Thread: Borealis Story Summary

  1. #21
I'll add a few cheeky hints myself.

The aliens have been nigh on ignoring Borealis with the Battle Dish modifications active, mostly because one pulse from the dish would have shot one of their ships out the sky. With the dish gone they had to investigate to see if they couldn't either 1. See what modifications had been done to the dish and 2. Check to see if it really was destroyed.

    Okay, here's a few bits:
    a) the device under the dish was not kyr'ozch in origin.
    b) Bahirae was attacked at the dish by the obsidian army individuals just like many others.
    c) isn't it just a tiny bit curious how the sentinels haven't said much in all this about the blatant invasion of Tir?
    d) Bahirae's entire history is yet to be fully revealed, what is known so far is she's part of the Ares Project to give her immense tactical knowledge and that she's already taken part in omni-pol ops. By 29487, she is a part of omni-af, even if she is quoted as a portable asset.

I remember one time I wrote a story about hecklers in Ely talking smack about players, and petitioning to get them removed from the zones.

    Recent developments:

Bahirae Serugiusu takes temporary CEO of Omni-Tek, declares martial law, and disbands Omni-Pol and blames New Dawn for the bombing: http://forums.anarchy-online.com/sho...d.php?t=606503
Ruth Montezuma of New Dawn calls for people to go into hiding and prepare for resistance :http://forums.anarchy-online.com/sho...d.php?t=606506
Ivan Sergeyich is sent into hiding: http://forums.anarchy-online.com/sho...d.php?t=606527

In addition to whatever havoc Bahirae Serugiusu plans to wreak on Clans/Neutrals/Borealis/Rubi-Ka, this is shaping up to include significant internal turmoil within Omni-Tek.
Sentinels still completely silent. Now we add New Dawn to the mix. No idea if New Dawn were actually to blame for the explosion or just being made a scapegoat. Though Bahirae Serugiusu is being accused of being a warmonger by former/deceased Omni-Pol officer, it was Tarkhan Zora that originally approved the deployment of the Damocles device and was the one who ordered the targeting of Tir. Is Bahirae Serugiusu just seizing the opportunity to snatch power and start the war she's always wanted or was she informed and part of the larger plan from the beginning?

Correction: Bahirae was accused of being a traitor by Omni-Pol and now Omni-Pol are wanted by Omni-AF.

    Updates:

During our flight, Omni-Pol fled to an old base within 2HO and raillied what support we had, whilst managing to contact both Director Sergeyich and Director Pourais, both who supported us. During this period we managed to establish that MAX is actually off-planet and the one seen at the speech was a fake. MAX is now back en-route to Rubi-Ka and is 3 months out.

Omni-Pol is now laying low, trying to rally what support they can whilst attempted to hide from relentless efforts by the Armed Forces in locating us.

The situation is dire and Omni-Pol are turning to outside help, the ICC has been petitioned to intervene, there are rumours of some seeking Clan help - and a contact within Internal Operations has confirmed that the Unredeemed have been contacted for assistance.

Thanks! OP updated with more events characters, recent events and what players are up to

Please let me know if there's anything I've missed... I'm fairly sure there is.

Anyone know how clan people are getting involved? I could guess they're looking for Montezuma, or trying to find out why the Sentinels have been so quiet but I don't really know.

    Further updates:

The BFF launched their biggest attack to date earlier on and at some points siezed control of certain areas across Borealis. Omni-Tek responded with the largest reactionary force to date, flooding the city with AF commandos and setting up defences at major points such as the grid and wompahs (turrets and unicorns were deployed).

Intense fighting erupting all across the city as the 2 sides battled for control, and Omni-Tek began bombarding the city with orbital strikes and bombing runs which literally damaged buildings (ruins were placed around the floor). The BFF managed to disable the Omni-Pol Juggernaut by either detonating a bomb or shooting a missile at it. Fighting intensified and in the midst of the Chaos the Aliens turned up and launched an all out offesnive across the city aswell.

Omni-Pol entered the battlefield and assisted AF in securing the city, some sacrificing their lives to corner the Alien Incursion Commander near the subway, allowing our forces to focus on him and eventually take him down.

As the Commander died, and the BFF and other aliens fells, Bahirae thanked citizens for their aid and ordered the Department of Investigations to set up beacons and have the body of the commander teleported to an R&D facility.

Omni-Pol then returned to hiding, but not before i got arrested by the department of investigations.

