more bugs (remember AO when it first came out?) Different exploits, but basically the same problems in every game.

Bottom line, you either learn to deal with the problems of Multi-player universes with today's technology, or you stop playing them. There is no "next" game that will replace them all.

I've even been reading the Shadowbane forums lately to see how that is shaping up. Ya know what. They are ALREADY complaining of the same problems we got here, plus a few new problems, and the game has just been delayed until sometime next year.

Let me shoot those level 10 lameass alts in the T lair without having to train a dragon on them (not always doable) and the problem goes away.

Since FC probably won't do that, or doesn't know how without screwing it up everywhere else lol, level locking is the next best thing. Either that or have a button level 75+ can push to spawn some random little dragons around sub 75s.

Or level lock T's corpse to 75+. I'd love to see the ninja lowbie lovers argue against that.
