So, I recently got some kuma tonfa for my MA.
and I've been thinking a lot about this recently, so I'll just get out with it:
I think for any class who can get martial arts in their symb set, that Kuma tonfa will OD any other setup.
Can anyone prove me wrong?
Basically, it comes down to a relatively simple concept: # of attacks per minute, and average attack damage.
So, if you do NOTHING else, but stick on 2 kuma tonfa, you got 59 attacks/minute if you're 1/1:
45 attacks trip weild, 60/6s =10 fast attack, 60/15s = 4 brawl
=59.
Now, you got roughly 2000 normals, 4000 crits on kuma
for any NON MA, probably 3k-5k normals, and 5k-8k crits roughly depending on AC's and buffage.
which basically means, with no MA attacks, no extra damage, no perks etc, just rolling up and spamming specials and normals, you gunna do about
45/3 + 4brawls = 19 MA (type attacks) * 4000 avg normals =76000
45/3*2+10 = "melee" type weapon attacks *2000 avg normals=80000
156000 dmg per minute.
With 0% crit.
To me this is quite conservative. you get at LEAST 2-3 perks, you can barely put together a setup without about 20% crit unless you're trying to avoid it, which is easily going to get you another roughly 30000 dmg to put you at 180k DPM roughly.
Then, you got all your professional perks on top that will add some damage and reseach, procs and everything else.
So, for example, I know a trader with kuma+BOB, and he is WTF raping other traders in traditional setups.
But, I'm wondering... what about something like Enforcer who has a BIT of support, or keeper - who has nice procs to go along with it.
Keeper, I'm thinking, could do very nicely due to the frequency of proc pops with 60 hits/minute.
Goliath was an enforcer on RK2 with duel shens a few years ago and he did fine. add another 10 hits/minute with fast attack, and som eupdated gear.... i'm sure it would be quite effective.
