Thread: Kuma tonfa pretty nice DPS

    Kuma tonfa pretty nice DPS

So, I recently got some kuma tonfa for my MA.

and I've been thinking a lot about this recently, so I'll just get out with it:

I think for any class who can get martial arts in their symb set, that Kuma tonfa will OD any other setup.

    Can anyone prove me wrong?

Basically, it comes down to a relatively simple concept: # of attacks per minute, and average attack damage.

So, if you do NOTHING else, but stick on 2 kuma tonfa, you got 59 attacks/minute if you're 1/1:

    45 attacks trip weild, 60/6s =10 fast attack, 60/15s = 4 brawl
    =59.

Now, you got roughly 2000 normals, 4000 crits on kuma
for any NON MA, probably 3k-5k normals, and 5k-8k crits roughly depending on AC's and buffage.

which basically means, with no MA attacks, no extra damage, no perks etc, just rolling up and spamming specials and normals, you gunna do about

    45/3 + 4brawls = 19 MA (type attacks) * 4000 avg normals =76000
    45/3*2+10 = "melee" type weapon attacks *2000 avg normals=80000

    156000 dmg per minute.

    With 0% crit.

To me this is quite conservative. you get at LEAST 2-3 perks, you can barely put together a setup without about 20% crit unless you're trying to avoid it, which is easily going to get you another roughly 30000 dmg to put you at 180k DPM roughly.

Then, you got all your professional perks on top that will add some damage and reseach, procs and everything else.

So, for example, I know a trader with kuma+BOB, and he is WTF raping other traders in traditional setups.

But, I'm wondering... what about something like Enforcer who has a BIT of support, or keeper - who has nice procs to go along with it.

Keeper, I'm thinking, could do very nicely due to the frequency of proc pops with 60 hits/minute.

Goliath was an enforcer on RK2 with duel shens a few years ago and he did fine. add another 10 hits/minute with fast attack, and som eupdated gear.... i'm sure it would be quite effective.

neither of these profs have MA in theri "symb" set.

I agree on shades, but they have spirits.

    I'm thinking:

enforcer, keeper, trader, MA, the only exception I can think of is advy... but, I'm honestly wodnering if it would OD the BS's.

Fixers can wear support, which have MA, which is what Lazy meant, even if they don't wear all 3 support symbs

Epic! MA setup is bugging me on trader. I made one on Testlive, and it's epic. On trader I think MA setup might OD MA setup on MA's.

hm wondering, 1 kuma + 1 shen stick aren't better as damage are the same and we can use 1 fast attack only btw ?

no procs on tonfas, while shens have dreadloch nanite proc :

    Target Modify NanoInit -250
    Target Modify HealModifier -25%

That would work just as well, and save you the pain of farming 2 wu's, the need to get the right (or left, har-har) kind of tonfa etc etc.

i guess it depends of the player and game style (and social / visual importance)

    * 2 kuma :

    Max Health 600
    Modify Add All Off. 30
    Modify Bio Metamor 30
    Modify Sensory Impr 30

    1 kuma + 1 shen :

    Modify Max Health 550
    Modify Add All Off. 15
    Modify Bio Metamor 15
    Modify Sensory Impr 15
    +proc
    Target Modify NanoInit -250
    Target Modify HealModifier -25%

    2 shens :

    Max Health 500
    proc :
    Target Modify NanoInit -250
    Target Modify HealModifier -25%

    Hassle of farming WU's?
They drop like candy in vort, so much so we have trouble giving them away! ^^

Edit; (Please don't nerf WU drops o' Devs!)

you missed the biggest thing kuma offers... Fast Attack.

i'm actually working on my MA doc to change weapons, and i have the same question/problem.

    2 kuma or 1 kuma + 1 shen.

we have the stats in previous post, and beside "visual" look, i'm still wondering about more attack rating + a small bonus in BM/SI or saving that nanite proc (-inits / - heal efficiency on target)

My trade is Kuma/Shen and the damage is just so nice that I cant bring myself to go back to ranged on her. Losing the DPS just is too much to sacrifice to not have to run and chase the mobs that slightly higher dps (than my toon atleast) characters pull.
    Stuff here

you'll have melee init and phys init which is an annoying IP drain.

I'm not familiar with shade but is phys init green?

I'm almost positive it is dark blue.