Simon hasn't been himself since that plastic surgery effort went south. He's got his face back to a semblance of what it was but I bet it itches something fierce and that on top of his usual orneriness could play a part in the Sentinels reluctance to discuss current affairs.

A Coup but for another name would smell as rotten

Upon informing Bahirae that we captured a Clan spy, Bahirae arrived where Suestar then identified her as "The Obsidian One". Bahirae immediately killed Suestar, and ordered everyone present to forget it happened. Naturally, i contacted Omni-Tek Internal Operations and informed them of the possible link between Bahirae and the Obsidian Army.

Now for yesterdays event we saw this: Zora, Rosuma and Lonare arrived and were shown to an exact spot by Bahirae, this spot later exploded from a coolant malfunction, killing all nearby. Immediately after the explosion members of the Obsidian Army arrived, and Bahirae and all AF-Riot Specialists (who all look like Bahirae) evacuated, abandonding their post and all the employees present.

Next, we see Bahirae take control of Omni-AF and Omni-Pol.

From an Omni perspective this looks like Bahirae is in the Obsidian Army and is taking control of Omni-Tek on Rubi-Ka. So now Omni-Pol, under orders of Omni-InternOps will be attempting an arrest during tomorrow's speech.

Never heard of a Coup before Agent? Interesting how those involved in the Coup consolidate their power. This has nothing to do with the clans. I saw you being arrested and lead away. I hope they don't alter you too much AgentCora. I was looking forward to scrambling your brains myself someday, and I don't mean by personality reformation.

Any word on what happened in Bore today? I was at work all day. With Clans, Neutrals and Omni-Pol all set against Omni-AF, I don't think it would have gone well for Omni-AF.

It didn't start or end in any way that was planned. I'm not sure what gummed up the works, but Feynrose was on the case.

Hephas made an entrance on one side of Borealis, and Johnson made a big dramatic entrance on the other. Forces met and clashed in the middle for quite a while. Lots of shots fired, and the riot lasted more than a couple of hours. At one point in time, there were attacks and counter attacks, as well as counters to counter attacks. Omni-pol snuck in behind the lines and got the juggernaught working, and it exploded causing the death of Hephas. At the same time, BFF troops fought Johnson all the way back to Jobe Whompahs and was swarmed upon. I have no idea if he died or not as I was not part of that battle.

Since both snake heads were allegedly lopped off on both sides, the New Dawn representative vanished into what I assume to be a grid tunnel of some sort (whiffy ARK teleport powers ahoy!) and what was left of the BFF either fell over dead or also warped out.

Very anticlimactic battle, but we had so many hiccups and setbacks I don't think we could have done better given what was available to work with. I was in contact with Feynrose and the clan formed raid at the time trying to get the leads to connect. I have no idea what happened on ARK side but then Feynrose told me that he managed to get a FC employee to help out and shortly thereafter things got rolling.

All in all it can be summed as: Lots of casualties and destruction, but no clear winner.

Though you couldn't tell because the moment the main battle dissipated, the Omni-pol roleplayers pretty much encouraged everyone to believe that Omni-tek won. It was hard to argue against that in character, because the static Omni guard mobs continued to spawn and none of the important role-players that actually mattered had flags.

To add to what bubbacrush said:

Johnson did infact die during the battle - he got overwhelmed by the BFF troops, which shortly thereafter got cleaned up or dissipated on their own (not sure). Also, contact with Johnson could not be reestablished afterwards from what I'm aware, so it's unclear wether or not he got permakilled.

After Johnson died, Omni-Pol and Omni-AF called the shots and after a couple scouting runs that didn't find any BFF troops, declared the battle to be won by omni-tek and borealis secured.
Shhhsss. Careful. Behind all the colours, there are ears, ears who listen.

The tense exchange between Bubbacrush and Agentcora after the big battle was interesting to watch. We even had a guest appearance by Feynrose!

    WTB chat logs pls.

    (Edit)

And does "the liberating of Borealis" (per 18.6.6. patch) technically mean that Omni-AF lost -- regardless of who was strutting around Bore after the fight yesterday?

I didn't save any, unfortunately. I get routinely spammed by bystanders and roleplayers and raid leaders and sorting through all of that while focusing on vicinity chat can be tough. I also really stretch my attention during those times and it can be hard to keep up with all the details. I could paraphrase what happened with Bubba, but it wouldn't be as entertaining as it was in game. Agentcora may have a chat record, but I can't speak for her player. Next time I will look into saving chat records if people are genuinely interested.

Omni-Tek lost days ago when they started an orbital bombardment of a civilian population center.
