GridStream Productions (GSP) proudly presents AO Con 2012, the first fan convention dedicated entirely to AO! From the 10th to the 12th of August in Grand Rapids, Michigan, there will be live GSP DJs, costume contests, and more! You'll get to meet all of your AO friends from near and far, all in one place. We over at Funcom are very glad to see a convention like this made by players, for players! I'd come in a heartbeat (I'm from Michigan and my sister lives in GR) BUT being married does have its drawbacks at times.

We have (*counts*) 4 or 5 married couples already registered.

In a couple of those cases, the spouse doesn't even play AO. Because we're looking at a crowd of somewhere between 30 and 50, it's a comfortable enough setting that I think spouses would be comfortable. We're all pretty nerdy, but if someone is married to an AO player, they must be comfortable with nerds, right?

^^ There are several couples that plays together in mah awesome org.

Unfotunately, my wife strongly dislikes AO and the fact that I play as much of it as I do. Oh well.

My idea is how about a video life stream ingame ?
into ICC Party location with Video walls
for the homesitter
or a website with this Stream ?

While I'm not sure we can coordinate any sort of live video stream of the con, we will most likely have vids and definitely tons of pictures to post afterwards. We're also considering the possibility of streaming the evening parties live on GSP (tune in at gridstream.org). The latter will depend on the internet connection we can get at the hotel and if our setup will work to actually broadcast and play out loud in the party room. It can be tricky to do both, but we're going to give it our best effort!

Ok, here is where reverse psychology comes in .. you need to do what my hubby did and tell her she wouldn't be smart enough to figure out how to play or intelligent enough to know the first thing about it ... Kev did that and here I am 4 years later , and i teach him stuff lol
